      Concept wise - yes
Unfortunately the PC version has problems of it's own - especially in terms of length - without the platforming sections the PC version is barely an hour long. Pajama Sam, Freddy Fish, Putt-Putt, Spy Fox (and so on) had AT LEAST a handful of hours (or more) worth of puzzles and fun animations to play through
As it is - we BARELY get a taste of what made Tiny Toons good before

"The audience for the series were adults at the time"

    • @buster3041
      @buster3041 Před 4 lety +58

It always annoys me when folks from my era (born in 94) and before act like if you didn't grow up with shows, games, trends etc when they initially came out then they think believe there's no way someone born after that time could have seen or understood that generations love for them.
My earliest memories obviously go back to either 99 or 2000. And i only caught the ending of one episode of tiny toons and one episode of animaniacs on cartoon network. I don't remember anything beyond the themes, character designs and me liking what i saw.
I believe i only had to go somewhere which is why i only saw the intro to tiny toons.
But i know i wanted to see more of these shows and was hoping for a rerun. So i checked everyday for a week and was pissed when there wasn't even a glimpse of either show on anymore.
I was baffled as to why but of course i didn't know they were old shows airing in reruns and weren't made for my demographic anymore.
Though i did get to see plenty of freakazoid and pinky and the brain. I didn't know why at the time but they felt familiar.
But thankfully early 2000s and whatever was able to leave the 90s filled any void left open by the cancellation of the tiny toons and animaniacs reruns.

Konami has a solid track record when it comes to Tiny Toon Adventures video games. The 1991 NES Game of the same name, Babs' Big Break on Game Boy, Buster Busts Loose on SNES, and Buster's Hidden Treasure on Sega Genesis are all great games. After 1994, Konami gave the license to Atari so they could release a TTA video game for their ill-fated Jaguar system. What a mistake that was, because not only did the game never get released (despite being advertised in certain magazine ads), but the license was passed over to companies such as Terraglyph and Warthog, who made games such as these.
My preferred method of playing video games is on either Nintendo or Sega consoles, and these TTA video games are one of the reasons why.
One more thing, the Tiny Toon Adventures voice cast did get together one last time for an unreleased PS2 game, Defenders of the Universe. Charlie Adler even reprised his role as Buster, marking the first time he voiced Buster since he quit in late 1992 after being denied a part on Animaniacs.

I'm not even sure why people were even making Tiny Toons games after the show ended. The whole point of cashing in on a TV show is because that show is still on the air or popular enough with its demographic. And as they stated in the review, most of the fans that grew up with this show were already old enough that these games wouldn't have appealed to them at all because they were made for a younger audience. Whoever gave these games the greenlight clearly didn't know what they were doing...

Tiny Toons received a lot of repeats via syndication, with local channels where I live still running the episodes daily all the way into the 2000s (coming home from high school as late as 2004 I could catch Tiny Toons back to back with the latest Digimon episode if I so desired.)
I'm honestly surprised it apparently got new episodes for as short a time as it did: I'd have assumed the show ran for at least five years simply due to how often it aired.

He successfully built the time machine (which was made from a bathtub) and he went into the past to trade places with himself so that he could do his homework again however it still didn't end well for him as he didn't do his homework and the future (or present) Plucky told him next time just to do his homework instead of goofing off. The last line was "Maybe I should build a time machine to get that jerk back".

I feel like I've played this once before as a kid but I can't for the life remember where, when, or if I even did play it.

I actually have nostalgia for The Great Beanstalk.
I remember it was one of the few games my parents got for me and my brother when we were kids, and I remember all the little jokes and animations and stuff when you clicked on things in the point and click sections. I remember watching my brother go through the platforming sections. I loved that game to death and never knew why.
I know I know. Its objectively bad. That being said, I love it and would love to play through it again. It's got a special place in my heart
