Great little project having the facilities to charge the power banks. The lighting being caught in the steam looked great and spectacular for the time of year. Nice to have updates on the little Rover, I liked that car when you owned it. Hope it lasts longer than another year.
I was actually surprised when i started up the Escort this morning after not using it for 4 days that it fired up first time.... The train kind of reminds me of the Ghost train in Ghostbusters 2 for some reason when you see it in the distance. Can't beat free electric with the solor panels.
I read the title as Train Lights and thought you were putting signal lights on the front of the garage for when you back Thirsty Thora in 😂😂😂oh sorry I mean Athena which for some reason reminds me of female clothes retail in the 80s & 90s. Cheers K.
Thanks for the update Rick, the Focus is starting a bit better it seems, I never found the older Ford Diesels to be 1st time starters in freezing conditions, the French Diesels were better. Do those panels charge a battery you use or provide power for something else? Interesting Waffle Wednesday anyway mate, hoping to get a vid out myself in the next week or two.
The panels charge the power banks you see in the video, we then use them in the house or van for “free” electricity. Focus starts better now, since this video I’ve learned to wait a few seconds after the light goes out and then start it as it’s still heating for a bit afterwards. Also it’s hard remembering that older diesels are not the same as the modern ones like the Kia which you don’t even see the light it just starts…
Morning Rick,and Happy New Year to you both, With the Focus starting problem ,judging by the length of time that it takes to crank when cold ,I believe that you are having a loss of fuel pressure overnight ,might I suggest that you check the condition and tightness of the Fuel filter and the pipework that connects to it as they are prone to suffering from air leaks that cause an amount of air to enter the system,when left sitting and allowed to cool completely hence being difficult to start when left overnight ,but usually starting well during the day after having been used and warmed up,good luck with it .
@@AgathaAndAnything If it was fuel loss would it not be slower in warmer weather after sitting. Always found the fantastic Peugeot 1.6 diesel to be a good starter.
Free stuff, nice when you can get it. I just got a 6.5hp petrol power washer free, the lad couldn't start it. Bit of tinkering with it and it's a flyer. Only thing is it took the paint off my kia alloy wheel 😢 kia are poor when it comes to alloys. Also just had an airbag light come on in the kia..... dog ate the wires under the seat 😭 Guess ill be soldering later 😮
Nice free or so electric, good idea also for using to keep motorbike battery topped aswell as a car/motorhome.....on another note I know you want to be more out and about in camper but have to ask is Agatha going to Rustival at Gaydon?...I'm there with Oddy March 9th and would be great to see you both..all the best...

Probably something in that, the video shows it starting on Monday after sitting since Friday, this morning it started way quicker….
