I am 63 years old this month. I have diabetes and my eyes are not as good as they used to be. I have my best luck using a Red Dot sight at shorter ranges like this with my AR Carbine.
I think the accuracy and build quality is pretty good for this Air rifle however, I am completely disappointed and aggravated by all of the manufacturers inflating the velocity numbers of their guns. This is just dishonest and there is no truth in advertising. What are they breaking 1000 fps with a Q-tip?
They say they are using alloy pellets at those speeds. Usually take 100 fps off for lead. You don't want much over 900 fps anyway. Pellets tend to not be very accurate over 800-900 fps.
There isn’t a single pellet gun brand that has correct velocity numbers they’re all 2/300 lower then advertised, who cares tho what you gonna do with that extra fps, that has nothing to do with penetration

Good review, in all honesty the pellets you used are very marginal. Your accuracy would probably improve with a JSB or H&N brand pellet also the stock scews need period adjustments as they loosen from the rifles recoil. Clean the scews and the screw holes with brake clean, let dry, then use some blue or red loctite on the screws. Always clean a new air rifle barrel and as you shoot it the piston seal will seat and excess oils and grease should burn off.
From experience this rifle is GARBAGE, I have owned it for 13 months in the stock configuration. The included scope is impossible to zero. I'm a former Marine and shot a 290 on the rifle range. This is a horrible rifle due to tremendous recoil from the nitrogen charged cylinder. I would recommend any PCP regulated Pellet rifle if you want any type of ACCURACY! Now you know, Pass this one buy.
So I’ve been looking at a few different air rifles , reviews , accuracy, dependability, and of course cost , with the high cost of ammo theses days I thought well an air rifle would be a great alternative ! So I really liked the looks of the Bear Creek Black Opps and it seemed to have ok reviews ,but Walmart no longer Carries them , and I wanted an air rifle that looked like a target rifle , was in Walmart and had seen the Ruger Air Hawk Elite ll .177 cal. 1200 fps. With alloy pellets and 1000 fps with lead pellets , the cost of everything now has gone up so much , 12/18/21. It was $147 bucks I bought 2- cans of daisy 177 . Pointed lead and 1 can of crosman 7.9 gr. Hollow points , it’s all they had , I will try different ammo , the rifle I’m guessing is made in Germany ( subcontracted by Ruger ) and the scope says made in China 👈🏼🤣 ya I know I’m going to get another but it’s what I had to work with since I just bought it , tried it out after mounting the scope without and adjustments to it , at 25 yds. Put three in a silver dollar sized circle ⭕️ , and was surprised, now this rifle is heavy ! It weighs a little over 8 lbs, and free standing it’s a beast to hold up , it’s got a solid construction, the poly stock is thick and the fit is very good , over all for right now I think it’s a great rifle but time will tell on dependability, I’m having fun shooting again at a reasonable cost 👍.
Congrats Dave, Recently I bought 2 22LR rifles (AR and lever action) and 1 single action revolver Ruger Wrangler due to price of ammunitions on other calibers. Price of 22LR ammunition is still reasonable and it's fun to shoot within 10 yards. Thanks for sharing n Merry Christmas.
@@vameathunter2771 , ya I to just bought a Chiappa AR 22.LR , came with 2 -28 round magazines, it’s really fun to shoot and I just got a Center Point 3-12 by44mm scope and rings can’t wait to get to the range and sight it in , but this Ruger I can shoot in the back yard and the only gripe I have is it’s heavy and loud , ( geeze now I need a silencer 😳). I am 63 years old this month. I have diabetes and my eyes are not as good as they used to be.
I have my best luck using a Red Dot sight at shorter ranges like this with my AR Carbine.
Yep! Red Dot would be great.
Red dots work good on pellet guns and are fun for night hunting with a flashlight
@@dustinh4175 Sounds great.
I just got mine for hunting
Congrats and best of luck bro.
Just bought one today, shooting half dollar groups at 30 yards, hits hard too, I put a better scope on mine
Congrats bro! Sounds like you are a great shooter. Thanks for watching n God bless.
What kind of scope?
@@raiderlee69lee48 Bushnell , one that used to be on a 30.06
Thanks. Bushnell makes a good scope.
Very good demonstration. If that was your shooting with open sights, the groups looked good. I don't think you have "aging eyes".
😂😂😂thanks bro n God bless.
Hello, thinking of buy this for a small older senior man. Is the barrel easy and light to break?
It's not very easy and it really depends on the elder's physical condition but I think it should be ok.
How powerful and good is it for hunting
Within 30 yards small games should not be a problem ;-)
I like mine .
Great! God bless.
@@vameathunter2771 God Bless you also .
I agree with you 100% bro. God bless.
They get those numbers using PBA platinum pellets for max speed
They say they are using alloy pellets at those speeds. Usually take 100 fps off for lead. You don't want much over 900 fps anyway. Pellets tend to not be very accurate over 800-900 fps.
There isn’t a single pellet gun brand that has correct velocity numbers they’re all 2/300 lower then advertised, who cares tho what you gonna do with that extra fps, that has nothing to do with penetration
Prueba , con 18 y 21 grains, es probable necesite peso y copa más larga.
A #4 buckshot weighs 20.7 grains, can a properly swaged lead BB be fired from a 22 caliber break action rifle?
I don't know but I wouldn't try it.
Okay, thank you
Mine shoots down hard. The sights are jacked all the way up and it still is wayyy off… how do you fix that?
WOW! Maybe scope? If not send it back to Ruger.
would you kindly take 10 minutes and remove the screws from your stock and see if the back of the scope mount is cracked on your rifle and post update... particularly the AFT trigger guard screw via nut and plastic base...thanks for your time
We are now actually using the open sights and we do not see any cracks.
@@vameathunter2771 Bummer you took the scope off during your long term testing...i have seen the scope mount crack below the stock at the aft trigger guard screw the cracked rail is causing the scope regardless of the quality to shift every time you cock the rifle... what a major letdown in design and accuracy not a hand me down rifle
@@BB-jq6ek Man that sucks, thanks for the info brother.
@@BB-jq6ek Trying to see if your front sight looks like it was put on canted? Mine isn't noticable unless you set the butt on the floor and look down towards the rear site from the muzzle end.. mine is at 11 o'clock when looking from muzzle to butt🤷
@@hope4ourfallen first off let me say that it was a complete PAIN IN THE ASS to warranty this rifle on the first issue of the scope mount being defective and many other rifles will definitely crack and have the same issue... I had to repeatedly ask via email to have the warranty department too pay for the return shipping because I bought from Walmart and didn't directly buy from Umarex... after much frustration they replaced my rifle which I sold for 75% of cost just to avoid this company in the future best of luck my friend... Emarex quality control and warranty department can go F themselves 👍👍👍👍
What size/type is the mount? It looks pretty wide.
sorry, It's been awhile so I don't remember and it's not my rifle.
How many pellets can you load with out having to reload?
It's a single shot.
Thanks
I’m new to air rifles, does this need gas? Sorry if it’s a dumb question
Nope it does not need gas but single cocking of the barrel refills the air you need to shot single shot and not it's not a dumb question ;-)
I was wondering the same Southerner Andre
@@billykitchell9406 :-)
Will it lose power in the long run?
I really don't think so unless you do a lot of shooting.
Just bought my son this gun ...scope stinks couldn't group anything put a Bushnell banner scope on it and it's ridiculous how accurate it is
Congrats and you are a great dad.
Where can I buy one of these
Walmart or online.
Not need the gas tank for that rifle?
Nope, happy new year.
Bro u fast-forward the part I wanted to see😂 how to open the riffle
LOL! Sorry you just cock it.
What kind of watch are you wearing?
Rolex Gold ;-)
I thought so! Beautiful watch man 👍🏼
@@conqueeftador245 Thanks bro.
Is this air rifle take co2 cartage
No, it's barrel cocking air rifle.
Is it loud?
No. ;-)
Is is real wood?
Yes 😁
Works well but bowl is really shallow.
YUP! Thanks for watching.
Seems like you made better shots with open sights.
LOL! Cheap scope. Happy new year!
@@vameathunter2771 Happy New Year man!
It be nice if the camera was set were the target is instead of it being in front of yourself
Thanks for the feedback 😁
How much that break barrel?
It's about $250.
150$ at Walmart
Good review, in all honesty the pellets you used are very marginal. Your accuracy would probably improve with a JSB or H&N brand pellet also the stock scews need period adjustments as they loosen from the rifles recoil. Clean the scews and the screw holes with brake clean, let dry, then use some blue or red loctite on the screws. Always clean a new air rifle barrel and as you shoot it the piston seal will seat and excess oils and grease should burn off.
Thank you for watching and your info brother, God bless.
Scope needs adjustments bad.
This type air rifle is hard on scopes.
Dude u did not show how to install scope properly
Sorry, on my channel I have shown how to mount scope and I really didn't want it to repeat it over n over again. Thanks for watching n God bless.
Pest control
YUP!😁
From experience this rifle is GARBAGE, I have owned it for 13 months in the stock configuration. The included scope is impossible to zero. I'm a former Marine and shot a 290 on the rifle range. This is a horrible rifle due to tremendous recoil from the nitrogen charged cylinder. I would recommend any PCP regulated Pellet rifle if you want any type of ACCURACY! Now you know, Pass this one buy.
Thanks for sharing the information, I'll pass it on the the owner of this rifle.
The way you talking took away my attention.
Thanks 😆
Back at ya Merry Christmas 🎄
@@davescheer5038 Congrats bro! Christmas is great time give yourself a presents LOL!
Just bought one, wont shoot and my safety couldnt go back to safety 🥲
Damn, sorry to hear that :-(
Great video, thanks!
My pleasure n thanks for watching.
