    These daily vlog posts are trial and error attempts to learn how to video b-roll better and tell a story both visually as well as verbally. I am using only the iPhone 15 Pro Max and the PYGTech Mantispod Z at the moment. No extra lighting. No tripods. No microphones. Eventually, I will add some other equipment. Right now, however, the focus is on getting the video and learning how to entertwine it together in editing to create a more compelling story.
    If you are interested in purchasing a PYGTech Mantispod Z for your own use, please consider using my affiliate link with Adorama. It will help support the channel. adorama.rfvk.net/3ez1bX

    I agree. The mic 2 is still the best.

    The DJI mic 2 certainly seems to be worth the money.

    Seems the "shotgun mic" sounds like a bad, staticky telephone line which dissipated as you talked; heard the birds chirping sweetly though. "Mic 2" immediately a better quality, rich tone. Switching to "Shotgun Mic" brought a soft wind static back. "V6" sounds a bit tinny but at least it picks up your voice at a distance. Thank you for sharing the testing and review, Tim! (Your smile as you're looking upon the furry mic is fun - I'm somehow reminded of seeing the animation in the movie, "Labyrinth" with the animated characters; delightful.)

    Knowing next to nothing and much less having had to test microphones myself, it’s interesting how different they are quality-wise, like anything I guess, and I thought that anything going through the “dead cat” cover would be muffled rather than filtered. 😂🤷🏻‍♀️ The DJI Mic 2 seemed to sound the best, to me, anyway. 😊 Have a good day!

    I noticed when you were talking about the Rode Mic, it turned the light off in your house. LOL

      Yeah. I’m not sure what’s going on with the light over my table. It goes on and off at will. 😂

      @@LifeInMotionDiaries Better check the wall plug in case a wire is loose. (unless the lamp does it in other plugs)

      @@Good-DaySunshine It isn't a lamp. It is the two-light system hanging over my dining room table and wired through the ceiling. I'm going to have to have someone look at it for sure.

    I think the Mic you prefer does have the best sound quality. Unless there is a good reason to use the rode shotgun, why bother. I definitely prefer listening to videos where the person is wearing a mic even one of lesser quality. That way when they turn their head, or walk away, I can still hear them loud and clear.
    And just a side note, if you can leave the words on the screen longer when doing these comparisons, that would be helpful for those of us with slower brains. 🤔 It helps me to match the audio quality to the correct product name. Maybe I need to drink coffee instead of tea to get all eight cylinder firing...

    I have a couple times noticed I didn't have any sound in one ear, now I know why, didn't bother me, thought it was my computer. I know nothing about these things.

    I am wondering, why these microphones have fuzzy carpet type covers on them? These are what I'm seeing on many channels. Is this some type of buffer against static and or noise?

    • @LifeInMotionDiaries
      @LifeInMotionDiaries  Před 28 dny +2

      They dampen things like wind noise and the hard “puh” sounds when we say words that start with “p”. They are very helpful outdoors. Totally useless inside.

    Yuck the Rode was too punchy sounding. Give the fuzzy thing to a young Grand who still plays with Barbie- looks like a big furry hat. 😊🎉
