We've strung together the ballads from ALL the Davy Crockett miniseries shown on the Disney's Disneyland series.
Davy Crockett is a five-part serial which aired on ABC from 1954-1955 in one-hour episodes, on the Disneyland series.
The series stars Fess Parker as real-life frontiersman Davy Crockett and Buddy Ebsen as his friend, George Russel. The first three episodes of the serial were edited together as the theatrical film Davy Crockett, King of the Wild Frontier (1955) and rebroadcast in color in the 1960s, when the Disney program went to NBC. This series and film are known for the catchy theme song, "The Ballad of Davy Crockett".
It was filmed in color at the Great Smoky Mountains National Park at the Mountain Farm Museum adjacent to the visitor center at Oconaluftee, near Qualla Reservation's entrance and Janss Conejo Ranch, California. The final two episodes were edited together as the theatrical film Davy Crockett and the River Pirates (1956).
It was filmed in Cave-In-Rock, Illinois. Walt Disney Home Video released the two theatrical films on DVD as Davy Crocket - Two Movie Set, on September 7, 2004. - Zábava
Walt Disney would be embarrassed how Disney turned out now.
From Brazil
True
Honestly
From wholesome to horrid!
He probably wouldn't care. Nearing the end of his life, he handed the animation and films to his son-in-law Ron Miller so he could focus on his theme parks. Especially EPCOT. That was on his mind until the very minutes leading up to his death.
People love to form opinions about the man while knowing next to nothing about him.
The Disney version of The Ballad Of Davy Crockett will always be the best version, because of the arrangement of the instrumentation and vocals, especially in the right key.
They definitely wouldn’t air this show anymore! Definitely loved it as a kid and it brings back good memories
They could air the episodes separately on Disney+ if they put the entire Disneyland TV series on it.
@@lgamertvlgtv2856 Dude the social justice loving leftist clowns would have it cancelled within twenty minutes of it airing.. It's toxic masculinity, anti people of color, and a white supremacists dog whistle..lol Disney would crack and ban it..
Davy Crockett is on Disney+ in the form of the two theatrical films that they released after the miniseries became a hit
@@colinkilian7885 do you have a problem with social justice? Does it scare you? Would you prefer it if everything went back to like it was in Davy's time? I'm puzzled as to why you would be anti people who are pro social justice. Just asking.
@@AlMonzoEsq he called the leftoids clowns, so I don't think he's scared.
Actually.. some people have phobias of clowns, so maybe he is.
One of my favorite heroes of my childhood! Thanks Walt 🙏😊❤️🇺🇸
😂 as a child they made him out to be the OG John Wick
Lol
The Disney channel in the 90’s was wonderful ... between 11pm and 4am or so they had Vault Disney and showed all the Classic Disney shows it was so great. Super wish they’d do that again.
Or create a new premium channel and do that.
Wokeology won't allow them.
Thank you so much! For some reason I often get this Ballad "stuck in my head" -- the tune is quite catchy, after all -- but can't recall most of the lyrics. Now I've got a bunch of them, and I know they won't go away!! But that's great. This Davy and this song are SO not-PC today (even I cringe when he attacks the bear or the Injuns), but when I hear or sing the Ballad I once again feel the swell of pride in being American that I felt as a little kid in the '50s when we said the Pledge in school or scurried together into an air-raid shelter as a practice drill. I had absolute faith in my parents and other grown-ups, the USA, and our national leaders back then. My, how times have changed (and BTW, you young 'uns might have been much happier and less stressed in those simpler days).
You can't believe how popular that mini-series was, as big as the James Bond craze of the mid-60s. LOL
Will always love the old disney movies 🙂❣️
As a Texan. He brought his celebrity status to Texas to help bring freedom and independence as he came to the Alamo in Feb 1836. After that lives in history
I've been searching all over the web for the complete version, but all I could find was versions with only a few verses. Thank you so much for posting the COMPLETE one!!!
thats ok bud, yes extremely rare, glad you liked it!
killed him a bar, when he was only three.
certainly not a Pokey-Bot...
star trek there were actually 21 verses. not all were recorded. In 1813 the Creeks up rose, shooting firy arrows at their pale skin foes, Davy shoulders up his musket and off he goes, cause fight wild Indians, is what Davy knows.
Watched them all. Davy Crockett, Toby Tyler, Swiss Family Robinson, Willy a and the Yank, Great Locomotive Chase, Johnny Shiloh, Spin and Marty, The Micky Mouse Club, Mystery of the Applegate Treasure..........
Also, The Swamp Fox, The Scare Crown.?...
I Love Davy Crockett It’s Such A Beautiful Walt Disney Song!
Great job. Thanks for your effort and sharing this with fans of the Crockett series.. Over the years, I've had the pleasure of meeting Fess Parker, Buddy Ebsen, Ken Tobey, and Mike Mazurki. All great gentlemen, too.
Thanks bud, I appreciate that indeed. Oh wow whata n absolute privilege to meet those great people! Especially Fess and Buddy, I'm so jealous! Yes Im a huge fan of the American West even though Im a Kiwi!
You have such an amazing history indeed.
TeeVees Greatest your awesome
Wow, that certainly would have been on my bucket list... Did get to meet Arnold Palmer though
...WOW!!! 69 & 70 YEARS ago...don' seem that long...and I can say, with pride, I REMEMBER that show (and the theme song) when it first aired and watched it with mom & dad!!!
I would love to have a DVD of these movies. Growing up we couldn't wait until Sunday night at our house
This series was awesome!
This is so classic.
Loved this show as a kid. Partly the reason that I started my own CZcams channel!
We use to have good wholesome programs on tv...... the same can not be said this day and time which is so sad. This series was and still is classic and should be shown to this very day. Youll never see anything made like this today!
At 63 the last scene of Davy swinging his rifle at the Alamo, chokes me up to this day!
The same feeling I get when I watch the flag go up on Mount Surabachi, in Sands of Iwo Jima with John Wayne
I'm 71, and I still remember that last episode. As I recall, though, this was followed by the keelboat episodes, which I found confusing at the tender age of seven.
same here
Yep..powder spent ..no time to reload ifn it wernt ..
Excellent and THANK YOU SO MUCH! Expertly done, both the music and the scene choices!
Love it !
The magic kingdom has turned into the Tragic Kingdom.
such a horrible multinational corporation now, when Walt Disney was alive it wasn't like that at all.
An era never to be repeated!!!

Wonderful. !!!

Wonderful serial ❤️
I watched this entire series as a boy. I never expected to see it again. This is a bit of a shock. I was 7 years old. I feel like I’ve seen a ghost.
Fell asleep to this song in 2022. Woke up in 1955 laying down in the back of a manure truck!! 😀🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
My childhood hero.
That's from Walt Disney's classic Davy Crockett King of the Wild Frontier and Davy Crockett and the River Pirates.
Loved all the old disney movies
Loved that show when I was a kid
thank u
Was this aired again in the 90's?? Because I'm only 24 and I remember seeing this as a child... and I loved it.
Yes it was. The Disney Channel ran them for a while, before they took Walt out of Disney... :(
I do as well
Sierra Spencer are you in the US?
Same here, I'm 35 and remember watching this as a kid, loved it..This would be deemed white supremacist, anti Indian, and racist by today's left..Disney would absolutely cower to the inevitable twitter censorship mobs..Sad..
oh dang me too. So that it why I know the song! Or at least the chorus. Hahaha I just remembered, I must have watched it on my Grandpa’s cable when I would go to visit as a child. I was always excited to visit because he had cable and the disney channel but we did not have cable at my parent’s house.
Real men! Fearless
There was only one Fess Parker
I'm glad I was born in 1946😊
This is pretty historic & educational from Disney

This is a certified Hood Classic.
If I remember correctly Walt Disney got his start on Chicago's Southside! Fact check please...thx...Rhodes Theater 79th Street near Cottage Grove...Oh my, a very rich Heritage you colireds.
Professor Owl: Ahem, now then, why do we remember Davy Crockett?
Penelope Pinfeather: Because the song kept his legend alive.
Start at 1:25
in the last verse, what are the first 2 lines? I can't hear them.
The story books tell they were all cut low, but the truth of it is, it just aint so, their spirit to live and their legend grow, as long as we remember the Alamo.
Is that the one your after bud?
TeeVees Greatest yes, thank you
The singers are mentioned as ' the mellomen' .
I want the the drawings of Davy killing a bear and facing off against Mike Fink.

What about the part where it talks about the creeks?
Mercury Black the verse about the Indian wars refers to the Creek Indians. Listen closely to that portion.
@@garyrogers7823 I think he’s taking about the creeks uprose verse

There is only 2 king if the wild frontier has most the adventures and the river pirates has 2

Much better than the other way around.
Glad this was done in 1955.
Back in the days when Disney produced wholesome entertainment. It’s a wonder that Walt hasn’t risen from his grave for what has been done to his company.

For some that say, "Disney will never air this again," you're right. It and the second TV series became movies and are on Disney+. They don't need to air them. Heck, the Disney Channel will probably end sooner than expected. Second, there was nothing "simple" about these times. You often had to drink dirty water without knowing it, hunt for food--and sometimes you didn't find the food. People died of cholera, starvation, malnutrition a lot back then. But yeah, keep believing it was "simple." I am sure people in Crockett's time thought living during the Renaissance was better. On top of that, child life expectancy was lower than today. Not everyone made it to adulthood. Our western movies and shows romantasize a time that was pretty harsh in reality. Some things this movie doesn't show: Davy was the only delegate from Tennessee to oppose the Indian Removal Act. As a result, he wasn't re-elected. He actually moved to Texas with 30 armed men, expecting to help fight for it's independence. He even mentioned Texan Independence in one of his last speeches in Tennessee.
Davy wasn't a perfect man, but was pretty progressive for his time. I'm sure if he was alive today and saw how Native Americans were treated in cinema (this TV show was one of the first to hire real Native Americans instead of white dudes playing Native Americans), or witnessed their land getting taken by the government to produce oil--he'd have something to say about that.
As for whether or not our world has "gone woke," here's all I'll say on this. I often wonder what people, like Davy Crockett, would think if they saw how all most Americans care about is a peice of entertainment. Like movies, TV shows, sports, etc. They were fighting for life and death. Meanwhile, over 180 years later, we argue about whether or not a strong female lead or people of color should be in a movie about laser swords, robots, flying saucers, and magic space wizards (yes they should, is the answer. And also, we're talking about space wizards. Get a grip, people).
Loved Davy Crockett as a kid in the Fifties.
hen as an adult I learned why Davy Crockett fought and died at the Alamo. White Texans had to break away from Mexico if they wanted to be allowed to own black Texans. Mexico outlawed slavery well before Lincoln.

What left wing bullshit. You probably eagerly swallow the claims of the 1619 project, defining the U.S. solely in terms of slavery. While it’s true that Mexico banned slavery in 1829, it allowed American immigrant slaveholders to continue using the labour of enslaved people, so your claim that slavery was the motivation for Texas independence is nonsense.
There are 26 verses.
one o disney,s best programs
santon know i one that i better... possibly zorro
in 1988 Disney re-made "DAVEY CROCKET INDIAN FIGHTER" but it was pretty bad.

Davy Crockett was a deadbeat dad. He left his wife and two young sons alone while he did whatever he wanted to. Then when she died, he didn't even go back and see his two sons. Deadbeat Dad!

He was being sarcastic ... justifiably so in my opinion.
@Mike Harrigon he killed animals because he had to eat. And he stood with the Indians in Congress.
I was 7 yrs. old in 1955...I gave my heart to an older woman then, she was 13 in '55, Annette Funicello...I watched them build Disneyland on TV & my dad was into custom hardwood floors so I got to watch in person...I HATE democrats, they stole & destroyed my state...
