If you struggle with high blood pressure, you are not alone. As a certified fitness coach people are always surprised to hear that I have to watch my blood pressure. Hypertension runs in my family and if i'm not careful my blood pressure creeps UP there. In fact I can hear my 100 year old grandmother (yes she's 100!) in my head all the time reminding me to “cut the salt honey. You can't have salt in your life with our family genes!” That’s one reason I choose to lead a healthy lifestyle and stay active. I can keep my blood pressure low without medication through exercise and diet. In this video, I want to show you a quick low impact workout that can be used in the management of high blood pressure.
Exercise lowers blood pressure by reducing blood vessel stiffness so blood can flow more easily. The effects of exercise are most noticeable during and immediately after a workout.
One way to combat high blood pressure might be to break up your workout into several sessions throughout the day. In fact, one study found that three 10-minute walks a day more effectively prevented future blood pressure spikes than one 30-minute trek per day. But if you cant make it outdoors to get your steps in, this 10 minute low impact home workout combines dynamic exercises that are safe to do multiple times throughout your day to keep your blood pressure in a good place. In this routine we have 10 different exercises performed for one minute sequenced back to back. Once we start there are no programmed breaks, but of course listen to your body and modify as needed to meet yourself where you are at today. The goal is just to get moving to feel better together for 10 minutes total.
Daily exercise not only helps control high blood pressure but it also helps manage your weight, strengthen your heart and reduce stress. Trust me nothing feels better than taking control and seeing your health improve. So join me and keep your blood pressure in check the natural way. Use this workout 2-3 times per day for at least a week. Make sure to monitor your blood pressure numbers and share what positive health effects you experience below in the comments.
When it comes to taking care of yourself and improving your health I want you to remember: you can do anything you set your mind to. Are you ready? YOU CAN DO THIS! Let's get moving!
    Positive Feel Good Fitness,

Wow - I did this workout this morning for the first time , I’ve been up since 5am as my BP is creeping up to 170/115 and I’ve been worrying about it. So I typed in Exercises to reduce BP in CZcams and this video popped up. I did the workout once, sat and did some slow breathing exercises for 5 mins . My BP before the exercise was 158/115. Afterwards it was 127/97. I did a second reading to confirm 129/98.
I will be incorporating this workout into my daily routine at least once a day, i will comment again in a months time to update if anyone is interested.
    Thankyou Caroline for this video.

@@lylianmunoz3856 unfortunately I went into AFib the week before New Year’s Eve. I was taken to the hospital. I remained there for 2 1/2 days. The doctors said my lab work was good, but they had to regulate my pulse. They put me on 3 different medications. Eliquis, a statin, which I got off of the day after I came home because my cholesterol is normal, and a blood pressure pill. Metoprolol. After being home a couple days I felt like a zombie so they changed the blood pressure medication to Nebivolol. I’ve never had high blood pressure….no previous medications. I’’m 75 and in excellent shape. Yoga every day, walk, garden, and very active. The cardiologist thought I was 60. So when he looked at my chart again he doubled the meds because of my age! That is western medicine for you! We are treated as chronologically not biologically old. I’m doing my best to work toward getting off the medications. I took the 3 Covid shots and the last one almost killed me. That was 2 years ago. And I truly believe that the vaccines are what cause my heart issues. Sorry this is so long winded. I am going to start back with this video and do it daily and I’m recording all my blood pressure and pulse info. When it continues to get really low I will March back into the cardiologist and tell him I need to get off the meds. I eat healthy, get plenty of rest and exercise and have a deep faith. But no faith in the drug companies or western medical people. Good luck to you.

hi. My name is Domenick and I am 54 years old. I have been on BP medication now for about 20 years. High BP runs in my family. For the past 3 months have been walking quite a bit each day, about 12,500 steps, 6-7 days per week. I walk for about 1 hour early in the morning and for about 1/2 hr after lunch. I monitor my BP regularly and noticed my numbers going down to a consistent 110/65 so I decided to stop taking my meds. I have been checking my pressure 3 x per day and it has remained under 120/80 for over a week now. I did also lose 15 lbs however i have lost weight in the past (without exercise) and still needed to take my BP meds. I really do think walking every day is what made a huge difference. I will continue checking my BP each day for at least a month and will let my cardiologist aware of what i'm doing.

From BP readings like 159/115 the morning I started to a new normal of 117/75 like this mornings’ reading and very regularly as low as 110/70 during random checks through the day…I’m losing inches and pounds and checking up on myself frequently about how I’m eating, sleeping, and managing stress also from your gentle reminders. I’m very thankful i came across your video~ About a week ago, my bp hit close to 160/100 consistently for a few days despite being on medication. Then i did this workout and immediately my bp dropped to 135/90.
I love that the exercises are simple and takes only 10 mins. I’ve done this and another bedtime workout everyday for past 9 days and my bp maintained at 120s/80s so far :) Thank you so much for this video!! I’m hoping it goes lower and I’ll be able to wean off my medication soon! 💪🏼

New here. Been feeling dizzy and like I’m gonna faint and when I went to the hospital my blood pressure was high. HBP runs in my family. I’ve been noticing it a lot more in the last few months. I have now to the point where I feel scared that I’m going to have a stroke or something. I got blood work done an EKG and a chest x-ray and everything came up as negative so I’m at the point where I’m not really sure what to do but I don’t want to feel like this anymore, starting with these exercises and going to work on a better diet plan. I do work out daily, but since I’ve been feeling dizzy, I need to do low impact. Great video. I started crying as I started doing it because I’m feeling hopeful but you had me smiling at the end, thank you thank you.

Take some potassium or eat more in your diet. The best thing to fight high blood pressure is to increase potassium. They always say lower sodium but that's false. Sodium is a electrolyte that is needed for daily function. But your body doesn't use it right without enough potassium. Especially if you drink caffeine alot or other things that are diuretic. Because it flushes out your potassium. So adding that to your diet more, take pills or eat more garlic. And some low impact workout will help alot.

    • @RR-fn6dm
      @RR-fn6dm Před 3 měsíci +1

@@hairpunut thank you! I did start taking potassium. I did not drink much caffeine but I eliminated that. I went to the dr and everything looked good. She said my blood work looks great and of course after all that testing and medical bills with no answers-I feel perfectly fine now. I’m wondering if I had a virus of some sort. Idk but thank you so much for the advice 🙏🙌 hopefully I won’t go through this again.

@@RR-fn6dm Well I'm glad everything is better now. I know a lot of people were also affect by long covid during and after the pandemic. One way to treat that is good vitamin C intake and Vitamin D believe it or not. Vitamin D was found to be depleted in alot of people. So switching to high amount of meats more often. And intaking good red meats helped to counter alot of illness. It's better for your gut and overall health.

Every workout will lower your blood pressure. Its cuz your body needs to cool down and its doing so by dilating blood vessels so it can faster pump blood around the body.
And by doing that pressure falls down. Wider the veins lowe the pressure. No magic here.
