    Played it as an adult some years ago, when i started this series in 2020. And when talking to my friends, who have played it so long ago, they didn't understand why i thought this case was REALLY good. Honestly, of course it doesn't have the complicated mysteries of later cases, but for an introduction it's almost flawless, in half an hour you can get to feel the joy of cornering a culprit in this over-the-top dramatic courtroom that is the best part of the AA experience in general. It makes so that you can really get the sense if you'll like this game or if it isn't for you really fast, i appreciate it a lot

    The first turnabout is a masterpiece to me because it introduces the characters and the concept of the game masterfully and bombard you with key information. This is meant to play with turnabout sisters right after and the punch in the gut you get for Mia’s death was never replicated in any other AA and we only spent like 20 minutes with her.
    Simply brilliant and we got a couple extremely good lines for Phoenix’s reason to be a defense attorney which link extremely well with how that applies to Maya having no one by her side in turnabout sisters and to the reveal of the full flashback only in turnabout goodbyes because there was no reason for Phoenix to talk about it earlier
    Also it sets the tone, the light hearted mixed with logic and hardcore stuff which is signature AA.
    Also also we become Phoenix as he’s as skilled as us but a rookie giving his all. Then a fighter which by his sides wants to fight against injustice which we see as Gumshoe immediately arrest Maya. That sets the tone for our growth as players to the point even Von Karma doesn’t scare us anymore.
    The reason Turnabout sisters and Turnabout Goodbyes are so good is because of My first Turnabout, the author did a fantastic Job and it was worth it taking much more time to write it than a normal case since I can’t think of a tutorial as outstanding as this one.
    Ps. I think you guys are missing the point here. A tutorial should never be judged by its complexity. Later tutorials can be extremely confusing to a new players, especially 3-1, 4-1 and I1-1 but this teaches you everything you need to know about the game and get the story moving. No difficult objection to make? No remarkable proof? No charismatic witness or prosecutor? That’s the freaking point of a tutorial guys all of that comes in like 25 minutes with turnabout sisters as this one is extremely short on purpose. I think the criticisms I heard about this case are all out of focus.

      Yup it sets up Turnabout Sisters and Turnabout Goodbyes pretty well in a short amount of time

    Ok, so here is an INSANE premese for tutorial case: The tutorial defendent is actually guilty of a death penalty offence (let's have that crime be 1st decree murder), however neighter the player nor the nor the protagonist know of this fact and the reason why the tutorial case is so simple is because the defendent has connections with some very powerfull people with in the justice system. This results in the player unknowningly getting an innocent person convicted as well as give the real killer double jeoperty protection status. The reason why the killer had a rooki attorney be their representitive instead of someone who was in on the crime was to disguise the fact that the trial was rigged.
    Then whenit comes to the final case the tutorial defendent becomes the final boss. Our hero is tasked with exonerating a client, but also need to prove the tutorial bad guy's innocence before it's execution day. When our protagonist finds out who the final boss and are able to drag them onto the stand, they are able to deduce how and why the final boss manished to commit the crime question (let's have it be 1st degree murder again so that if the player get's a game over 2 innocent people are sent to death row), however the final boss can't be indicted for the current crime, because they destroyed all the evidence needed to do so. Our protagonist than realises that if they can prove that final boss rigged the tutorial case in their favor through foul means (like bribing the judge for example), then that would destroy the final boss's double jeoperty protection status, which they are ultimately able to achieve, which in final boss breaking down and confessing to everything.

      @@diesakuma367 here is another premise: The tutorial victim faked their own death and the reason why they did it is because they were doing a bunch of really evil stuff, but they did it in a way were in they couldn't legaly be held accoutable. This resulted in people taking the law into their own hands and so the tutorial victim faked their own death in order to stave of the murder attempts. The final case could have the tutorial victim kill someone (thus making them the final boss) in order to cover up the fact that they are still. This off cource doesn't work as our hero is able to both the deduce how and why the death was faked, but also how and why the murder was commited as well as be able to prove it with evidence.

    I know that this Conversation is irrelevant to this video but I want say it since I will probably forget about it
    I watched tbone415 video about how to fix AJ
    And I want to say some things about it
    If I could fix AJ, I would
    Change the cases' order.
    Turnabout Corner, Serenade, Trump, and then succession
    Turnabout Trump remains the same (only Klavier is the prosecutor and Trucy is with us).
    Also, Apollo and we feel betrayed by Kristoph since we spent so much time with him
    Turnabout corner
    Apollo defends walkie with Kristoph
    Since Walkie is from the mafia, I would make them actually involved in the story (maybe threaten Apollo to win an acquittal or else).
    Alita should be a sympathetic killer.
    At first, she wanted to steal the money, but as time went on and now that Walkie is covering for her, she developed feelings for him and confessed to everything, including murder (the mafia should also appear in other cases).
    Reduce panty jokes for Pete's sake.
    The sticker is horrible. Rewrite him as a smug, intelligent, and kind witness (it would be interesting to see a smug and kind witness).
    We meet Phoenix at the hospital.
    Serenade (the case should evaporate from existence; it is so bad).
    Kristoph is here with us again.
    First of all, make Klavier a suspect and Machi a witness (somehow).
    Laminoir should not be involved as a witness since the "window" and the magic trick were annoying AF.
    Of course, don't overuse the lyrics in court.
    And the pacing is horrendous (so much time is wasted on trivial things as window and magic trick etc.).
    Daryan works as a culprit, as you said.
    Klavier should be more emotional about Daryan.
    IMO, the Mafia should be involved with Coccons, not the Chief Justice.
    I would connect Kristoph to the mafia.
    Since Daryan is being uncovered as a smuggler for the mafia, Kristoph would try to cover for him (but then explain via phone that Daryan is a lost cause so he would not drive suspicion upon himself).
    Also, Winston is the prosecutor (yes, for a long case).
    And then Turnabout Succession
    The case works, but I would change:
    The Mason System is so time-consuming that I would reduce the time spent on this and increase the time spent on the trial itself, and of course, explain what Mason is.
    Phoenix can be cocky, just not so much.
    The disbarment is hard to fix.
    Phoenix should question how Klavier knows that this is fake evidence.
    The judge should not be so quick to disbar Phoenix.
    Phoenix should fight for his innocence.
    Maybe make that because Mafia Phoenix could not take a retrial for his innocence, and if Kristoph is not in jail, he can't take the badge back (I don't know how to fit this in the story though).
    So in Turnabout Succession, maybe make him a lawyer at the end?
    As this video said, Misham should feel guilty for forgery, so he is killed by Kristoph.
    Make Klavier more emotional.
    Make the trial longer.
    connect Apollo to Kristoph
    Make him say about Jurist system(apollo is A frickin puppet in AJ it is insulting)
    Edgeworth should be involved (in the Mason system).
    Taking Kristoph down again would anger the mafia, so there is suspense since Kristoph would get out because of their influence.
    But Walkie convinced his father to help us.
    Make Vera almost found Guilty
    Make Phoenix use false evidence against Kristoph.
    Make Apollo question Phoenix's sense of justice and his morality, and make him not take the same path as Phoenix's.
    So Phoenix can see that Apollo could do it alone and bring Phoenix a true sense of justice.
    After the trial, Klavier should talk with Wright about this forged evidence, etc.
    And that's it.

    • @DerpyHiro
      @DerpyHiro  Před rokem +1

      If we're going the route of Kristoph having more screentime before he gets arrested, I'd say create an additional case that can act as a small tutorial. Turnabout Corner might be a bit too big as a first case unless it is changed up to an insane amount

    • @diesakuma367
      @diesakuma367 Před rokem +1

      @@DerpyHiro well we have 5 cases in AJ(Im counting Phoenix trial) so maybe make Turnabout Corner shorter?
      I think corner being shorter would benefit the case itself
      But your idea is interesting for sure(the question is what this case would be about)

  • @diesakuma367
    @diesakuma367 Před rokem +3

    For me the best 1st case is AA4-1 it is simple and suspensful and seriously since there are unexplained questions about the killer and phoenix and it is simple(not as simple as AA1-1 but it is still very good)

    • @DerpyHiro
      @DerpyHiro  Před rokem

      Yes I think something like 4-1 could work as the very first case of the series. The only reason why 4-1 doesn't work as a very first case is because it has maximum effect when we know the Phoenix from the first 3 games. But I think something similar to 4-1 in terms of its mystery and story would be a more effective first case than 1-1

  • @Game_InSky
    @Game_InSky Před rokem +3

    Honestly you mention that they couldn't make the case darker because it would igve a wrong first impression of what the game is like.
    But from my experience, I think that's actually exactly what happened. This case was oddly serious and graphical (like, there's a whole big puddle of blood in the opening shot) but the rest of the franchise is quite zany and most of the other murders aren't nearly as violent looking. The judge is also very serious in this, which is kind of a funny contrast with his bumbling personality in all of the later cases.
    However, I think giving a good first impression is the important part. As long as the rest of the game is good, it matters less I think.

    • @DerpyHiro
      @DerpyHiro  Před rokem +1

      Interesting, I think with the opening cut scenes, I find that a lot of them are on the serious side, at least for the first game. The only one that doesn't feel too serious or dark is Turnabout Samurai's cutscene.
      In terms lighthearted tone, I'm referring more to the trial itself. It doesn't feel like the case takes itself too seriously and I think it goes for the same type of comedy we see through the rest of the game. You're right about the judge though. He's way more serious than he is in later cases

    It is the perfect tutorial but you explain exactly why Im indifferent about this case
    Its basic, too serious, too suspensful, and we didnt really get to know Mia as much

    As a alone case it is mediocre(but at least is superior to 2-1)
