one of the best things to come out of this match as an English fan is to see how class the irish fans have been, gracious in defeat. I've barely seen any negative comments from them. I think they appretiated the monumental task England had to try and get over this world class Irish team. Good luck in your last match, i'm sure you'll still be lifting that trophy in a couple weeks.

Thanks for not listening to our pundits. Most true fans still remember us barely winning games during the 90s, so our feet stay firmly on the ground at all times! We've got a good team at the moment, but my god, the media go on as if we are prime NZ 😂 great win yesterday, England were immense. I'm glad to see them back to their best as NH rugby and the 6 nations needs that level of competition. Grand slams aren't a right, and championships should be bloody hard to win. Let's not devalue them, because some players go their whole career without ever coming close to winning a 6 nations title. Best of luck against France next week, no reason this England team can't win there

Thanks !!! Irish pundits have big mouths, embarrassingly big mouths. Heaslip gave the captain’s speech to the England team. If that wouldn’t fire up those lads nothing would. Imagine Mike Tyndall saying the same thing as Heaslip. The Irish boys would be furious!! Well done on a great win! England played their socks off and were worthy winners. Good luck against the French. You guys should be all fired up after yesterday and ready to go 😊👍!!

Apologies to all English fans for Jamie Heaslip, Andrew Trimble, Peter Stringer et al. They are not analyst's but glorified fan boys. They do not represent the true Irish fan who knew that England weren't going to let us rock up and wreck their house. Genuinely pleased to see England get their mojo again. Their fans are amongst the best fans in the Six Nations and are always gracious in victory and defeat.

England are deserved winners - played better from start to finish. Ireland had opportunities and when 17-8 up, I thought we could pull away. Fair play to England for coming back strong.
Mind you, some of our decision making was poor. I thought Murray was poor, not specifically the final kick, but he put up another awful kick before that and it put us under pressure. However, it wasn't just him.
Our lineout was under pressure, and turning over the ball (Murray to Aki knock on from a 5m lineout) was a massive turning point. We could have demoralised England with a try then, but gave up the opportunity.
Let's hope they are better against Scotland next week, and start a new winning streak!

Excellent points. We have not got out of 3rd gear since we played France and England came ready to fight for every ball. How many lineouts did we lose? How many English lineouts did we not contest? I am struggling to recall a competitive lineout for England. What was that about? POM’s stupid YC? Gifted a try to England. The list is long. But congrats to England. Worthy winners especially after the asinine and frankly embarrassing comments from Hubristic Heaslip and even ROG!!

Jaysus lads calm down, the media is the problem here, most of if not all of us irish supporters knew round 4 of 5 was the big hurdle, England always perform against Ireland, don't always win but they put in a shift, and are difficult to beat, and don't be so naive if you think they're media is any different, let them go 19 or 20 games unbeaten and yes former players and they're media do exactly the same thing, small margins seperate the top five or six teams in the world and we lost two games by a total margin of 5 points in the last 12 months

Hubristic Heaslip!! What a total chump! He needs to learn some humility. All credit to England who won and won well.
So a couple of things on the Irish performance. Sadly Ireland seemed like they were off their game yesterday. Our lineout was poor again (real questions here). I was wondering why Ireland didn’t go to the line instead of taking the points which seemed timid but given how the lineout was performing well maybe it was the right thing to do. When we got into the English 22 we coughed up the ball too many times. Finally that 6-2 bench split has come undone and did so very early in the game. JGP had to slot in the backfield way too early. Finally I love Henshaw but I barely recall his name being mentioned yesterday. Too many players were too quiet and as for that stupid YC from POM well the less said the better. Real questions and so far no answers. Scotland won’t be a pushover next weekend.
Finally, Irish pundits need to be more respectful. Their mouths do us fans nor the players any favours!!
    Congrats again to England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

Murray is dead wood sbe gone long ago/ OMahony maybe give him a chance. Craig Casey is a headless chicken and not the answer so may need to start tapping into under 20's for a good scrum half. Joey Carberry if fully fit is a better outhalf and full back than frawley. He is still young enough very unfair the way things have gone for him hope he keeps challenging.Paul O Connell needs to go as well or get his act together. The elephant in the room is actually the lineout. 3 big games SA/NZ in WC and Eng yesterday how can you expect to win if lineout not reliable.

Andrew Porters scrumaging needs to looked at although he played ok but gives away too many penalties at scrum time.

The absolute bs from the Irish media for the last two weeks was mind boggling. They need to cop the F on!! Congrats to England on the win. They were hungry and wanted it more. Well done! As for us, well, that was a bottle job when it mattered most. Sexton gone caught up with us as we'd no leaders. Crowley is doing fine but that game would've been closed out with Sexton. O'Mahony has now had two yellows in this comp and was awful yesterday. Murray, too, was shocking when he came on. An old head to ride out the game - my nuts. His passing and kicking was abysmal. The kick to touch with 90 secs on the clock was baffling. When you consider Munsters great strength of finishing out games by putting the ball up the jersey and picking and going, this makes his cameo all the more baffling. Our lineout needs to be sorted now and if Porter can't keep his elbow up at scrum time, well, it's the bench. This was a bottle job and that's gawling. Mack H and Garry R are a real miss too. What were they expecting from England.. Were we not building a game plan around their rush defence and physicality????

This will be good for Ireland. They have to win these types of games, and make the right decisions in the last couple of minutes to keep a winning position and convert it to wins. Too many times the game has been close and we’ve bottled it. NZ on multiple occasions, England now. It would be good to have these experiences and know what to do and what not to do. England know how to play against better teams and push them, punching above their weight really

    • @robw7676
      @robw7676 Před 2 měsíci +1

      Punching above their weight how?
England have more international standard players than Ireland. It is a failure to get the right combination of them together, playing the right way, and able to build form that has been the problem.

    • @GoldenbanjoDJ
      @GoldenbanjoDJ Před 2 měsíci +1

@@robw7676 Punching above their weight in terms of quality. Everyone knows there are more world class players in the current Ireland setup than there is in England's. They have more players in general, yes, but that doesn't dictate quality. Even after the loss yesterday, it would be difficult to suggest that you'd usurp most of the Ireland team in favour of an English player because of a matter of quality consistency.

Sure, so it was a bit daft, but I guess that's what he thinks/thought. What he said after the game stood out for me and makes me think that daft claims aside, he knows what he's talking about. I'm referring to when he said it's not sustainable for England to play on raw emotion, and he's right. Ireland have been playing great rugby for a good while nowm, and haven't needed the backs-to-the-wall, big game mindset to do so. Having said that, I did enjoy the win, mind you.

Can someone please explain to me why Ireland kicked possession back to England twice in the last 3 minutes instead of keeping the ball in hand and going through phases to kill the game off. Ridiculous.
I can't believe these pundits weren't fuming about this immediately after the game.
The Murray kick with 80 seconds left was obviously the worst.
We also had a 22 dropout with 4 minutes to go which Crowley just kicked directly to England instead of the normal 22 dropout where you try to retain possession.
The only explanation is that the Irish pack was totally exhausted, which isn't really an excuse at all.
So we gave England 3 chances to come at us in the last 4 minutes and they finally got something with their 3rd attempt after time had elapsed.
Edit: I would think it's easier to keep possession than to try to defend against a raging attack who don't even need a try, just to get close enough for a drop-goal. Ireland played like 5 year olds in that last few minutes.

Borthwick can build from this performance now. The previous 3 games felt like there wasn't much to build from but Martin makes a big difference. Time for Marcus Smith to have the 10 jersey for a while and build relationships with the starers. Borthwick can now drip feed little improvements rather than ideas of "revolution/evolution". The next step for me is to move Earl to his preferred role at 7 to allow the talented Barbeary a run at 8 with Cunningham South covering 6/8 too. In 18 months adding Arundell at 15 can make this England side nothing short of scary

After seeing these teams last few performances I think New Zealand, South Africa & Ireland are top 3 in the world. Ireland do not perform well on the biggest stages though.
England have it in them to be up there with the best but are inconsistent at the moment. They are moving in the right direction.
Scotland have huge performances in them but the problem is we only see them against England. Not all doom & gloom for Scotland after Italy loss but some work to do.
France are lost without Antoine Dupont but are still dangerous. If they can find that missing piece to the puzzle they'd be a force to be reckoned with.
Wales will not move forward. Given Gatlands previous success while coaching them they are banking on it to magically happen. While many fans believe they are just rebuilding I don't think that is the case. I think Gatland has overstayed his welcome like Jones did with England. Wales have so much talent but need to roll the dice & find a new coach. They are in the worst position they have been in since 2007.
Italy are definitely the most improved side on the planet without question. They are playing like a tier 1 team & got unlucky against the English & super unlucky against France. They have it in them to beat anybody on their day. If they keep going the way they are they can definitely compete for the 6nations title in 2 to 3 years.
Australia have a new coach & staff so they are an unknown entity.
