- Drop shot fishing from the bank can be a challenge. However, I was eager to test the new Xzone finesse drop shot lures that I picked up. The day started with cloud cover and high hopes. When the sun came out and the clouds went away, I seized the opportunity to work on my drop shot game. I was able to find fish and salvage a tough day of fishing! Thanks for watching feeshin friends!

The drop shot is very slowly becoming a friend of mine lol. The colors on that green sunfish were amazing. Great video Debo 👊🏻
Yeah, I'm trying to figure this thing out. Those little green sunfish look so cool with those colors! Thanks for watching man 👊
I’m definitely trying the Drop Shot Rig for the River. It’s been nothing the last few times I’ve been out and it takes its toll on a Guy but watching your Videos always brings me back and truly thank you. Semper Fidelis
Great stuff buddy! Always happy to see you post a new vid!
Thank you sir, the support means a lot to me. Truly humbling to see how many folks watch my vids 👊
Great info and vid as always. Thanks Debo
Dtech.
Thanks brother, appreciate you always supporting my vids!
Tear ‘em up DEBO!!
Yeah buddy!!!! Great vid!
I'm trying man, thanks for taking time to watch 👊
Awesome!👍🎣👍🎣
Thanks for watching 👊👊👊
Love how you appreciate all your subscribers Debo. He gets to your msgs & always responds. May take a couple of day's maybe more to respond but he'll get back to you. Reminds me of hmmmm. Realistic Fishing! Don't forget Bro Manson!!! He's 🔥"Lit"!!!!!
I do truly appreciate everyone who watches. There are hundreds of channels out there so it's very humbling to see the support my channel has received. Realistic seems like a good dude. Just a regular guy like me beating the banks. Thanks for supporting our channels man 👊
Great vid as usual. My favorite drop shot plastic is the zoom z drop and the yum warning shot. Both are durable and have good action. 👊👍
Thanks man. I haven't seen those yet. I'll keep an eye out!👊
Impressive drop shot skills!👍🎣
Haha I'm trying man, it's fun to learn new techniques. Thanks for watching 👊
beautiful green sunfish! pretty as hell
Thanks man. Yeah, the colors on them are wild during spawn.
I’ve been meaning to get some of the finesse slammer for my finesse jigs. Great baitfish profile!
Best fishing videos on CZcams
Yep you definitely doing well on the drop shot
I'm FINALLY catching some fish on it!Thanks for watching man !
Nice video. It’s always fun when you catch fish. They might not of been the size or species you wanted but looked like fun.
Yeah, it is still fun. I'm thankful for any time I can get out. Some folks are not as lucky. Thanks for watching man.
NICE LOOKING PAN FISH MAN, I LOVE THE POST SPAWN COLORS 👍
Yeah, those things look wild with those colors!
Used it primarily as a winter technique. Worked well off bridges. Guess I'll pick it up again
Yeah, I'm slowly figuring this thing out. I want to keep fishing it all year to see how it does!
I caught a PB with the BassPro Qualifier 2 reel, 6 pounds 8oz , and it held up fantastically, had it on a 13 Fishing 7'3 medium heavy, and 15 pound seaguar STS fluorocarbon, and caught it with a green pumpkin senko,
Nice man! That's a chunk of a bass! Yeah, it's holding up so far.
DEBO....."DINK DESTROYER".... love ya brother...thanks for the vids
I've tried the drop shot but never had any luck... Great video and Tight Lines!
Yeah, historically I haven't either. To he honest, I avoided throwing it at all costs 🤣👊
I think if we called it the 'hot shot' rig you'd have a better mindset about it 😀 It do/did catch feesh for ya. The jury's still out for me on the Xzone product after watching this. I think a finesse worm might have done as well in a similar color.
Yeah, I really like the profile and they did work well. That's a conversation I've had with a number of folks. Is the lure REALLY that important once you find fish? Would a stick bait, trick worm, ribbon tail worm, etc. rigged the same way catch those same fish?
@@DEBOSFishing Exactly! I've got be selective about $$ for gear and tackle, so I appreciate what you do in showcasing them both on your channel.
@@jrdefield7481 I appreciate the support man. I try to show different stuff and give folks an honest look at it 👊
Caught some nice bluegills!
Yeah, I should have brought my ultralight and kept fishing for those!
I love rigging a Biospawn Plasma Tail on the dropshot.
I've had a number of people recommend those. I'll pick some up soon! Thanks for watching 👊
What rod do u use w a buzzbait? I have a sixgill heavy but it is too much to throw for an extended period.
Nice video
Thanks man 👊
Great too see you Dropshoting bud 💪👊🎣😎
Thanks man. I'm trying to figure it out!
We had a CRAZY storm here in the Texas hill country yesterday and I missed a couple good ones. Short strikes I guess even with a trailer. Same weather like yours today and I got skunked. I saw a guy catch a 13 pound channel cat so at least someone on our river didn't get skunked haha I'm off in the morning and I got a feeling I'm gonna catch my pb💯🐋🐡 lol
Yeah, some days are like that. Good luck man, hope you catch some biggins!
Behold!!! The Power Of The Dropshot Is Strong With Debo.
I'm slowly understanding this diabolical technique 🤣👊
In my opinion, fishing it slower produces more fish. I know your always short on fishing time. Next time when you have more time work it slower. Member shake the bait not the weight. Pick up the slack which shouldn't be much. 👊💪🎣😎
If only i lived closer to you Bro, I'd show you how it's done. You'd be surprised how Strong the Force Is.
@@carnufiasfishing8444 This padawan has much to learn!
Chatties are the best. Your channel is underrated.
Love the chatter bug. Sadly, I lose a bunch too. They don't play well with wood 😂 Thanks man, I appreciate your kind words 👊
Light subtle rod twitches are the best !!!! Trust me I’ve caught some nice fish in pressured lakes ! Cast it out. Keep the weight on the ground and move the bait with the rod tip for a bit move it( hop it or drag it) and repeat that’s what I’ve had the best luck doing, first time I tried a dropshot I got some z man trick shotz in a MTB box and I was using a bullet weight lol, wasn’t really interested it took me a while to try it but when I finally did it quickly became my favorite technique, practice makes perfect you will find method works best in your area !!!! When all gets tough the dropshot brings em in !
Also another huge tip ! Go in about a quarter inch into the belly of the worm and bring the tip of the hook barely out of the nose helps the presentation a lot and it’s the best and a good weedless way to fish it. With a size 1 hook
Yeah, no doubt it gets bit. I just seem to lose 143 weights on each trip. Then if I get snagged and break off at the hook, I've got to retie a new leader, hook, and get the weight at the correct distance. I tend to just grab another combo 🤣
DEBO'S Fishing lol !!!! I feel your pain bro on my dropshot reel I use all floro no braid and no leader, and yes when you are beginning tying a dropshot can be a pain in the but especially getting the right amount of leader, I learned how to tie it on a polymer knot makes it so much easier ! to each their own brother ! Tight lines !!!
It's official now, you are a convert to the drop shot!, can't deny it, haha.
Hahah I'm slowly figuring this thing out 😂👊
DEBOOOOOOO! Im out fishing today in Colorado. It's almost too hot and sunny but caught a few dinks. Nada on the drop shot for me, still tryin. Get some!
Yeah, took me a while to get some on it too. Just trying to learn when and where to throw this thing. Good luck and hope you find some biggins soon!
im gonna try those . i just saw um at CRap tire.
Amazing video your awesome man👍👍👍🎣🎣🎣🎣🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺

Great video I've never used a drop shot looks like i need to start
It has taken some getting us to but I'm finally finding some fish on it!
Bro that's not even a dropshot rig. I definitely don't know how to rig it. U have no weight on it
Welcome to drop shotin with debo
It has been a rough journey with this drop shot thing. Lol I'm just happy to catch some on it!
Great Video! What power and action do you recommend for drop shot fishing?
The drop shot is still a tactic I haven’t caught a fish on
Its best on rocks. But remember there has to be a fish to catch. But it all depends on whether and pressure
Daniel Beavers what plastics do you usually use for the drop shot. I’m going out rn and thinking about using a shimmer shad (don’t know if you’re familiar w it). The lake I’m fishing it really small and rocky, and it’s mid day w high pressure. I think I might be able to finesse them out. Thanks for the tips
@@kingshaln7062 if there shad in the watter that would be a great bait. Also any stick style bait is really good with a drop shot. The main thing is if its clean water use natural colors like green, brown, pumpkin, gray, silver, white, if its dirty stained or muddy use black and blues or neons. Also if you haven't had a ned rig then get you one. Trust me its golden. The small ones are really good. Hears how i fish most of my finesse stick baits. First start out with a little faster reel speed just do a medium reel speed but not a steady one . Youre basically just reeling to get the slack out after poping it up.Throw it in as soon as it hits the water jig up once to get slack out. It Also will let u know if a fish hits it as it hits the water
Once you get slack out let it sink. Then starting out be a little faster than normal. That will let you know if there being aggresive. If they are just keep doing it a little faster than normal. Let it sink. Sit for 3 seconds then reel 2 to three times then slow pop it up off the bottom 2 times then repeat it but instead of 2 or 3 times do one. Keep changing the count. Also when you cast try to keep moveing the cast over every time so you're covering all the water possible. Than if you get any bites but there not as aggresive then slow it way down. Throw it in and let it just sit there for 10 to 15 seconds with a tight line. If there not being aggresive they will find it and get it off the bottom. Litterly throw it in pull in slack and let it sit for 10 to 15 seconds. Then pop it " or jig" it slightly pull in slack let it sit for 5 seconds then repeat to 10 seconds. Always change you're pattern count. You can do it how ever many seconds you want to depending how fast you want it. The main thing with any bait is try to feel what you're doing. Litterly use that bait to feel the bottom. Tune you're self in. Try to imagine what that bait is doing. Imagine there is a fish looking at it and you're trying to make you're bait be a crawfish, or shad, worm whatever there feeding on. That is the most important thing. Just feel and tune in to what you're doing. Don't just throw out and jig and reel. Also don't get discouraged if you don't catch anything. It doesn't mean you was doing something wrong. There are days that fish ain't hungry or in the mood. Also go on line and look up the moon patterns. Look up the best days of the month to fish. A lot of people dont relyize the moon has a lot to do with fishing behavior so does the whether. But yea try this and you will catch them if there in there. The best time to fish in the day in summer is eather get out before the sun comes up and get the morning bite. Or get out about 2 hours before the sun goes down when the water cools down. Also another deadly bait is a wacky rig. Get you a sinko and a round style hook and hook it in the middle. Throw it out and let it sink "always keep line tight" they hit it on fall most time. But then just slowly jig it up. If you do it to fast it will turn the sinko. So watch it and find out what looks best. I hope this helps some. Fishing is one of them things that you never stop learning things. If you need any help let me know. Hope you have some luck.

Never caught anything on the drop. One technique I want to master
Late, but awesome video!
Never too late to watch some Debos! Thanks for tuning in man 👊
Nice video. What type and size hook and size weight did you use on your drop shot rig?
I caught a green sunfish on a drop shot today myself lol and a long ear on a shaky head worm couple days ago
Hahah silly sunfish. They let their gut overload their brain 😂👊
Talking respectfully to the fish will result in that fish to tell its friends and then all the fish will want to be caught by you. 😁
As usual great video. When's randy comming back so we can see what the bigger fish in the lake look like? I'm just kidding keep up the vids has become my lunch stop watch.
Hahah yeah. He has been the big fish catcher when we go out. I told him he'll have to keep making appearances so people actually see big fish on my channel. I don't catch any 🤣👊
I taught my wife how to fish a wacky rig over the weekend. She hammered some nice bass. She even managed to show up the drunken homeless looking dude who tried to steal her spot when I was putting a new worm on. Dude made a beeline to her spot and started fan casting like a mad man. I hooked the worm and told her to put it the spot and bam, 2 pounder. She 🎤 dropped and we left.
Hahahah yes! That's awesome man. Yeah, it's safe that some people have ZERO care about other anglers. Oh well, such is life. Glad y'all got on some good fish!
Not a fan of the drop shot either. I prefer something a little more active, personally.
But gotta admit, it's a good method and does catch when the fish are being shy.
Great vid as always.
Tight lines, bro :D
Yeah, I'm in the same boat. I hate fishing really slow but sometimes you have to do it to get a bite. Thanks for watching man 👊
As a shore angler, I question the drop shot method from shore. I think if you want to fish 2’ off bottom and you cast out a ways, the angle of your line to sinker wouldn’t be 2’ it could actually be 6”. Maybe I’m thinking too much into it. Unless you fish it not far off shore.
I would like to see you do a review of my favorite combo. The lews mach crush. I use it for everything. For me it's one of the best combos under $200. Keep up the amazing content.

Great video. What kind of hook r u using for dropshot. Keep them coming
Thanks man, appreciate that. It's a 1/0 trokar lifht wire finesse worm hook.
Fishing for me always goes like this, It's contantly bad and i don't know what I'm doing wrong. I feel like I am okay at the techniques and i really wanna know if it's my fault or just a bad waterway
Drop it like it's hot :) New to fishing. Do you think you could make a video on how and when to adjust drag, please? Regards
Hey man. Welcome to the fishing community! Are you talking about casting or spinning?
I just got the kastking stealth casting reel
What is the make and model of the green spinning reel /rod that you are using.
I’ve seen in your videos using the drop shot rig. What size hook do you use with it? I have a combo want to set up with a drop shot and don’t know where to start, but since you use it a lot, you may have more info. Targeting bass of corse and a lot of your DeboDinks.
I have been using a size 1. The finesse worm hook type are great for keeping it weedless!
Thanks for the tip Debo. I’ve been wanting to try my hand at the drop shot. Always helpful.
Enjoyed it! Sometimes I notice that you have a velcro-type material wrapped around your pole and lure as a safety device. Are these home-made or can I buy these somewhere? Those would come in very handy for me when traveling with rigged poles in my car. Thanks.
Yeah, they are lure wraps/ covers. Very handy! I got mine at Scheels but you can get them on Amazon or tackleware Warehouse.
@@DEBOSFishing thanks!
DEBO, which kastking reel do u prefer for 1/8oz lures? Thx in advance! Great video as aways!
The best baitcaster that I've been using for light lures is the Shimano SLX. The tatula 100 works great for light lures too but it's $50ish more.
@@DEBOSFishing Thanks for reply. And what about your kastkings? Which one do you think goes better with light lures?
@@fsanfo honestly a spinning reel would be your best bet for most light lures. Otherwise, it's hit or miss with a lot of baitcasters.
Hey! What baits are you using?
if you use an octopus hook for dropshotting you can get more fish per bait
I tried the octopus but kept getting hung up. The worm hook has made a big difference. In open clear water, I definitely get the octopus hook though. Thanks for the tip man!
If you let that sink before you click the reel it will stay in the water longer and have better action and results on the retrieve and it won't drift to you so fast and ruin the action and purpose. Not being rude just sharing tips also, my friend.
Can you make a video on how to rig a drop shot and what weight to use for the depth of water
czcams.com/video/7D8fAxJHMiE/video.html
Oh wow, I'm honestly not the guy to ask. I need to watch more of those vids for myself. I'm honestly not a good drop shot fisherman. I'm working it this year though.
Watch the link Bro. I sent it to Debo awhile back when he was 1st giving the Dropshot a chance. He's my witness 😎🎣
Felix Martell oh I did. Very good video on how to rig. Thanks man!! Hey, Debo I’m curious. What is that spinning reel you were using for the drop shot?
@@megancooper3241 I'm using the okuma epixor. I linked it in the description for you.
That place looks like snag hell
Hahah some days it is. For whatever reason I ALWAYS seem to lose my chatterbaits here. Dozens in that lake lol
Why’d 13 fishing build the spinning rod like that? The casting rod looks nice but the spinning rod... eh doesn’t look right with the cork up top.
I was able to do a tree dangling lure trick using my lizard and got a 2 pounder to take it
Yes! A danglefresh! I haven't had one for a couple years.
I'm with ya I know how to fish the drop shot i just would rather fish 20 other baits instead. lol
Yeah, I know the basics but I'm very green with it. I can see the appeal of a constantly suspended lure. I agree, why can't all fish always want a frog 😂👊
The ol drop shot... for when you need a tug on your rod.
Have you ever tried a Tokyo rig Devon?
No, still have not used the Tokyo rig yet. Have you?
Just tried it last week for the first time. Really liked how the weight/wire held up better than the “hot shot” (super low) drop shot. Caught two; one was a decent feesh. Been experimenting with Neko, Ned, Tokyo, drop shot and shaky head lately depending on clarity.
what lake is this?
The D in Deebo stands for dropshot
Haha soon it may. I'm going to keep working this thing! Thanks for watching 👊

I prefer smooth with honey. Chunky will do in a pinch. 🤣 A couple oz shy of 7.
