Oh my goodness finally a video of someone explaining how to do this and actually doing it themselves, thank you so much
WOW. After watching this video I decided to try out the Extendible UI Firmware. WOW excellent first print. I will definitely be using this firmware from now on. Much easier to get perfect first layers and final prints. Thank you so much for making and sharing this video. You work is greatly appreciated.
Dude you crack me up. Your serious in your intro and then at the very end you crack a huge smile and "Lets get into it" .....Don't ever change man!!!
Your video out of all of them finally got my printer running correct with the right firmware. Thanks a bunch happy I finally get to print something
Wow we asked in a previous video and here he is delivering! Thanks for this update video. Keep up the great work
Fantastic video. I didn't know about the custom firmware! Thanks
Very simply and nicely covered topic. Thank you very much!!! 👍
by far the easiest tutorial I found on how to do this. any other one I watched did a bunch of un needed steps. cheers
Thank you for making it easier for people getting into this hobby.
Absolutely! The more people here the more that can be a part of this awesome technology. Everyone has something to contribute.
This was very good and helpful video, thank you for your time spent doing it!
superb and straight forward, thank you very much
Thank you :)
Thank you very much for this video.
Thanks for the video and help
Great video, thank you
Great video. It dosnt bother me to level the bed, but I do have a few printers with abl. The two with abl have solid mounts for the heated bed.
Congrats on 60k.
Thank you 😬👍🙌
**Pro-tip.**
Heat your bed to the print temps you use thén do the auto-bed level sequence.
If you're wondering why, heat expands the heat bed so the size changes a bit
@@YeetDisDude exactly, thanks for adding that to my comment
Good video now what we do need is universal plugs and custom extensions. I know there is a market for those so we will be working on that for customers. So if you need a custom cable feel free to reach out to us. We will do our best to also start selling on Amazon common adapter cables for those printers and ABL system. Running a print farm we noticed things are just missing and not long enough period so we will be working more and more on solutions for this.
That software is way better big thanks!
So I have a CR touch and crealitie's firm ware for it. I have G29 place in cura just like you have M420. by having G29 in there it performs a 3x3 mesh with a hot bed and nozzle before the print. my question is will the M420 code do the same or will it just input a set of reading from the last time you made it mesh. I definitely want the probe to do it job before every print. also I am planning on switching to the jyers firmware but like I said I want a new real time mesh for every print. what are your thoughts on the difference between G29 and M420?
Now a runout sensor.
I had a headache with the ender 3 v2 runout sensor port it just crashes the firmware when its enabled.
But I got it to work I use the z endstop connector
Thanks.
Thank you for all your videos. They are beyond helpful, especially to someone that's new to the hobby. I do have one issue that I hope you can help with. I recently installed the Sprite Pro on my E3V2. The instructions to install the CR touch are scarse but I believe the CR touch mounts right to the side of the Sprite with the bracket that's already there. When I run the bed leveling program the sensor position is too far forward and does not make contact with the bed. Is there a way to adjust were the probing starts?
What about doing this for the voxelab Aquila X2, great video!
Nice video Thanks!! makes me want to get a BL Touch but the link you have links to the same ender3 v2. I know where I can get it but I like to "Support" this channel.
@@ModBotArmy Ordered Thanks.
So printing issue seems to do with length of description on lcd Since I dont know how or where to shorten it I'm kinda stuck .That being said can I install the Jyers ui now after I've installed the bl touch firmware.Thank you for your time
Is that a JST PH2.0 Connector on the V3 board?
I saw in another video that you need to calibrate the x and y-axis, is this not so?
Hey question. Couldn't you just unplug the Z cable from the outside? Mine is proper glued to the board and Y cable.
So to get new code into start menu I just need to hit enter that will let me add a line ? And I do this after I install firmware ? Using a ender3v2 4.22 board
When I click leveling it doesn’t give any other options or option to save any advice. Just got this thing in and I’m ready to send it back.
so should i do manual leveling even after doing the Create Mesh?
Great video and very helpful. Thanks. I have one question. When I change the Z Offset or use Microstep Up or Microstep Down nothing happens until I select Home Z Axis. Am I doing something wrong or is this normal ?
You have to select live adjust
I have to change the firmware to install the marlin bin? I try to installed and the printer wont do nothing so I try with the bin from the creative site and it work. It get flashed to the printer.
Voxlab or Neptune 2
Or what do you recommend for a newbie. Who needs an idiot proof 3D printer under $300
Thanks
I am getting a printer kill message and no Z activity when trying to home Z or run the mesh. Do you know why this would happen?
My 3D printer is Enders3 v2 - version 4.3.1 -- where do i find the firmware upgrade for that?
When levelling manually you ensure the printer is squared what is important step that should be done at least when assembling the printer.
Auto bed levelling allows to correct the deformations that occur along time and improve the quality of the first layers and the success of the print.
The two system are complementary and should not be opposed.
Agreed, if the bed is not manually leveled quite well then your parts are going to be all sorts of skewed. Definitely more intended to help with minor deviations. For the sake of budget printers it can be nice for warped beds.
This is exactly the reason I bought a BL touch. My friend gave me his old printer and while it's printable, it requires a lot more maintenance and is no longer 100% level. I'm hoping this will compensate for the areas of the bed that are a bit iffy.
@@Cyntaria If there is a deformation of the bed, what is almost always the case with more or less deformation, you should activate mesh levelling. That may require an upgrade of the firmware if the printer is too old, and may be the replacement of the main board.
hello how can find if i need 3x3 or 5x5? on the bltouch i see AA5X3
THANK YOU SO MUCH i saw a video from chep with the exact same tutorial and jyers it looked soooo complex but yours made it way easier :)
Can anyone tell me when I auto home my x axis goes to the right and grinds then stops. It don’t go to the left and hit the switch
Hi There, is your BL Touch V3.0 or V3.1? I got a 3.0 version and it has given me nothing but grief and after 2 weeks still can't get my printer to work. any help would be greatly appreciated.
Hey I did the same thing and my printer is frozen on the creality screen and I can't seem to get it to work. By chance have you found a way to fix the problem?
hmmm. I just downlaoded the firmware and went to create a new mesh and it only probed the center and 1 other corner.
Now you should do one for neptune 2.
Uh seems the link for the BL touch is the same as the printer link
For those who have never used a BL Touch before, you might want to let them know that if anything blocks the startup cycle test of the BL Touch, it will go into a failure mode. To reset the failure mode, you need to remove whatever is blocking the probe and power cycle the printer.
mine is giving black screen nothing is blocking it
@@jasone1881 same here, did you manage to solve it ?
What is the actual configuration for this?
can't you do G29 instead of M420 s1?
I have one CR10S custom with ender3 V2 motherboard and ender3 v2
I installed mine a year ago and it still only prints on half the bed 99% of the time. I manually leveled it then auto home it then auto level it. I've setup my offset also. It doesn't seem to push material out sometimes either. I've only printed maybe 4 things in 2 years because the machine is a pain
So when I go to the leveling tab it doesn't give me options, it simply starts "Bed Leveling"
Should my glass bed be level to the frame/surface or should it be done with a bubble level, and should that all be done before using the BL touch?
Level your bed first. The BLT can't turn those screws for you. It can compensate for any issues by adjusting the z axis, however the bed has to be level first
You do not need to unplug the Z-Limit-Switch cable from the motherboard... Just leave it so you can revert if needed.
Will this install on an Ender 3 that has been upgraded to the 32 bit board?
Yes it should. If you upgrade to the 32 bit board and LCD w/knob like I did you have essentially turned the Ender 3 or Ender 3 Pro into a V2. I had to use firmware for the V2 and not the Ender 3 Pro.
WARNING for anyone who has z axis trouble after following this video! I had to calibrate the BLTouch BEFORE removing the connector. I tried following this video & lost about 45mins trying to figure out why my Z axis was unresponsive & why my printer was throwing errors - the errors basically said "the printer head doesn't know where it is!"
A bit more info on the how to get to firmware that's a bit vague
Would this also work for the Ender 3 MAX?
I dont have an Ender 3 Max, so can not tell you if the mount is the same or if there is one included in the box for the Max. I would guess so, but that is just a guess.
With that said, you can always print a mount if one is not included and Creality shares boards between printers so the install method is the same. Just have to flash it with the correct firmware for the Max.
The only other thing that might be a factor is if the included cable is long enough for the Max. If the kit says it will work with the cr10, it should be. I dont have any experience with the Creality kit, just clones. The clone I bought, the cable was long enough for a regular Ender 3, but probably not the Max.
So I did all this but my ender v3 prints way too fast! Moves around the bed too fast
Nice one but I did not use it on ender as there is no need for it ;)
When I hit level it just runs the 9 point leveling but doesn’t show me that menu
Nvm, I got the extensible menu one now
Either way, I do everything the same way. I fix my Z offset till the paper scratches the nozzle aaaaand it still prints in the air.
have you found a solution? currently having this problem..
@@ChaseScannell14 I haven't calibrated it for a while, gonna check this today or tommorow. I'm going to let you know.
Lets go Brandon!
It's not about seeing how it's done. That's actually fairly straight forward like you said. It's about watching what mistakes I think you made so I can avoid them when I install mine. :D
After following this video and I put my sd card into the printer it is now Stuck on the Creality screen.
I'd remove the z offset from the outside of the printer. Then you don't need to remove the glue
I got the black screen and can't seem to fix it now.
Same here, did you manage to fix it by now?
Does anyone sell preconfigured sd cards for the firmware challenged seems like a viable business As many people say it's easy. For some of us it's not I can diagnose mechanical issues .But really wanting g a bl touch is just not realistic for a older guy I'm 70
Hi Charles! Have you gotten what you need? I'd like to help you if you haven't. 😊
And no, I don't want any money. 😇
Nah I just gave up I put bl touch away .
Why can't you use a G29 command? Wouldn't that tell the BLT to auto level before the print, in case something has changed?
I have G29 set to do that on mine.
No im first
Just want to point out that abl and bltouch are not an excuse for laziness. It's always better to level your bed the old fashioned way.
The abl is good for correcting minor bed issues ..
Title is misleading. This video shows how to install BLTouch and CREATE A MESH. It does NOT cover auto-leveling which was the point of watching it.
Actually it is supposed to be denatured alcohol that works best. Most rubbing alcohol does not work good.
Hmm, so far all I have used is 70% rubbing alcohol and it has worked great. Unless other countries have lower percentages in theirs?
Funny, my BLTouch didn't come with a E3V2 bracket ... total junk. Buy a Prusa and save yourself a LOT of time with junk equipment. My plugs into the board were different as well. Glad those who sell these printers have NO clue what they're selling. HA HA!
See x times..
Lol. BS. Download the 3x3 bl bin 1.3.5. Screen won't work thank you for the headache... did your video step by step... twice.
If it works for nearly everyone else I think you call it user error. 👍
@@ModBotArmy funny I can load the creality stuff to get it to run.
@@ModBotArmy I have to eat crow here. It was user error.
I formatted the sd card reflashed both the display and controler.... and it work awesome.
Is this channel in favour of resumed of bizness services like licence transfers? Type yes?
Or no because you are against 3d print comunity being able to buy or sell the biznesez they create.
And newbs should not be told if they upload to a site without licence transfers they are trapped de valued and cant buy or sell there own bizneses.
This effects all those with non commercial licences.
Yes? Support comunity biznesses and jobs.
Or No? Against biz sales and jobs.
Vision Minor are a YES. :)
CREALITY ARE A YES. :)
After this extensible UI firmware my printer did not boot anymore, the fans turn but the display of the printer stays black. Any sugestions?
Did you ever figure this out?
