    That tool to tighten the springs can be replaced with a screwdriver that's handle fits into a wrench

    How well is this holding up. I am currently rebuilding a B20Z2 now for my mom's CRV. I don't have a lot of money so hoping to hear good things about this kit. Do you have an updated link for this rebuild kit?

    Thank you so much for this information. Would you be able to tell me if it's possible to put my 2002 Honda CR-V manual transmission in my 1999 Honda CR-V that currently has an automatic transmission?

    • @MooreProjects
      @MooreProjects  Před 2 lety +1

      No a 2002 is a different engine and trans than what comes in the 1999 models. You need to source a 97-01 CRV in the junkyard or forsale somewhere. You will also need a lot of other parts to make it work also, like the shifter cables, brackets, different axels, clutch pedal assembly, clutch lines, slave and master cylinder, flywheel, clutch and bolts.. it would be easier and cheaper to sell or use your vehicle for parts and buy a 5 speed version of the CRV you own

    Hello, what grade of oil do i use when i repair the engine, 10w30 or 20w50?
    Greetings from Costa Rica

    • @MooreProjects
      @MooreProjects  Před 2 lety +1

      It’s recommended to run 5w30 conventional oil if you do a rebuild. 5w30 synthetic after 75,000 miles, and you could run 10w40 if your rings a worn to help it build some compression

    Is it normal for the gear notch to be a hair off from the timing mark after setting the tensioner? I set the cams with UP in the right spot and had small bolts to hold them, then set the gear but when I tighten/set the tensioner it turns the gear where it is just a hair off from the timing mark, and the exhaust cam turns to where the small bolt actually bent a little but. I know it barely moves but I’m paranoid about messing up the timing… should I worry much about it being a tiny tiny bit off?

    • @MooreProjects
      @MooreProjects  Před 2 lety +1

      It will still run. It’s kinda a pain to get it perfect. No worries. You have to use a 15/16 wrench to hold the one gear back some on the camshaft itself when setting your tension to get it to stay tight

    • @masonday__
      @masonday__ Před 2 lety +1

      @@MooreProjects thank you! I figured it wasn’t going to be a major issue but I was paranoid lol I appreciate the quick response

    • @masonday__

      Does it matter which way the flex plate/drive plate goes on? There was a small hole on both the main and the disk so I just lined those up but didn’t know if there was a specific way to line it up since I have the engine set at TDC. Also, does the timing need to be at TDC when attempting to start it once everything is good to go?

    • @MooreProjects
      @MooreProjects  Před 2 lety +1

      @@masonday__ the flex plate does go on one way. Look at your torque converter and see which way it will bolt up properly. And no if your timing is set correctly and you verified it after turning the engine over atleast 6 full rotations and there isn’t any resistance, then you are good to go when starting it

    • @MooreProjects
      @MooreProjects  Před 2 lety +1

      Also when turning the engine over by hand, make sure you have the spark plugs removed so it isn’t building compression

    • @MooreProjects

      I would start with a compression test and verify you have good compression on all 4 cylinders and go from there
