I keep trying to remember your phrase, "The first year they creep...." and it always come back to me as "The first year they're 'no', the second year they're slow, the third year they really grow." Eventually, I'll remember your phrasing.
The first year they sleep, the second year they creep, the third year they leap!
We need that on a t-shirt!
@@GreenhornBonsai I always used this for my climbers in the garden. Or at first root then shoot, then fruit.
Greetings, Nick! It's nice to see your lovely bright face on this cold, snowy day ☀
Lovely to see you
You are the reason I got back to plants again. If your able to speak to a lawyer, you might be able to get all your issues solved. Your home is your lively hood. You're the best. Please take care of you.
I put soil in a baby food jars and put a philo cutting (each had 1 leaf) in 3 jars. I have three of the BUSHIEST & FULLEST little philos I've ever grown. I'm probably going to have to smash the jars to get the plants out next year. It didn't even take them long to grow! I just keep them wet enough not to sit in water.
Hello my dear! I do not know you but I thought about you the other day when I looked at my plants and want to send you all the good wishes💜
Cute dry bar
Hi Nick!! Great video, as always! Thank you soooo much for calling the plastic containers, or "Takeout" containers, what they are, instead of just calling ALL, and EVERY plastic container, No Matter what Brand it is, "Tupperware"!!! That drives me nuts when I hear Planty CZcamsr's calling ALL containers Tupperware.
I've missed your videos. Glad to see you today!
Great to see you! You’re one of the highlights of my week. Do you over use root powder to help insure it takes? Have a great holiday!
Thank you Nick i always enjoy watching your video's? have a blessed xmas.
Merry Christmas 🎄
Thank yoou ! You make me smile. I especially liked the "prenatal" part as I am a retired midwife :)
Perfect timing. I have a raphidora that has a long vine that doesn’t have leaves. Great idea
🎄 Merry Christmas! 🎄
So cute, I never have success..maybe I need to do when is warmer
I Love using pumice, it doesn't float to top of substrate🤗🌱💚 this is such a cool video💚🌱💚🌱pot and plant are adorable!!!
The "root grows below where leaf was.. so thats the bottom if doing water or soil propogation. Have a wonderful Christmas/holiday season 💚🎄🎁
…stressing the essential of patience - how excellent…
I’m currently working with a whale fin sanseveria ( I refuse to call em by their new genus lol) and am scared to mess it up as it only has a leaf! Wish me luck! Wish I had multiple in a pot as a back up 😅
You've Got This Adrian!
Good luck!!!!
Of course, you put this video out the day *after* I chopped and propped my scindapsis. 🤣 Thank you again for your wholesome content and fun personality!
Merry Christmas, good video
As usual, a very helpful video with great tips. I love my Nick videos! Ty!
I’ve not seen a Nick video in moons!!! So good catching up by watching this YT video! I hope I are doing well! Merry CHRISTmas! 🎄 ❤ 🪴
This is the exact plant I've been thinking about propagating! The one stand looks so scrawny it's been calling my scissors name...
Omg I was just thinking how Campostportianum is crazy like a weed I love them so beautiful I have a bunch I can sell or gift tfs
The internode isn't worthless when propagating. A larger wet stick will produce growth much faster than a small one. I don't trim away the internode unless it's needed when potting.
Absolutely nothing wrong with your technique (especially when working with a small container). I'm just impatient & will do anything to speed things along 😅
usually people get rid of the internodes because they can rot and bring some damages to your cuttings but sometimes it works also ! nature is very resilient.
Would love to see more close ups or over the head shots . Thank you
Keep in mind it is a better idea to have a little more stem mass on the cutting below the node, because the node will absorb those nutrients and you're more likely to get larger leaves off the bat, allowing the ends to callous before propagation to prevent rot.
i actually prefer a bit of stem above the node for that reason, tho the internodal below the leaf will likely produce roots too.. but like he says sometimes it just rots, but that never happens when i leave stem above the node. sometimes it dies back slowly.. but i dont propagate like he does in moss and a small bowl.. i do it right in a pot in soil.. i actually prefer up to 4 nodes on my cuttings too
Hi Nick! This was very helpful! I've tried the one node method on a philo in soil and it was a fail. I'm trying some hoya in sphagnum moss, but haven't checked them yet. Also, my container is clear, but has a solid lid. It sits on a windowsill, so I'm hoping it is working. 🤞It was even more helpful when you pulled out the container that you did earlier, to see what to expect, and that it works. ;-) I always appreciate your videos, and look forward to each one. You sounded better in this video, so I hope you are doing better. Thank you so much for sharing!
Omg u r a genius
i like to loop my long stems like that back into the pot.. sticking the tip back into the soil and when it starts growing i cut it off where it enters the soil and then i do it again sticking the new cut end again into the soil this is a great way to fill up a pot but it doesnt make as many cuttings at one time.. i dont usually need 20 cuttings tho : ) love your videos, keep them coming please
Very cute all right!
💚🌱🪴🌵💚
Hi Nick great video question did u water thoroughly after and then how often do you water new plants while still young thanks so much
I’m always chopping because I have no space, then I end up with more plants and even less space.
on a 2nd note...i love the booze in the back!!! LOL
Propagate, propagate, propagate
Nick, Thank you for this . Do you have any Dracenas in trouble ? Would like to see how to rehab one.
Nice propagation, Nick! Are you considering selling some of your propagations??!
I have a silver sword that's super lanky so it could use a chop ✂️ is there a way you could put nodes in some water? I gotta try this. Thanks Nick! 😍
I work with Leca & I am falling in love with Philos.....mostly because I seem to have good results from them. I just bought a McColleys, a Prince of Orange & an Imperial Red. Which ones would do well on a moss pole? and which ones would thrive best in a leca pot? Love your show
When you repot something that you've propagated in sphagnum Moss do you typically leave some of the sphagnum moss on the root system or do you remove?
“She would look a lot worse if she were dead” 😂😂😂
Can I do this with a monstera adansonii?
Hey Nick, I need help... as I'm name obsessed freak ... I have philodendron which anatomicaly (cataphileand leaf shape) looks exactly as juvenile Hastatum, but its leaves are bright green... any idea what that might be? Anybody??? Thanx!
🌱❤
The pain I feel when the word sink leaves these people's mouths. Ph balance your water people! Your plants will thank you. I also pray he was using a really good filter. I have a reverse osmosis one
Sometimes when I watch your videos, I realise that you should have been British. I can't explain why.
MERRY CHRISTMAS NIC I hope you are having a great day looking forward to A new year of Plants 🪴 😊
