First time i used the drop shot i caught 5 fish in 8 cast on a river. I haven't replicated that much success since, but i still whip out a drop shot every now and then.

Debo, I just recently resurrected the dropshot this year, using paddle tail swimbaits. I would love to hear your take on retrieve technique and what the bit feels like and when to set the hook (and how). Thanks, man!
I love the drop shot because some lures catch big ones some catch specific ones but the drop shot catches all of them.

There are 2 rigs I go to if I cant catch anything... I go with the Ned Rig first and last but not least the Drop Shot. Both have saved the day. 👊👏👍💪😁

Dropshot for panfish is a killer! Aberdeen hook and a split shot. All day long.

Dreamshot is one of those that looks crazy good but I’ve never had much luck with it.. baits r weird like that man lol! For example it took my awhile to buy into the Keitech simply bc to me they don’t look super fishy but fish LOVE them 🤷🏻♂️

Hay anyway👍 you can catch them catch them. My last 3 outings finally break threw. Caught a dink the first outing. 2 dinks and a 4lb hog second outing. Today's outing, landed a dink but he unhooked himself when about to thumb him and a had a pike and a huge large mouth on hook but they managed to get away. A laid down major profanity when I lost the largemouth on the spinner, she shot out of the water 5 feet away from shore, shook and threw the hook in my direction. Kind a big f you to me lol. From the size of her a min 5lb fish. FML lol

Just a tip for ya on that drop shot brother, try nose hooking and wacky rigging your worm for better hookups, does better than the Texas rigging style for me anyway, great video 👏

Power pro super slick. I believe it's 15 lb braid. 6 or 8# fluorocarbon leader. I make sure the leader knot doesn't go into the reel when I cast. So 7' approximately.

i like to throw a finesse worm, 4 inch curly tailed worm, neko or ned rigged on the drop shot. i twitch it and hop it on the bottom quickly, but very tiny, short twitches with pauses, almost like how youd top water fish a frog but a bit slower; only a couple cm of pop each twitch. I have alot of luck with that in clear, still water, catch anywhere from bluegill, to dinky bass, to big ol 5 pound doinks.

Drop shot is a huge part of fishing here on lake Champlain, have you tried using a craw with a short leader 3-4" ? Also are you fishing a bunch of weeds? If not nose hooking your baits will give you a better hookup percentage. (IMO) i know the small hook may seem crazy but ive caught my biggest fish on mosquito hooks.

I've tried the short leader and did have success. I'm trying different setups. I did nose hook with an octopus hook but kept getting snagged. The finesse worm hook has come in handy. I appreciate the tips man, I need all the help I can get!

The dream shot is a dink slayer. If fishing is tough I can almost always get something on it. Unfortunately the quality isnt always great.

Instead of adjusting the drag to play the fish why don’t you just turn the wheel spin off and either wind the reel forward or backwards to play the fish instead of loosing the drag and then forget to tighten it back up to set the hook. That’s something I picked up from the old pros they never loosened the drag to play the fish.
Maurice Miller I’ve thought the same but have never tried it, do you use it that way?
Randy McLane no sir I’m not an engineer so I have to trust the drag system and how it was designed so I hand pull to test the drag according to what poundage I’m using so I adjust it to get it as tight as I can get away with and not break the line it just works for me sir.
