I regret it took until Annette's death today before searching & finding Mickey Mouse Club footage I recall from childhood. I haven't heard the slow tempo, show ending outro song in many decades until today. It always sounded sad to me, but is sadder today (April 8, 2013). Thankfully, I found it here! Former British PM Margaret Thatcher died today too, but Annette's death, not the Iron Lady's, is what saddens me, & reminds one that "no one here gets out alive."

Keep in mind ,Tv was young then, there were alot of first time things to do. Thats what kept our interest , first time to see a Davy Crockett series , first time to watch Disneyland on TV. So alot of it was that first time effect, which by now has been done 1000 times over .

Although life was not perfect at the time, I do remember that maturity, responsibility and idealism were more present in the mix of experiences. It's interesting to observe, as an older person now, the gradual but steady decline in public decorum. Only those of us who have lived through this change can truly understand. Perhaps our new era has its merits, but something has been lost as well. Thank you, technologists everywhere, for making CZcams possible. That's a compensation of today!

@@Mauzy0x00 The Mouseketeers were the generation that got rid of segregation and almost totally ended racism in America. Our current crop of young leftists and CZcamsrs are bringing them back because it helps them feel important and self-righteous. Walt Disney and the Mouseketeers were all wildly superior to anyone in Hollywood today. Our current smug, snarky generation has no idea people like these ever existed.

Annette Funicello was a class act. These days are gone, but not forgotten. It's lovely to see the "old days" of film and our favorite "stars". It was a very uninformed time and we just loved who we loved. I remember I was very young when I watched this show, but I cherished the songs and the teens and wanted to be just like them. Clean cut as we used to say, with manners and class. R.I.P. sweet Annette, and Bonnie and Cheryl.

Great video, sure brings back memories! I was pretty little when the Mickey Mouse Club was on, but I remember it. Maybe from the reruns, I'm not sure. But my older brother & sister watched the show all the time. Because of that, our little brother, who is now 51 got his name. Our mom & dad couldn't come up with a name. My mother told my dad she would name him Elvis if he didn't come up with a name. So my brother & sister came up with the name Marty from The Adventures of Spin and Marty.
