    The bikes built by necessity really get us going over here at Common Motor. In our 3rd installment of CMC bike tours, we show off Ben's 1972 "Candy Panther" CL350 K4 Scrambler, which if you did not know is actually the original paint color name straight from Honda back in 1972. Ben's CL350 is a rider and that's what we love over here at Common Motor, no-frills, purpose-built to be driven day in and day out. Every vintage motorcycle and vintage motorcycle owner has a story, from how they bought it, to the crazy circumstances they have been put in trying to get from point A to B. We love hearing the war stories, moments of tears and the "way bigger list of parts than I thought it would be" from every rider we meet.

    Love this bike!! I'm actually looking at one as we speak (on Sunday) a '72 cl350 - Candy Panther, as well! QUESTION - have you had a passenger on? I'm wondering how the leg burn situation will be for someone sitting on the back?! Thanks in advance for your insights!

    Hey Man, Random Ol' Grandpa Here. Enjoyed Your Video & Was Just Wondering, Was The Electric Starter Removed? If Not, You Have An SL Engine, Not A '68 CL Engine. Even The First SL-350's Had Electric Start.

    My father bought this bike new way back in 1972, same color, and then I owned it for a while, but for some reason I can't remember what happened to it in the end because it was many years ago. but I always liked the bike. Did the guy you bought it from buy it new ? or 2nd hand, because when I see your bike it makes me wonder if its possible that your bike could be the same bike I once had, you never know. does the book say who originally purchased it. or where it was originally purchased ? enjoy the bike.

    So glad I found one of these on Craigslist about 15 years ago. It's how I discovered cafe racers, just my style! Mine originally was the maroon color, same striping.

      I think Ben's wearing a gringo! Cool helmet but he told me its noisy. He also has a snap on shield attachment that lets him flip it up and down.

    • @Common-motor
      @Common-motor  Před 4 lety

      You may, you may not! A lot of people don't but its down to each and every bike and whether thats the only change you make or not.

    Did you just change the mufflers on the exhaust. Seems like the originals all rot out. Mine have :-(

    • @Common-motor
      @Common-motor  Před 4 lety

      Oh yes, a CL set of mufflers not rotted out is a rare thing. We really like the scrambler mufflers we sell as a replacement. They actually have a baffle and fit the bikes well.

    Why do you run the gas hose across the top of the frame? Just curious

    • @Common-motor
      @Common-motor  Před 4 lety +1

      To be able to remove the gas tank quickly. No other reasons.
