If you are wanting to go for a walk after eating to lower your glucose levels, but its too cold, dark, or dangerous out join me for an indoor walk! Indoor walking is amazing because you can do it from the comfort of your own home for incredible fitness benefits.
Going for a walk after a meal can help reduce blood sugar levels, even if it’s just for a few short minutes. When you eat a meal-particularly one heavy in carbohydrates-it’s normal for your blood sugar levels, or the amount of glucose in your blood, to sometimes spike temporarily. This spike in blood sugar typically triggers the release of a hormone called insulin, which allows the glucose to leave your bloodstream and enter your cells, where it’s used for energy. If the body consistently has very high spikes in blood sugar and is routinely pumping out more insulin, cells can eventually stop responding to insulin and become insulin resistant. This break in the balance can lead to prediabetes and type 2 diabetes. But new research shows that taking a quick walk after meals can help lower blood sugar levels, and potentially reduce the chances of developing cardiovascular disease or diabetes.
In this video I am using a Nutrisense CGM to monitor my blood glucose levels before, during and after my indoor walk. Nutrisense is bringing continuous glucose monitors (aka CGM’s) to the masses. I’m 50 pounds overweight. Recently I had my gallbladder removed. In preparation for the surgery I did a month of very low fat(almost no fat ) diet and did this walk after meals at least once a day.
I lost a lot more weight than what I have lost in a month in the past. I give credit to the walking after meal for this great positive difference!
Now that I’ve recovered from the surgery I am very excited to continue these walks and eat a better diet. Health is so important!
I’m 63 and hope I had done this a long time ago. But better late than never!

1451 steps….. I LOVE this 10 min walk I have done it every evening before bed since I found it 4 weeks ago , helps me sleep better. I recently started using it as a wam up for my daily workout. Sometimes I am just not in the mood but I start walking to my favorite songs, once the walk is over I’m ready for boxing. ❤

Hi!! I am roughly 34 weeks pregnant and I have gestational diabetes. It’s cold where I live with it being winter and it’s get super dark early !! I came across the video because I ate something that spiked my sugars and I wanted to get moving to lower my blood glucose! Thank you for sharing! 😊

Hello from my tour in France. I’m a Patreon member who is so grateful for your videos that help me stay motivated at home and when I’m being a road warrior for work. But this time while I’m averaging 6-8 miles and 18 flights of steps daily , your workouts are in the hotel rooms with me to help me settle down for the night, following a day of fun walks, amazing food, cobblestone hills and stairs. Your workouts helped this flat surface only, zero inclines, Florida girl get prepped beforehand and is still helping me during a fantastic tour.

My mom is 75 and diabetic since last 15-16 years. Her sugar before this workout of 199. Random blood sugar. And after the workout which came to 152. Great exercise. I suggested her to do your excerice everday. Would be really nice if you can show some more other 'sitting in chair' exercises for senior Diabetic adults of her age. Thank you very much. I've been feeling depressed and having a hard time doing easy tasks such as moving and cooking healthy food. Recently I made a list of things that require minimum effort to do in the mornings in order to not spiral into depression and anxiety after waking up, such as drinking a glass of water, sitting down in a sunny spot, etc. I've been meaning to incorporate movement on my list for a while now, but it is hard for me because I feel tired, then just give up on doing it every day, and suddenly I don't do any movement at all. I tried your video today and your positive talk made me feel better about moving my body and not pressured to do x amount of time or high-intensity exercises. So thank you so much! Your kindness has motivated me and I'll be doing more of your light movement exercises.
The closer you get to God and learn about his ways, the less depression you will have. Find a bible study group. So that you can get some support. God Bless!!
