- The cat seems to be out of the bag with the all new 2025 Toyota 4Runner. Some one at Forbes posted the all new off road SUV and the internet did what it will do. The photos are all over the net and we will discuss the non-official release of the Overland beast.

Looks like Forbes accidentally scheduled their post for 10:15 AM instead of PM lol
Rookie mistake 🤣
Henceforth, all Toyota vehicles will come with 24 hour clocks as the default setting.
thank you forbes for the sneak peak!
“It’s like they shoved a roof on the truck.”
Congratulations. You figured out what the 4Runner always was.
The real question is whether the VIN will start with a J.
My tundra vin is t for texus
Toyoda to Forbes: "You just lost all future confidential preview privileges. And for God's sake teach your journalists the difference between "AM" and "PM." 🤣🤣
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Toyota to Forbes "Do better next time (wink wink good job guys, this went viral like we wanted 😊)"
Exactly 💯 @@ChristianC-gy1ym
WOW this will be selling like HOTCAKES
Looks pretty sweet, but everything we thought it would be.
It’s nice but nothing earth shaking!
as expected
Pretty sure they’re doing it to sell the LC250.
Looks like a mini sequoia
😂
Toyota has some funny designers. They recently just designed the grand Highlander to look like the rav 4 instead of the Highlander that it's supposed to look like but bigger.
@@Passportbros8 looks nice tho. We just got a 23 Highlander xse blacked out with red interior. That turbo is nice ! But now looking into a sequoia ñol
Land Cruiser sales will skyrocket unless this comes in cheap (which I can’t see).
I like it. Definitely could have been worse looks wise
I’m happy 😊 with this .
The back seat area looks so small from side view..
Yeahh look how short the door is....hope it's not the official one
@@dannyboy1984Exactly! Yeah hopefully
I dig the design. Little throwback to the first gen with it rocking the Tacoma front end and the rear windows extending to the roof.
in what way does it resemble the 1st gen? I just don't see it.
@johnathoncastro the way the rear quarter window extends up to the roof and has a very similar shape.
The rear windows extending to the roof along with the inline four option is a nice call back to the 1and 2nd gen 4Runners also 3rd gen becuase of the inline 4 option I wish they could bring back the original 2.7 3rz.
@@tonymontana7293just vote for different people next time and we can get our good old engines back!
The rear window is from the original 4Runner and overall styling looks like the original 4Runner (1983) with 4 doors.
This look fine, but I think the current model looks better; I'm kind if surprised by that.
Well said
No word on a manual. Shame
Is it longer and wider than the new Land Cruiser?
What’s the ground clearance?
How is this going to fit into their lineup?!?! I hope this isn’t as expensive as the Land Cruiser
def starting less. trd pro and trailhunter might intercept some of landcruiser so far as the pricing goes.
I like the look of the 5th Gen more though all the nice updates plus inverter would be sweet.
I'm hoping this helps drop the price of used 5th gens
don't count on it....
The 5th gens will go up, unless it's 8 years old with 200k miles.
I think it will have the opposite effect. I expect demand for the last of the 5th gens will increase dramatically. The exterior styling of the 6th gen is very underwhelming.
I think it looks sick! Wish it had a V6, but other than that, its perfect for a 4runner
Strange the TRD Pro and Trailhunter trims didn't have offroad racks and bumpers like the Tacoma?
Guys.....it looks good, a nice lift kit, bigger tires will have presence on the road. Especially with those fender flares.
Definitely!
What's up with the side panels? It looks like the vehicle was in a car accident. And yes, it's a taco with a shell.
Toyota has some funny designers. They recently just designed the grand Highlander to look like the rav 4 instead of the Highlander that it's supposed to look like but bigger.
It must be official because I posted the photos and link to this article on Toyota USA Facebook page, and then they blocked me. 😂😂😂
Savage!
Everyone is tripping. Am loving the design and sure Tacoma and 4Runner share a platform and there is nothing wrong with that.
One advantage is that it should make for an even larger aftermarket for accessories and mods.
Man I want to like it but it looks like the new pathfinder not an off road monster. I preferred a baby Land Cruiser or GX 550. Oh well I have my 5th gen. 2020
People always want to find a reason to hate on something new. It’s funny how people begged Toyota for a redesign and when they finally do it, they complain.
@@ettiennenathan I hear you but I love the new Tacoma, Land Cruiser and GX550. I have a 2020 off road and love it but this one ehhh i dunno. I hope it grows on me.
@@ettiennenathan agreed.
TRD PRO does not have 4 RUNNER advertised on it .
I see a mix of fourth gen and fifth gen from the side and Rav4 and Sequoia from the front. Trd pro looks sick🤍 DAMN IT, I told myself no more SUV'S .I have to add this to the collection. I have Third, fourth, fifth. Only seems right to add the sixth gen👊🏻
Version limited where ?????
Is there much difference in size or stats between this and the new Land Cruiser?
Any details on assembly location? Seems like that would have been in the article if it was something Toyota wanted to promote.
Nice, now let's see the price. My guess is about $5K over a Tacoma with a similar package.
I love what Toyota did! And the Trailhunter with the built in air compressor is a game changer!
Hope the tan color comes to the Tundra
It looks alot like the current 4runner and the 2024 tacoma, i dont see the problem
Love it! rather than buying ford or any unreliable car out there.
too early to tell if this turbo 4 hybrid is reliable.
I bet its reliability will be terrible just like the garbage Tacoma.
@@billricheter5678 oh yeah. I bet they have a lot of recalls like :)
@@jaycee2670Nothing can beat the v6 outgoing in terms of reliability
I'm not disappointed so far. It will be officially disappointing if there isn't a manual transfer case on the trail hunter.
If it works like the Tacoma you will not see a manual in a Iforce max sadly
Does the tailgate window go down?
Yes it does!
Yep
Was really hoping they'd get us excited with something like a removable top
We can dream
Who knows, Maybe that's coming in a future refresh of this car.
They’re already making it look like a 1st and 2nd gen 4Runner with the rear windows extending onto the roof. It could happen eventually.
The new 4-Runner is JATICA! (just another Toyota I can't afford)
Soon enough at this rate, sadly JATICA will become JABICA (Just another brand I can’t afford)
I do really like it! It is amazing and remember folks, this is gonna be the 4runner for the next 15 years!
The Back windows look like the old Bronco II rear-side windows that wrapped up on the roof.....
This looks great! Nice job Toyota!
After this morning's faux pas by Forbes magazine letting out the 4Runner press release 12 hours early, I expect we're going to see a big spike in demand for the last of the 5th gens. I'm very underwhelmed by the styling for how long it has been in development. Hate the longer wheel base, hate the decrease in approach and departure angles, not at all impressed with the styling and body lines. I think we all expected it would have the same 2.4L turbo as the Tacoma, but I'm still disappointed. If the price point is in the mid $50k range, why would anyone buy one of these over a Land Cruiser?
To be fair, I thought the new Land Cruiser was going to be difficult to beat. The LC is what the 4Runner should have been. Simplistic but classic lines, outstanding functionality, and basic options that are extremely functional for the off-road enthusiasts. Stylistically, the new 4Runner looks like botox trash compared to the LC. I expect this might be the shortest lived generation since the 1990-1995 run of the 2nd gen 4Runner. I think they're going to see a big drop in demand. It doesn't have a single differentiating feature that makes it more appealing than the Land Cruiser other than a slight variation in price point.
The approach and departure angles aren’t affected as much as I thought they would have been. Also, differentiating features like a non-hybrid and a roll down rear window is exactly what a 4Runner customer would want. Design is a subjective thing, but as usual with Toyota designs, they initially look meh, but once seen in person, they look amazing, at least in my eyes.
Trailhunter runner
It looks fine. Back seat looks smaller, and probably is.
If it comes in a manual i may consider it
It's been removed so it must have been real lol
Looks ok. I don't like the air intake on the Trailhunter as much as I don't like those huge seats on the Pro that I hope they don't use in the 4runner. I measured 6'3" in the back of the 2024 great for sleeping, wondering what the measurement are here. Seems like it needs a beefier back bumper. I don't think it looks better than the 2024. well, the big roof rack is gone for the pro. Don't like the vent in the front fender. The snorkel reminds me of the huge windshield wiper on the Cybertruck. Kinda, wish it had its own looks because I don't care for the looks of the Tacoma. Might go buy the 2024 I'm thinking, especially if it's made in Mexico.
Not happy with the power liftgate. If a strut breaks, it's $1K a piece plus labor. It was $2K to replace my RAV4 struts! The power rear window is nice.
Imagine the Lexus 5.0 V8 in that?
Dream machine!
Sadly the V8 never did well in the 4Runner the last time they tried that. I agree though! Would be fun
Is it made in japan?
Hopefully.
I really like the look of the TRD Pro. That sand color is sweet. The back side window wrapped into the roof is a nice touch. Of All the imports, I feel like Toyota has done a great job.
We agree!
Love the design of the Tacoma and this looks even better for me personally. Think I’ll take that TRD pro!
Not surprised by the leak, but didn’t expect from a big name like Forbes.
Looks great can’t wait
Can't wait!
Loving that Tan/Brown color. I like the trailhunter and PRO models with the fender flare accents and grills. The base trims look like a mini sequoia
Imo it looks like Tacoma had a baby with Sequoia.
The rear window beltline kink looks so budget. Very corolla like.
I wonder if we will be able to swap the tacomas front end onto the 4runner?
Shoved a cover on what truck cause it looks completely different to the Taco & Tundra…
Umm I still like the 5th gen premium because it just looks great and easily upgradable. The 6th gen That new big screen is overwhelming.
that big screen is likely an upgrade package. tacoma offers the 8 in screen too so I would assume the 4runner would too
Looks like a mix of 4th gen a pillars front end tacoma with a twist of 5th gen rear
Well, if these are legit, they don't look bad..
Need pricing before it can be determined if this is worth getting excited about.
Keep in mind Toyota focuses on evolution vs revolution...building on 5th gen greatness.
These are the real truck . I’ve seen it . Looks pretty evolutionary which is typical for Toyota.
I don't think Toyota really wanted to put a lot of money and effort into this new one sad to say. The good news is there are millions of 5th gens out there to choose from for a used 4Runner.
silly comment
😂 what a dumb comment
Looks sweet
what is the fuel economy?
I doubt we will get those numbers tonight when the "official" release happens
Why is everyone hating on the new 4Runner
looks great. wonder how much the dealer mark up is going to be
Guess Im getting a 24 then lol
Looks like a Tacoma hatchback.
I cant help but see an isuzu-esque shape but it does look good. Wonder how long term reliability will be with the hybrid
Battery from prius, turbos and engine from Yamaha, same as hilux trucks. Worried not.
@@walawala-fo7dsbut will it stack up to the proven long term reliability of the previous gens? I HIGHLY doubt that we will see 300k mile ave lifetimes
@@zachjaeger2518 Why not? Because the hilux gets that as well as the prius. Toyota, or rather Yamaha, who actually makes the Toyota engines have been achieving that with turbos for years now, and the Nimh battery is prius tech as well as the denso electrics. Everything about this car should be bullet proof because it is based on bulletproof tech that is not actually new.
@@walawala-fo7ds thing weighs 2x as much as the prius tho , and arent most hiluxs turbo diesels*
@@zachjaeger2518 the turbo does not handle the fuel. There is nothing special about a turbo for diesel or gasoline as they operate on the principle of compression of air, not fuel 😂. The oil and cooling systems of the Yamaha turbos are equally over engineered and more important proven. The weigh is irrelevant for the hybrid system as it is in line with the engine, not a true hybrid. What maters is the battery, proven tech, and the motor, also proven tech.
That thing is awesome looking!
Too bad no V6.
Really. Looks like a Nissan xTerra. Toyota fanboys are so strange sometimes. You can’t real,y think it looks good do you?
@billricheter5678 well, before my current Toyota I owned a Nissan Xterra. 🙂
@@DaveInCanada081 I have a 1998nissan frontier that the xTerra was based on. Wish they still made the xTerra. Would prefer it to the 4 runner which is just too big
@@billricheter5678 the 4Runner must be close in size to the Chevy Yukon. Huge! 👀
@@DaveInCanada081 it’s just too big imho.mwas hoping it would smaller not bigger. It’s a pass from me. Also looks horrible

like the looks
KWH kilowatt hour
Topping out my LIKE meter. Don’t mind the location of the Toyota logo but it better not be raised block lettering. Those are a B|]€h to clean around.
What about the manual?
Hope to get that news at the official launch tonight
Ummm pass. I’ll keep my 2020 runner trd pro
How it leaked ?
We discuss it in the 1st 30 seconds of the video
It looks ok. But nothing really special or new.
Those fenders are just too much..should have been an option. IMHO Gen 5 better looking
Looks like they made it smaller.
ITs 2.7" loner and 2 wider I believe
Not super in love with the design so far. It looks a bit puffy and inflated vs the 5th Gen. Time will tell if these are real or just renders.
The only thing im loving about this is that throw back rear side window. Disappointed in that fat front bumper.
Wow, so underwhelmed. Tacoma with an extended roof. Really sucks
There is nothing wrong if it's a Tacoma in a SUV body .That's what 4 runner always been for a long time.😒
And so does the current gen 4-runner....and all the other 4-runner generations.
Makes the old model look extremely dated.
Eeeeeh, i think ill start sinkin money into my 21 ORP with KDSS now that i've seen the 6th gen.. not really feeling the V4 Turbo and no option for KDSS
People crying are people who can’t afford it or pissed because they just bought something else.
😔 Why no V6 WHY TOYOTA WHY!!!!! 😑 Just hope they reconsider this option down the line because if we wanted a 4cyl, we all would be buying a trd rav4!! Really dont understand their decision making IF they dont have the v6
@Anomize23• 😒NEW TURBO I4 AND HYBRID turbo I4 are excellent engines with Great power performance torque and more. So why the hell they give a V6.you stubborn and people who hate change had your fun for 16 years by ruining Toyota in the off road market by giving so much sales for wrangler or bronco.how about you let the full Majority of people enjoy a bloody good SUV for a change.😤 You annoying outdated and brand ruining fan.
US CAFE standards and your federal government EPA standards. That's the only reason.
@@russelljones2468 Would love a hybrid before a turbo Anyday!!! AT LEAST THEIR HYBRIDS been successful
@@mylifeislegendary386-hb3us it better be a hybrid for your sake of coming back because turbos and dirt dont mix! No not all turbos are great. Chevy fords and VWs especially are known for this issue. Lets learn more from someone who works on vehicles for a living. Toyota didn’t come out with a magic wand, and say everything is reliable now
@@Anomize23 😂🤣😂🤣. unlike Ford or gm. Toyota has lots of experience with turbo trucks and engines.so it's not a magic but experience. It's wrong and delusional to use Ford gm vw as a example. turbo and dirt does mix very well. People like you Are fear mongering and delusional .so please keep your long lecture of bullshit in your a**
Paying more for a four cylinder ?
Forbes deleted it
Why do they have to use corny names like " trail hunter " leave those to Jeep, please .
I prefer the Land Cruiser
Definitely, the new 4 runner and Taco just have way too many conflicting angles all over , over designed by a long shot , if I had to choose 1 it would be the Land Cruiser
Glad I bought my 2022 ORP
Without a question.. this truck looks like shit… the oversized finders… the back the round windshield etc
Respectfully.. it looks like crap
Mexico or Japan?
Japan im sure
What makes you think Japan?
@@sebfrett4004 It could be at the Mexican plant but traditionally its a Japan built product.
@@AllTerrainNation yeah the tahara plant but I was thinking mexico since a lot of 4runner aspects look tacoma-ish.
Wish they woulda did a little something with removing the top like the bronco lol
They could really make the front much better it look's to much like the Tacoma. It loose's the 4runner vibe😢
I want it with the 2.8L Diesel they get overseas
