The hydrolastic pump reminded me of a time at college. One of the lads with an Austin 1300 sneaked it into the workshop to pump up the suspension and the rest of us took over and pumped it up that high it looked like a mini monster truck. Oh how we laughed. Chris
Haha! Good times 🤣
Great video Rick & very thorough awakening from Agatha’s winter hibernation
I’ve a fair drive planned tomorrow…. Thought it wise 🤣
@@AgathaAndAnything I am doing the North Norfolk Classic car club St George’s day run, from Sheringham Station to Holkham hall, it’s like Wacky races, all sorts of old cars
@badbooks476 sounds good tho!
She's alive! I'm sure you'll all have a great day out .
Slight issue with a cv joint but we got home
Your Allegro must have been pampered in its first ten years or so Ric, my brothers sandglow 1300 sadly went to the car graveyard with terminal rusy before it reached ten years. Still great to see Agatha back on CZcams now spring has arrived.
She’s rough up close…. Look at the early videos
Good vid mate, like old times again seeing Agatha.
Good job you can still get hydrolastic fluid, I bet that’s a special order, not like you can walk into Halfords and pick it up!
Always good to have your own pump as well with a 70’s BL car.
Looking forwards to the drive video.👍
Actually got it from my local motor factors but it’s on eBay anyway
They were a very underrated car! Roomy and comfortable. I had a 1500 cc ohc version which was great! I would buy another now!
Agreed hated by many who never had one.
good to see her back rick
Cheers Chris
Great to see the Allegro back!
Hopefully I’ll have more tomorrow 💛
@@AgathaAndAnything looking forward to it! Drove an Allegro last year and loved it. It’s a purchase option I’m considering
@thtmotoring definitely worth it
@@AgathaAndAnything would need to live outside though
@thtmotoring ahhh not so good
I do love a bit of Agatha
💛 who doesn’t?
When I fist got my Reliant Regal the brake pedal was rock solid. Master cylinder was full with luminous yellow/green liquid. Someone said it looked like JCB hydraulic fluid. But now having seen that stuff here it looks identical. I had to replace the master and all wheel cylinders and flexis.
Sound plausible that!
On your cracked manifold, why don't you use some Exhaust Manifold Heat Wrap, I used it on my exhaust leak and works perfectly.
It’s in an awkward position but I can try. Cheers
The Venga Man.
I love it!
Love a cash deal.The key obvs.Agathas engine sounds very-er -sound.
Other than the exhaust blow she’s sweet
I had four Allegro's from mid 80's into early. Bought them very cheap because they were not 'cool'. It is in my opinion the only BL car that didn't rust horribly.
Some do some don’t, i really think it’s pot luck 🤣
@@AgathaAndAnything I read somewhere that BL made a real effort with anti-corrosion methods on the later Allegros. I didn't own any as early as yours.
Certainly no worse than any other manufacturer in the 70’s
What does that radar type gauge do?
On the pump? As well as measuring by height you can measure by pressure
@@AgathaAndAnything On the dashboard?
Ohhh nothing it’s a blank, posher ones have a clock
rick from memory, last time u did it, it was 340?
I’m not sure I’m fairly certain it’s 360?
@@AgathaAndAnything i am just recalling the vid, might b worth a re visit, i might be wrong, but the figure 340 sticks in my mind, we dont want agatha the monster truck lol
@lucythemoggy1970 👍 well it’s that high until I get it back in the garage now 🤣
@@AgathaAndAnything haha
