Meet Em, my beloved 1970 Honda CL350. Grab a drink and join in as we venture down the path to completion on a tracker build. I have been wanting to finish this one for a very long time. And boy do we have a long way to go.
In this video we dial in the points a bit more to correct an issue.
Then for the first time in 3 years, we fire her up!
    Enjoy!

It's so refreshing to see a young guy that knows about points and carburetors.

Hey Cody, I want you to know that with your videos I have rebuilt my clutch, my slave cylinder, and my master cylinder. Not bad for a newby biker grandma. Bringing my 83 Nighthawk 550 back into roadworthiness is a whole lot easier with your videos. Thank you!!!

@@TheMotorcycleMD I LOVE watching your videos too Cody. I ALSO have an 83 CB550 nighthawk, that I bought used last summer. It ran fine up until last fall, then for no reason whatsoever,it started pouring out fuel from the throttle-side (right two carbs.) fuel overflow hose. Also, when it hits around 4K,it stumbles huge like there's no fuel (or way TOO MUCH fuel). Anyway,I'm terrible working on bike carburetors and I noticed that you have NO VIDEOS WHATSOEVER about rebuilding any 83 CB550 Nighthawk carbs.!!! I watched your 70's CB550 carb. rebuilds, but those are worthless to me,since those are totally different from the 83's kind. So PLEASE,PLEASE-PLEASE,can you give me any idea what my problem is,or do a video on an 83 CB550 carb. rebuild to show what's possibly wrong with mine? I'd LOVE THAT!!! Thanks again.

Nothing can beat the joy you fell when you fix a bike and it first starts up

Absolutely correct! Even after 10 years of doing it. Still get the same feeling!

Good damn deal man. It's such a relief to hear a bike running after so much thought, tinkering, trial, and error goes into it. Happy to hear it running.

I installed the advancer 180° out of time on my KZ 305 rebuild last year. When I realized it was firing with a valve open, I first thought, oh crap I put the camshaft in 180° out !! The advancer was a much easier fix 🙂

Could we get an updated walk around video on the finished build and maybe briefly summarize what all you did? Bike looks great

Must be a great feeling to hear her running after all the work you've done. I can't wait to see what it looks like when it's 100% finished.

That feeling you get when it's finally paying off and it runs is so sayisfying. I'm onto my second motorcycle project right now and it's running/ riding but I'm still leary of IS IT dependable or will i be stuck on the side of the road at some point? As Im working through the little details and gremlins that inevitably happen during a full custom build.
In the end I'll have enough money into it i could have bought a stock motorcycle that runs great sure but this one is all my ideas and labor.

Well done, I enjoy your vids. Can you possibly do a vid on JIS screws. Im 60y/o now and was brought up in the 70's with early XR's & CR Hondas and all the second hand ones alway's had rounded Phillips head screws . So we thought. The knowledge and expertise was not that accessable back then. As kids we didn't know JIS even existed. I haven't seen much in the way of short vids to explain this to young people. I reckon you are the bloke to explain this as your love for old hondas is infectious. Just a short vid. Thanks Dave

How are the carburetor working for you? Tired of working on the stock carbs. As for the timing I filed a mark on the lobe and advance unit so I don't get 180 . Nice job love the old CL and CBs
