It was low budget only about 3 million, primitive technology that just speed up John Wesley Shipp running with a wind or motion blur affect filter on the cameras visual for the Speed Force effects, but fun.
You have to appreciate what the CW did with John Wesley Ship. Afterall, he was Henry Allen, and as of right now, is playing Jay Garrick. Having the original Flash actor play the original Golden Age Flash as a role model and mentor for a new Flash is an awesome idea, even if you don't like the show

Besides the former Flash, there are two former Supermans, two former Supergirls, a few X-Men, Lynda Carter is on the way this season as the president. And on a sort-of-related note, there are four previous Prison Break actors also playing criminals in the Arrowverse.
Rest In Peace, Barry of Earth - 90, who saved universe in Crisis of Infinite Earth. :( They even had snippet of Tina and Barry while the themesong played in the background.
That was a fitting end IMO for this version of the character. I was actually pretty happy the writers did that and apparently so was John Wesley Shipp who stated it was great to have a proper finale to his portrayal of The Flash.

Not only that, but the cause of that loss (The Anti-Monitor) then put him on that treadmill to cause more destruction. He went out like a legend, but it's heartbreaking what he endured to get to that point.

I'll always hate we never got to see a proper guest appearance of 90s flash in the CW flash, his cameos in elseworlds and crisis where so brief it would have been cool to see him the in a couple of episodes prior to the Crossovers to get to know his character again and to see what he had been up to, had that happened his sacrifice would have hit us even harder.
Loved watching this show on CBS, I enjoyed every minute of it! I remember watching this with my dad on Thursday evenings! I was like 10 years old back then! We would watch TOP COPS and then The Flash at 8:30pm!
Season 0 of the CW series since Harry Allen and Jay Garrick were 90's Flash's doppelgangers and there was Mark Hamill playing the Trickster again where both versions had the same girlfriend, Zoey Clark played by Corinne Bohrer, and then there was the Tina McGee versions who were both played by Amanda Pays. The CW series was practically an alternative reality version of the 90's series.
Always thought the Flash was a third stringer but I actually enjoyed this show as they tried to make the show as gritty due to the success of Batman '89.

Batman the animated series used a remix of the 1989 Tim Burton Batman intro/theme song. If you listen to the full composition of that song, the cartoon just used a few parts of it.. shortened and combined.
