Great interview, learned a lot, especial that I need one of these!
AWESOMEEEEEEEEEEEEE VIDEOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
This was a top tier interview/walk thru. Good, straight questions, you let him talk most of the time, no annoyingly loud music, plus great information.

Yes SIR! I appreciate your support! Thanks for showing up today! :-)

DITTO!
Nice work.
Try to buy one! Too many delivery date push backs. China wins again.
A clue to trusting small business owners is how well they know their products. The faded t-shirt and cargo shorts are also good clues because a suit and tie can make anyone look like they know their product. Lemme see the CEO of GE come out and point out the material thicknesses used in their products. Damn, i love this video!
this gentleman is so kind!!!
Years ago, I wanted to learn how to fly with ultralights. This was one of the first ones I looked into. Cool seeing how it all goes together.
Awesome to have the Aerolite 103.Come back, CONGRATS.
Dennis seems like a genuine fellow. I wish him all the best. This country and its economy needs more businesses like this to do well.
Until society learns the difference between currency and money, there is no escape.
Money has some precious metal as its primary ingredient, currency does not.
Money can be used as currency but currency can't be used as money.
Good work men! Great material, an engaging guest, and a host that actually lets him speak! I love Aerolite!😊👍
Nice to see ultralights coming back, there were years of a vacuum in the industry from when they first became popular.
I think they will be the next FASTEST growing segment in Aviation.
@@ExperimentalAircraftChannel Man, you were right to ask about the rivets! Hope they knock the mandrels out. I've seen even stainless rivets corrode in high airflow areas in a few flights.
I think one of reason is the high cost of experimental kits these days. A flyaway cost for a typical new Vans aircraft is closer to 125K and it can go higher for other kits making them out of reach for many people.
Thats because everyone that flew them crashed them
I was promised flying cars as a boy and now i can't afford the same used ultralights my jerk father would ridicule from within his P210 cockpit. Look up a Consumer Price Index graph that includes the last few decades of our ridiculous economy and you'll understand why.
The more I watch this, the more I fall in love with this plane!
Very detail construction and keeping a standard for each ultralight that is built.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️👍🏻👍🏻
It is my dream to own a part 103 legal ultralight. The Aerolite 103 looks amazing! I will be looking into them more. Thank you for the great videos!
Thanks for introducing 103 - Beauty with brain.
Thanks for the factory tour, the Aerolite 103 looks to be a very well designed machine.
Agreed! And YOU are very welcome! Thank You for watching!
Remembering that blue Airbike you sold me years back. I miss that plane!
This is the best looking ultra light I've seen on youtube.
I visited the Deland shop. Dennis and crew were wonderful hosts.
Agreed! Great conversations! Thank You for watching today!
You have convinced me. An excellent explanation of the build of this aircraft. It really looks well built.
I love how old school they are with regards to production.....nothing wrong with that at all.
Super clear video and well put together. Makes me want to buy one!
Dennis is top notch. Love the Aerolite 103
I Love Old-school Aircraft Manufacturing! I grew up with this technology.
Same, but with a lot more triangles in the design.
I’ve being following you guys for couple years, and I loved this video ... your aircraft is one of my dream🙏 thank you so much for the video, and GOD BLESS AEROLIGHT 103 🙏
Thank you for your feedback here. I enjoyed learning about the Aerolite 103 myself.
Excellent informative video , Dennis did a much better then average job of explaining his product and being an easy interview!👍🏻👍🏻
Very much so. Definitely makes my job easier not having the "PULL INFORMATION" out of the manufacturer/sales :-) Thank You for watching!
I really like the design. If I could afford one this would be my pick!
I enjoyed every moment. GREAT walk through and filming. And your prompts and bringing out certain important aspects for clarity or explanation really went well with Dennis's presentation. You really have to be impressed by his obvious hands on experience in every single part and aspect of the machine. Just a great video.
Thank You so very much for your support and encouragement. I appreciate YOU. I am really enjoying doing this and learning all the fine details of these designs personally as well. Thank You for taking the time to engage here!
Is this company still in Business????
I just love this 103 aircraft. It represents everything the ultralight aircraft design was envisioned to be. I worked as a Quality Engineer for Teleflex controls cables for a few years and I can honestly say there is no better cabling system being used on aircraft today. The close tolerance design & build in these control cables allows for a smooth operation with 0 backlash. Great tour Bryan but sometimes I wish I lived in Florida to be able to jump in one of these 103’s and go zoooming at the end of a day. A motorcycle for the air!!!!
A motorcycle... or a "GoKart" it is for sure. With wings. Thanks for saying hello! :-)
@@ExperimentalAircraftChannel Bryan, for $20,000 you don’t get anymore fun than this. Low maintenance & operating costs and if one has a decent amount of runway length for takeoffs and landings that would be the life just to go tooting around the skies on a nice clear day when a pilot could. I remember in 2019 when a 16 year old kid flew one to Oshkosh with his father following him all the way with the family SUV. He was well trained by his father who is a military trained commercial CFI pilot who supported his sons training. His father preferred the yoke style control system for training his son and he was successful in his endeavor flying and getting clearance to fly into Oshkosh. Lord knows those are specific visual approach points to fly into Oshkosh and when you have your slot you had better be there! Lol..
Very nicely done!! Dennis seems like one great guy!!
I enjoyed the conversation with Dennis for sure. Lot's to learn and he seems to have his "craft" and methods all figured out. Thank You for watching!
Great video. Well worth it for the fun!
Just caught this one. Great interview and to hear from the Owner. Really informative and well done.
My friend Andy Goans will be picking up some parts from the factory early next week. I can't wait until his 103 is finished. Yep I'll get to fly her. Great video and very interesting.
Thank You! I appreciate your feedback and your support! I really enjoyed learning about this one myself!
I've always wanted to build a 103!
Nicely done video. If I was going for a store bought ultra light it would be the Aerolite 103.
Sweet little bird. Gotta love 6061 T6, it's light, strong and even beautiful when polished.
It seems everything is being made out of that stuff these days! I hope they don't ever run out of it! :-)
@@ExperimentalAircraftChannel becaiuse its cheap
Great walk through!
Nicely done, with great editing...Thanks!
Thank You so very much for your support! I really enjoyed producing this for you! See you in the next one!
@@ExperimentalAircraftChannel No...thank you!
I'm a Triple 7 pilot with AC, but grass roots flying is where it's at! Learning lots, thanks to you...Kind regards!
I have been following the aerolite 103 since Dennis took over the company. He has made some real nice improvements over the years and continues to build a beautiful ultralight vehicle. Seen one fly with the Hertz F23 50hp fuel injected 2 stroke. Climb rate over 1000 fpm. A rocket with wings! Great short take off and landing ultralight for the money.
Great video Brian. Many of us love ultralight videos. Would love to see a video of Chip Erwin’s new Merlin lite. An all aluminum aircraft part 103
Agreed! Thank you for your support. And I have reached out to Chip and will have to get back down to South Lakeland soon to get all the details for sure.
I love experimentals!!!
GR8 VID !! ✈
I like the way they do things here......technique over technology....OLD SKOOL.....
Affordable & the structure is what I admire ,for as durability ☆thanks for sharing, 《every question answered 》☆
Excellent video. Very cool to see how they build these.
Excellent video of an excellent aircraft.
Great vid my friend thanks a lot.
Nice! Thanks for uploading. Watching from Europe :-)
Well hello from Europe! Nice to see this is reaching across the pond and to the world. Thank You for your support!
great video for great ultralight!! thank!!!
Brian! This was gun to accidentally stumble upon. We were watching videos of ultralight to do and your face came up (and I wasn't paying attention to which youtube channel we were watching)! We would so enjoy one someday. It was a fun video to watch. We need to do some research on higher altitude options. Most of the ones we saw have a ceiling of 10,000 feet which is probably fine really.
This is the most real plane I have ever seen. If I could do it myself, I would do it this way. But I can't (and I just want to applaud the author of this great idea.
Ok guys, I’ve been watching these same videos over two years now with all the good and bad comments ,some people just don’t get it . I think you have a wonderful product period. Regardless of the naysayers. I hope you made it through Covid. First off ,I have a ppl all the way halfway through com, had to quit due to money at the time. But my question is , how much would it cost me now to come to Florida and get 5 to 10 hours stick time and fly off into the sunset with that beautiful orange and blue airframe with a floorboard , full windshield, a little garmin 196 or similar and cheap radio with helmet. I would be extremely interested now that my situation has changed, I am a 200% disabled combat vet trying to stay in the game. Thanx for all you do to keep aviation alive. Oh and tundra tires. Right back to the outer banks of nc. Closest guesstimate you could make would be awesome. Thanx
DITTO
I don't know who this is or was but it was not me. I'm glad I saw this. Congratulations on your voyage!!
Airframe? I don't see anything protecting the pilot.
Very nice episode 👍
$13,700 airframe, $4k to $8k for the motor. All in, well under $20k for a brand new fully equipped well appointed zero hour fun machine? Heck yeah.
Yea I really want one however I am on the west coast I am scared of shipping charges.
@@Abyssdiver hell I'm scared of nights..

Hey that was really cool to watch.....
Hey! It is really great that you took the time to say hello here! Thank You for watching and for your support!
I was hanging out at Chuck Slusarczyk at CGS Aviation when Terry Raber was designing the Aerolite 103. There is a little bit of CGS Hawk influence in that neat little plane.
I always dreaming to have so much tools and build my own ultralight airplane like this.
Love it!
Good looking plane. Would be a lot of fun for late evening flight around here!
Agreed! 100%
Great video !
Thanks for a great video.
Thank You for taking the time to tell us! :-)
This looks very nice 👌
Greatjobs, very well and very nice, Tks.
Thank You!
Met him in 2016... great guy...I own 2 planes.... cessna and pietenpol.... would love one of these
Thats an awesome ultralight. Would love to fly one.
You and I both. I need to arrange something for this soon!
Great Video👍
Thanks for the tour, Bryan! I was seriously looking at the Firefly, that is until I saw this video. The yolk turned me off of the Aerolite 103, but seeing that they'll swap it out for a stick (being retired Marine pilot) I was stoked!
Excellent! Thank you for the feedback and for your support!
I'm torn between the Firefly also... Thoughts?
@@jamesswanson7213 I'd like to compare notes. For instance, I'm looking at the 115LB 60HP V-Twin 4-stroke by Aeromarine LSA. Why? It's super mass produced for off-road vehicles, in the hundreds of thousands. There's no TBO, because it's cheaper to replace it than overhaul it! ($7500 spinner to firewall, inclusive) Will it fit on the Aerolite? Will fit on the Firefly? Let's talk! Text me direct: 408-728-3926
On the website they explain they do not produce one with a stick. He was just saying they get a couple inquiries a year from folks who would like one.
This is so cool. I've been interested in ultralights since I saw the movie Fly Away Home. I don't think I would like to lead a bunch of Canada geese down south, but it would be so cool to fly one of these things recreationally.
These things are seriously cool, I wish the UK had part103.
Thank You. What do you all have over there for small light aircraft rules?
@@ExperimentalAircraftChannel something like this would go under microlight regulations, but there is a rule saying an aircraft with an empty weight + fuel of less than 70kg doesn’t need a licence. It’s aimed at paramotors and a few flex wing micro lights have made a sub-70 but I doubt a fixed wing will ever manage it!
@@jamesaddison81 in Germany we have a Aerolite 120 but you need a Ultraligh license
Have you looked at UK Microlight rules? My guess is that the Aerolite 103 meets those standards. They are also available in Germany as the AEROLiTE 120.
In Australia if it flies you need a licensed ,renewed every year plus aircraft registration so very little left of $ 10 11:01
Nice project!
This is my way to go. Time to find the airstrip!
Neat design.
Really good place for the safety glasses stylish. Aluminum splinters have unique problems, when they are being removed.
Great ultralight
It is nicely designed for certain. Thanks for watching!
Good job pro.
This is one of the best Ultralights you can get....
Def want, great halfway point between my GA and hang glider flying.
It has me curious. One airplane at a time though! Hah! :-)
Yes I have been there cool place.
Really quite organized isn't it? Thanks for watching today!
Very nice aircraft! Greetings from Argentina.
Hello Argentina! Thanks for stopping by!
Great video; and ultralight; I would like to build one of these some day
Meu grande sonho trabalhar em um lugar desses pois adoro aviação !
NICE!
Thank You!
Awesome
Love it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)
Love the videos, I know not everyone wants to give it out but would love to see basic prices on kits and complete planes when possible. I've contacted a few manufacturers but hate to bug them with my curiosity when trying to decide what direction I may end up going. I might get an ultralight while building an experimental and getting a sport pilot license, but don't want to waste someone's time finding out their basic kit is over 100,000 dollars vs somthing like Jim Wiebe's chipper which was well under 20,000 and very well may be the route I go when he gets up and running again after his fire.
There are fewer and fewer under $20k out there. Agreed. Cost of raw materials have gone up and then overhead costs etc. Moving forward most anything you will find sub $20k will be Ultralight Category or mostly PLANS BUILT options. The average NOW is right around $25k-$30K for an Airframe Kit. Another option is to hunt the used option as many kits change hands after they get started because "Life Happens" in between building our dreams.
Really enjoyed this video. Currently learning to fly in MSFS and loving it. If i could afford it i would buy this to tour around Scotland in it.
Great video! It's always neat to see how it's made type videos, as well as being able to put a face to the company. Great informative video for this cool looking aircraft.
I know it would be covered in the FAR/AIM, or out in the internet somewhere, but what are the airspace or flyover restrictions of a part 103 ultralight? Some information about were part 103 fits in to the overall airspace would be helpful in determining if this is an option for where we fly.
Thanks again for a great video.
Thank You for your support and for taking the time to say hello here. Great questions. I honestly haven't been flying ULTRALIGHTS so I am not as educated on the rules (will correct that quickly here in 2021 as I will be covering MORE Ultralights!) I don't believe you can flying into Controlled Airspace.
From US FAR 103:. No person may operate an ultralight vehicle within Class A, Class B, Class C, or Class D airspace or within the lateral boundaries of the surface area of Class E airspace designated for an airport unless that person has prior authorization from the ATC facility having jurisdiction over that airspace.
I'm not a pilot so I don't know how hard it is to get approval. I know there are some dedicated ultralight flight zones near Albuquerque.
I was looking for this vedio from 2 years ago
Yeees i found it 😃😋
Value for money 😃👏
being a tall person, I tried to see if there are restrictions...overhead switches being hit by your head. oops, main power turned off! possible problem with knees hitting the yoke.
I love it.....
Thank You!
Thanks
Great interviewing and questions!
Awesome vlog 👌
Good base
Great questions and letting him finish with a complete answer.
Are you going to the Deland Sport Aviation Showcase this October?
I must have it!!
Ive got a 1999 model. Wish I knew what number it was on the assembly line 😆
Sure would be nice to have electric start and new pretty sails. 😁
Very cool but I think the flap switch would be nice to have on the yoke instead of being above the head
very cool
I noticed the electric prototype in this video after you released the prototype at sun and fun.
Great
