Improve your heart health with this easy-to-follow 1-mile walk at home. Walking is one of the best low-impact workouts you can do to improve your wellness. The best part about walking is that you can do it anywhere, even at home! My indoor walking workouts are beginner-friendly, low-impact, and simple to follow so that you can get moving consistently to see fitness results. Not only do these workout videos help keep your heart strong, they also aid in digestion, tone muscles, and improve your brain health. What’s not to love about that?!
I made this 20-minute indoor walk thanks to my cardiologist brother who requested a video he could give to his patients who needed safe exercise to follow that would benefit their cardiovascular health and fitness level. This video is doctor approved but as always please consult with your health care team for personalized exercise recommendations.
If you are wearing a fitness tracker, I want you to track your heart rate and step count during the workout. Every time you complete this workout I want you to aim to get a few more steps than you did the time before. Consistency is the key to results, so use this workout 2-4 times per week or more. When you are ready to progress, join me on Patreon for my follow-along fitness calendar program which will guide you through a daily schedule of workouts to keep your body balanced and fit.
In this 20-minute routine, we have a 5-minute warm-up, 10-minute walk, and 5-minute cooldown for a well-rounded workout. Each minute is 30 seconds of indoor walking and 30 seconds of exercise. If the exercise ever feels like too much, just stick with the indoor walk. You can’t do this wrong if you keep moving! Just put one foot in front of the other and you are a mile ahead of yourself if you had stayed on the couch. Are you ready to get started? Day 77😅😅😅🎉. Happy Birthday USA🎉. As a tradition, we're going to watch movie "1776" today. One young neighbor is preparing host a party in the backyard. The neighbor on the other side of our house are relaxing on their backyard too with their 4 year old and a year and half black english labrador. What a beautiful picture 🎉. We’re very happy to see young neighbors move to our neighborhood and start their families here. It's life ❤.
You are awesome Caroline. I had an HBA1c of 12 and was able to bring it down to 6.3 in 4 months' time. I did a lot of changes to my diet and included 10-minute exercises 1.5 hours after my meal time. i also do stairs up and down 1.5 hours after a meal whenever I can. That along with a green smoothie and some healthy lifestyle changes got me the results. My doctor was astonished to see my results. Your workouts are really good and fun too. Thanks so much for all the great workout videos that you share. I like variety so i dont get bored doing the same. And you have put up so many great videos. Day 75 😅😅😅🎉. I'm very glad to see neighbor crossing street hang vertical American flag banners on two front doors this morning. I have small flags in my front yard gardens every year after winter is over. It reminds me it's time to wear my Americana outfit to celebrate our nation's birthday 🎉🎉🎉

Just did another one after dinner! Why sit on the couch watching TV? I could do it while watching TV. It's good for maintaining good blood sugar after dinner! I could even change the speed to 0.75 or skip a couple of movements with marching.

Just did the 3rd round of the day a while after dinner 😅😅. It's hot, but it's not as hot as yesterday. I noticed how strong and tuned my legs are. I used to have tuned legs during my career years. I mostly use stairs instead of elevator with the front half of high heels on steps. Since early retired 3 years ago, legs are shrink! This program is really good for the legs. Remember people say when you're aging, legs age first. I think I reversed, hauled and slowed the aging process. This is outside improvement that I can see. I bet there's big improvement inside on the cellular level. In addition, by continuing to do this comprehensive program through the summer will build up my body 's endurance. Keep working out, one session a time like building the temple, one brick a time. Our body is our temple 🛕 😅🎉

Just done the 2nd round of the day 😅. While I was doing it, I was thinking, by doing this everyday i will maintain my independence for as long as possible into my old age. Being independent, seating at the driver's seat in life is extremely important to me.

Just done 2nd round of the day. I ate some chickpea pasta mixed with sliced chicken, ground beef and cilantro. The workout after dinner smoth out the blood sugar curve easily.
Just finished 2nd round of the day 😅🎉. I'm getting better in terms of endurance. To increase load, I extend each movement well into the in-between marching.

Day 10. Woo-hoo 🎉 Feel good 👍. No pain, no gain? The whole time I have smiles on my face while i was doing this routine! Who's not to smile when you are feeling better day by day. Just did another session 40 minutes after lunch. My dexcom g7 shows 134 with 45 degree up arrow while i was sitting on sofa and reading. I stand up and started to do this routine. 10 minutes later, it shows 117 with a horizontal arrow. After i finish the session, the suger reading is 85. I wear the CGM for health monitoring purpose only so that i won't develop diabetes in my 60s or 70s. This easy, flexible and adjustable, small yet powerful routine helps me to keep my peak after meal blood suger stay within 150. Mission accomplished.

I love this workout. especially love the punches exercise in this video. but I'll have to go easy on the punch throwing as I injured myself when I was doing another punch, punch, kick move. yeah, I was little too aggressive with it the first time. lol

I got 2,140 steps and my HR got up to 149 bpm, but only briefly. Most of the time it was in the 120s. For me, it takes some 2,700 steps to get a mile, so I don't worry much about how far I've gone. I worry more about how many zone minutes (fat burn, cardio, and peak) I get on my Fitbit. Today, I got 16 minutes. My goal is 22 (because cardio and peak count double).
Most important, I feel pretty good.
One more thought: For those who have trouble and can't do the full 20 minutes, I do love to point out that five minutes or ten minutes is better than zero minutes. Isn't that right?
I love to workout just as much as you do. I feel so good after my workouts. I really feel like my weight is just like melting off of me very slowly but it's coming off ever since I have been working out to your workout videos. Well done on your workouts. :)
