''Okay guys! Lets take it one step further'' : Plugs headphones in
They should add variable high speed fans to simulate the wind, that would add yet another dimension.
They need to build a VR headset into a helmet really, combine that with the sound being muffled and it'd be just epic.
you really want them to add a $5 fan and charge you $100 when u can buy one yourself?
@Dee C well you will have to program the fan to change fan speeds based on how fast youre going if youre gonna use ur own fan
@@buggerlugz6753 Yeah I was thinking of that. If you took the big screen beyond, shoved it in a helmet and perhaps increased the FOV due to the fact that you now have the size of the helmet to work with, it could be really great.
When using VR and a moving seat, the VR sensors (lighthouses in this case) should be mounted to the seat and not the static environment to avoid issues. If you don't do this, your head is tracked as if you are moving it about, even if you hold it still relative to the 'car'.
For example, if you hold your head completely still in VR and go fast around a bend, the moving seat will tilt to give the effect of G-forces. When the seat tilts, the VR sensors 'think' you are tilting and moving your head to one side, when you're not. What happens inside the headset is that movement in the seat translate to what looks like head movement in the virtual car. This can make people nauseous and it just looks wrong. It can also be seen in the video as the driver's head appears to be bouncing all over the place in relation to the actual in-game car.
If you mount the sensors to the seat, when the seat tilts as in the example above, the sensors move with it meaning that your head appears still relatively speaking. So your head only moves in-game when you actually move your head.
It's a similar issue to mounting your displays so that they are static instead of mounting them to the moving seat itself. When the chair tilts to simulate G-forces, the displays stay where they are and you have to look up/down or tilt your head to keep looking at the monitor. In these kinds of simulators, screens or VR sensors should be mounted on the seat only.
Hi,i have motion rig with integreted monitor to the rig.I ordered vr hp reverb g2.Is this will work ok,or i need to mount monitor separetly with rig.
Man, I was going to ask this question and you're top comment. Thanks :)
36.000 POUND!! I can buy a house with that amount of money with all the furniture included!! Damn, life is so beautiful to rich people
Where you live? In Papua New Guinea ?
Or you can get a DOF reality rig for
u can just buy a fuckin car lmao
@@dom7282 But you're kind'a limited to traffic laws and that car's specs ;)
@@Mitrofanvlad im more curious where you live where you cant buy a house for 720k lol
I know many people say that such price is crazy and they would just buy the real car instead BUT remember that with this you don't have to pay for tires or fuel, you don't have to RENT A CIRCUIT or get licenses or safety gear (or worry about crashing), you CAN try many different cars that in real life you maybe could but it would be crazy expensive AND you can do all this anytime you want (no need to buy tickets, book hotels etc..). And in the end you can resell this and get most of your money back (so basically if you have money it is worth it).
By the way I'm speaking about high end racing simulators in general (not necessarily about this one).
100% wrong...You will give 35k pounds(not VAT included i guess) for a game simulator, while you could build an actual racing car for 10k...Plus you will have something in your basement that costs 35k which you will eventualy get tired of very soon. This imulator and all simulators should cost around 5-6k.Anything above is not worth the money. With 36k you can actualy buy a superlight aircraft ffs...
Getting tired if very soon? I have over 1000 hours in Assetto Corsa, 200 in rf 2, 200 in Dirt Rally and probably at least 500 in other diverse sims/arcades like gt6 and grid. Its definitely worth it as for the amount of driving i have done on the different tracks in different cars it would have cost me far more than 35k. I agree that your avarge joe should not put more than 5-6k into a simulator but i bet the ones that would buy this is not your average joe and probably already has 1 or 2 race cars but also want one of the best experiences you can get with sim racing.
If we are talking about ppl who would buy a Mercedes or a Fiat vs ppl who would buy a Buggati then we agree. But this is something that will help you enjoy games a bit more.Do you justify the 36k pounds??Its aluminium trim with 3 air suspesions(i think they use air)and 3 sensor.I doubt the craftmanship and then materials costs more than 1000 euros.Probably way less than than.....As i said,i dont justify this huge amount bro.
Prosimu T1000 motion simulator is only $1,999
You don't have to buy the cars, you can just rent a super car for a weekend and pay a fraction of the price.
Amazing! I gotta start taking those extra work hours and start saving! Wonderful setup!
Has a £10,000+ simulator and leaves the guiding line on 😂
🤣
Hahahaha
"Car I'm familiar with" . Constantly understeers off track.
and drives with right foot only.
With the racing line switched on haha
@@leerigby5735
It is his first time stepping into the simulator and is trying to get a feel for it. I have no idea how I would behave as I have not tried a simulator as of yet.
@@bighands69 the whole point is it should be like IRL..so you shouldnt need any of that shit on and drive like normal.
@@bunkaaa8726
It may replicate the experience and be realistic from a control point of view but that is not the same as driving in a real car. There simply is no G forces nor is there the real danger your brain is not right away going to take the experience seriously like you would in driving a car.
Nice setup!
So basically you pay the price of a car but what you get is only a steering wheel and a suspended seat.
But basically the running cost is close to zero and you can drive the hole year as long as you want. Buy a car and race it are two different things. F4 car costs arround 50k Euro. A hole season to be competitive cost 500.000 Euro.
It's a toy / training for rich people. This isn't something for cheap / poor people duh
Roasted Yes, but I can't go racing at Spa every day. Or have a fatal crash in a Porsche 908 every day, so it has its uses! lol. It is still won't produce the same degree of wonderful g force feelings of a real car unfortunately. And rarely do you get that sensation that you are actually about to die, unless you drive the sim whilst very tired, and your brain forgets where you are!
Kyo Ani You can pay 2000 dollars for a direct drive steering wheel alone. If you want it to be powerful enough to break your wrist!
+Kyo Ani you would be surprised how much it costs to produce these things in low volume.
Y’all hating him for having fun and doing something that makes him happy! I’m gonna do this when I get the money and technology improved a bit more
30 years of racing games and you have the racing line turned on?
You've been playing games for 30 yrs? You are my dream relative man.
Excited to use my VR on my simulator!
I don't understand... you get all this equipment and you choose project cars as your racing simulator? bad decision
LamboPlays well it's probably the best one as far as I know and an actual racing simulator would be to expensive.
Niels Vantilburg no... take iracing, rfactor or assetto corsa as example. they all cost the same or less and are way better.
LamboPlays never played the first one and asseto corsa is kinda ridiculous when I drive 10kmh in a fiat and don't hit the gas the steering wheel will start vibrating like I'm going 500kmh on a dirt road and except for the tracks it doesn't seem to be more realistic then any other driving simulator.
+Niels Vantilburg You just need to turn down the road effects slider in Assetto Corsa, some wheels have that problem, it's **much** more realistic than Project Cars though.
LamboPlays because it works with vr
Love this. Be great for me to practice driving.
If anyone gets a chance to have a go in this rig, I highly recommend it. Particularly with the 3D headset. Experienced first hand, it's exceptionally good fun.
Awesome review as always!!! Can you pleaseeee tell me what drive setup do you have?
Amazing simulator dude
Even better than my sim
Ive been socialising this evening! Strictly in the simulator dept though !!!
>no left foot breaking
how does someone live like that?
Some cars you want to brake while shifting and you need to use the clutch. ._. you tell me how to do that easily with my left foot. =|
Heel and toe. Also the BAC mono has an automatic clutch doesn't it?
Verbose Slayer it drives me crazy when I see people braking with one foot...
agreed, wont ever understand why people use only one foot to brake.
using both feet and one hand is much safer !
Nonsense, you guys do realize that pretty much any racing driver uses left foot braking in sequential cars? I mean for on the road ofc you should be braking with your right foot. For racing/simulating? Ehh not so much.
Looks mint ! Nice vid.
nice vid! , i just dont understand if you have been simracing so long why the raceline is on on the famous Brands Hatch? :P
Afternoon and on to the wee hours of next morning is more like it! You couldn't get me out of that thing.
This would be lit in quarantine
Just added to my Dream list.
how is this integrated with a PC?
to convert motion of game in to outputs such as vibration and 3 axis movements?>
I would be interested in your reviewing the Force Dynamics racing sim. What are the added benefits of rotational forces in the experience of driving a sim?
I don't understand why fans aren't an integral part of this set up. So much more immersion, especially for the BAC mono.
You know it feels real when he starts shouting during the review
*Gets racing simulator
- Uses driving line on iRacing and Project Cars
It's hard without it lol
It’s bout fun. Let people do what they want without judgement.
therockiesfan3 no it’s not
therockiesfan3 jk
Got to say I prefer the simulators with the wrap around monitors fixed onto the actual rig.
Cheap copies of this are available on Ebay for 20K !! Joking aside , as awesome as this is , if I had the money I would definitely spend it on something that is more needed . Would love to give it a thrashing for an hour though . Awesome video , and gear .... big thumbs up from me :)
Must be awesome with VR!
This is cool and all but the one thing I hate mostly about using wheels is when the wheel doesn't sync up to the Steering wheel on screen and makes somewhat harder to drive if you look at that in this video it does the same.
im so gonna build one of these one day
And how do you plan to hit buttons on the wheel or use a stick shift with a VR unit over your eyes?
Vigilante 8 2nd offense in VR and with a joystick and I'd never leave home. I'd fly around in my car fighting 24/7.
How do they cancel the motion platform movement from the Vive's movement? this is needed for any motion system that uses "extra" movement to simulate g forces, but would be detected by the vive as extra head movement.
So you think that spending tons of money on a straight drive wheel makes that much of a difference? How much power or Torque do you think it takes to turn a real steering wheel? I've been tracking cars for a number of years and I'm just curious as to why you would waste your money on this and not even have a track car?
Guys, check out Wil "mayaman" Tosado's Porsche rig. I have driven the Porsche rig and I believe it does everything this rig does only better (in my opinion). Basically it is a full two seater cockpit on 4x d-box motion, it has a wrap around projection screen but can be used with VR as well. There are videos on CZcams of his rig, even one with me driving in part of it 😎
Can you install a seat belt on that simulator?
I’m asking because I’ve seen motion simulators with seat belts.
Looks like a nice rumble seat ;)
I'm just watching this now, I can't imagine whats currently available
How does the rig connect to the game? I mean what makes the seat move when it does? It's the game itself or does it use an external software?
you should switch to the oculus rift, not the S just the oculus rift
while the Vive sensors have to be stationary for them to work, the Oculus' don't so you can mount them right on the simulator itself. it might help out alittle with the immersion.
You guys should check out Next Level Racing Motion Platform v3. It's "affordable" and it's really good with amazing software and perfect VR support (even some features to keep the head level when being thrown around). I think it looks as good and quick as this!
I can buy an e36 for the same price as this sim
No, actually you can buy a brand new F31 M3 for the price of a sim such as this.
price: 35,999£ inc VAT / 42 470€ / 44 854$. PC to run everything not included. Who would buy this instead of a car. so much money, it's ridiculous.
Real Tai Lopez would write: I can fuck a top clas prostitute all night for the same price as this sim.
Thats NIssan GTR money ... wtf
Well the only *RACE* car you can buy for this money is a Legends vehicle, a 120 horsepower 500 kg oversized go-cart with 5/8 scale 30's cars bodies. Heaps of fun to drive anyway.
Add controlled fan behind the monitor would be nice
Where can I buy the motion system?
Can you give me a hand with this information?
if the line is on.. I bet all assists are on .. stabilty control, traction control, abs etc. Am I right?
Bought the same setup and built my own 80/20 rig and cv1 rift for 10k
Can that have an h pattern shifter on it so you can shift it like a road car?
Why didn't you use a Virutal Reality display for iRacing? I know triple screens provide more visual fidelity, but come on. This setup doesn't even have all those fancy dashboards as a liability (since they become useless in VR).
While I've no experience with VR, I feel like that split second lag between moving my hands and seeing the steering wheel move in game would be quite off-putting. Is it as noticeable as it seems in the video?
Also curious
I knew this video would trigger a reaction the second I saw the title lol. Next time use Assetto Corsa/rFactor 2/iracing and take off the assists if you want to avoid a gang of raging nerds in the comments. Great video though!
It's not hard to understand. They were using iRacing first. But Project cars is the only one that allows VR
What? iRacing and Assetto Corsa both support VR.
Tom Pike they only used Pcars because it has the BAC mono
@@thomaspike1561 "gang of raging nerds" perfect 👍
@@rhythmnsmoke lmaaaaaoooooo very well said.
Does anyone know where or how I can get a affordable motion for my seat? I have the racing seat with steering wheel and pedals plus the PlayStation vr, but the ONLY thing that's missing is the motion of the seat. any help guys?
I thought that there is very big delay between the player movement and the virtual wheel movement...
ARe you new in race driving or why you press brake with right foot?
That would be a great down payment on any car to bring to the track. Heck, by a Miata and track it, and you can race for a year and do plenty of track days too for the real experience. Some things are just getting out of perspective and this is one of them, IMO!
lol Yeah but then most people would figure out that they suck at driving real cars :-) Miata Spec racing is a hell of a lot of fun, been long time friends with Barry Hartzel in Monterey and spent many a weekend at Laguna Seca playing with Miata's.
Cheers ! :-)
Cruden Hexatech is the best out there. You need full racing harness to hold you in the seat. 20 minutes around a track with a F1 is a workout!
This has just blown my mind... I think I should sell my car and get this set up.
Bro, i want to buy this, how much cost and you have a link with this products? ThX!
Nice simulator! How much does the entire sys cost?
does it at least feels like an electronic assistance or hydraulic steering.. that's the question
I like that
Take it to the "next level " buy a fan place it on top of the front monitor
Motion system has very little distance of motion and not clear how many axes of motion exist. I was envisioning something like a fighter flight simulator adapted for racing sim.
I would like to to know the set up and I would build it myself
just need a gravity simulator now for those g forces
Nice!
I think the racing chairs that actually rotate 360 while you turn would be better
The thing about these super high-end sim rigs that cost thousands of pounds (I tried a Vesaro set-up at the London Motor Show that was worth around £15k but can be spec'd up to £52k!) is that... at what point do you just buy a track car instead? Assuming you can't afford both of course...
I suppose it depends what your real motivations are. If you use them to improve your driving then at such a price range a real-life track car would be a better tool - assuming you manage not to incite any hideous repair bills... - but even five-figure sums of cash can't get you into, let's say, a World Series Renault 3.5 at the Nordschleife or something, so if it's meant for opening up a whole world of possible driving experiences (minus the insurance!), then obtaining the most accurate replica of dream car/track combos in which to immerse yourself is a fair argument I guess. But do rigs that cost tens-of-thousands really beat rigs that cost single-thousands or even hundreds? By how much? Where's the point of diminishing returns? And how much of it is actually down to the software (probably a lot)?
I would say when you have a shit load more money than this, 36k will buy you a car, but if you want to race it you're going to need tyres, fuel, brakes, general maintenance, track fees, insurance, safety gear, repairs... Racing is horrendously expensive, that's why real racing teams have sponsors.
It is a dream coming true
I want to buy one.
how much?^_^
Can you tell me where can I get the BMW steering wheel?
We want one sooooo bad!
So how much does one of these cost?, the whole set up to race.
Hey! I’d like to ask you a few questions about your experience with vr gaming and get some ideas on how to improve it! Please respond if you are interested!
This reminds me of the days of arcades
can't wait for the vive VR hire an uber experience or tesla auto drive up the M6
*Drives simulator game in a simulation rig costing thousands of dollars along with a virtual reality headset. Precise steering feedback, precise gravitational force feedback, precise gear change jerking, precise overall instrument feeling* *Still uses driving line to help with braking*
pcars is a hardware demanding sim. if u have req. hw, u can enjoy like this man.
Oh god imagine drifting in this
Driving this thing requires the exactly same skillset as driving a real race car. And there are quite a few sims out there that provide you with realistic physics, handling and feedback. While driving a simulator you are basically doing the same thing that a race driver does in a race or practice session (if we assume that you are good at it, of course). So to all of the people saying this is stupid and pointless because you can't get hurt or die or whatever: the risk of chrashing and getting injured isn't what makes racing fun. Trying to operate a vehicle in a way that takes it to the limits of how fast it can go - that is what it is about. That is the point of the whole motorsport. I would love to be able to get into a real race car and get out on track (I only race go karts occasionally). But until I get or create an opportunity for that to happen, you bet your ass I will be enjoying simracing, because it is actually a lot closer to the real thing than some of you might think.
damn thats pricey. you can get 95% of the way there with any chair, some 2x4s, some fanatec club sport gear, and a rift ($500 instead of $800 for the vive) and of course a half way decent pc. im probably around $2500 total and the only thing im missing is motion. you could get a racingCUBE motion rig for 2 or 3 grand and have even MORE than this cus itll spin all the way around. also, am i mistaken? or is there no place to put an h-pattern shifter on that thing? thats absurd if so
how much is the whole setup, i cant find the price just the price of the pc
First time on his channel. I thought keanu reeves was this guy lol😅
Why can I not find a price for this, and why isn't it in the Description?
Lol headsets would seal it further... Idk why you chose surround sound.
Anyone know how well I can play Assetto Corsa VR with my rig? I have 6 core i7 8750 / 16gb ram / 4.0ghz / GTX 1060. I don't want to waste $400 if it will be a sub par experience with low frames. Thanks in advance for any feedback!
You should be able to run near full spec at 90 FPS as I have a 1060 16 gigs ddr4 and an i7 8700k and I receive near full spec vr at nothing under 90 FPS
How many price is this for home used and gamimg
Mario Kart 8 would be awesome too :D
Actually PS4 does have a direct drive wheel coming out soon.
Funny with sim wheels power is god and yet in reality,at least on any normal car ive driven the steering is always light,at least in the power steering era
This is crazy
I´m a sim-racer for decades myself and I would love to have a go at this but you´d get a nice real car at 36k.
*cough* 2016 Miata *Cough*
I want this where can I get this driving setup?
Why did this guy did not turn off the racing line and all HUD infos?? That would kill my immersion. Except of this, this looks really good and fun to drive :)
lot of lag visible between wheel and screen.
the “motion” simulator appears mainly to be a vibration simulator.
all very nice but hardly close to the real thing.
Its just the editing of the video. There is no lag whatsoever. Trust me.
