- These daily vlog posts are trial and error attempts to learn how to video b-roll better and tell a story both visually as well as verbally. I am using only the iPhone 15 Pro Max and the PYGTech Mantispod Z at the moment. No extra lighting. No tripods. No microphones. Eventually, I will add some other equipment. Right now, however, the focus is on getting the video and learning how to entertwine it together in editing to create a more compelling story.

The light may have been bright but the sound of rain, sound of cutting parchment paper, sound of opening hot dog package and silent video was perfect! Those are all the positives. Also the shot in refrigerator was excellent. Joan

I have always struggled with enjoying your kitchen videos because of the lighting. But the recipes win me over where they even make it to my “saved” file, despite the light quality. I’m glad you are working on this kitchen light issue!!

Lighting is definitely tough. I can't seem to find the right light for when I shoot indoors. I do enjoy all your daily videos and appreciate the discussions or explanations that you provide at the end of each one.

All good and well. BUT…They key thing that I learned today was how to store my foil and parchment paper! Upright in a little trash bin! What else do you have in there⁉️.

I could see how it was all too bright. Practice and experiment seems to be the key to success. Light can be so variable, especially if there is a window in the room. But, yes, that overhead light does not do any favors.
Cool slow motion. And I like salt, an essential nutrient.. But on bacon🤔? hmmm.
The market style bacon at Fresh Market doesn’t have much salt to taste. So I kick it up a notch.

How about replacing the light fixture in the kitchen with a dimmable light that you have some control over. I changed our similar light fixture in our kitchen to 4 recessed lights on a dimmer. Changes everything about the lighting in that space.
I may eventually do that. I’ve considered it. But that costs money!!! 😂
@@LifeInMotionDiaries I would consider changing the light out for yourself. It updates the look of your kitchen giving you a cleaner more modern look, and increases the value of your mom’s home. Getting a better recording environment is just lagniappe. But ultimately it’s a aesthetic choice and not a crucial imperative😬

Ok Ok I watched it - not all that bad. Don't you use Davinci Resolve for editing? Could you not fix most of those issues with the color tab? Asking for a friend.
