The reason why McDonalds tastes so different in italy is because of the high food standards there. Italians have extremely strict food laws and a lot of stuff that goes into food in the US is mostly illegal in Europe anyway.

McDonald's in Rome was terrible. What great tasting beef patties. New Zealand and Australia. If you think the Maccas is good there, I wonder how bad it is in the States

The “syrup” in the tiramisù you took at the mc cafe was actually coffe. So when you drank the macchiato after you tasted it you literally used coffe to get rid of coffee flavour lol.

I disagree a little bit, cos he's biased when it comes to asian foods, New York style thin crust pizza, and spicy food. But he is honest, though, although biased towards certain foods, I'll give you that. So, to be clear, I never questioned his honesty, just his judgement, a little bit. Cos he's partial to those things I mentioned. 👍😉

I felt the same way about McDonald's that you felt in Paris, when I was Italy! I had been eating amazing Italian food, night and day for about 5 days and just wanted something different. I took a high-speed train to Venice and in the beautiful station there were shops and a McDonald's. It looked like I was walking up to the pearly gates of heaven. LOL And I swear, it was the best McDonald's I have had in my entire life!
Same! But had the same experience in Yogyakarta. After 2 weeks of nasi goreng, McDonald’s tasted a whole lot better!
I have a friend from Paris. He misses the McDonald's there. He hates the McDonald's here in Canada. He told that the McDonald's in France work together with local farmers. Everything is fresh everyday

If you want some advice from me, go to Naples for the best pizza (Pizzeria Da Michele is the most loved pizzeria), Emilia-Romagna (Especially Bologna) for the best lasagna or tortellini, Sicily for Cannoli, Genova for Paccheri alla Genovese. And most importantly, do some research because many restaurants make overpriced terrible food just for the tourists!

Eldawn that was the version with egg in it, the regular one has just beef bacon and cheese and it’s much better imo! The egg doesn’t really make any sense and it’s huge haha

I lived in Italy for a bit about 3 years ago and am so excited to see you went to Gelateria del Teatro! I had the red wine and chocolate gelato there as well as pumpkin and a few other flavors (it was on my walk home)! Best gelato in Rome is La Romana for when you go back!
La Romana is good but it is definitely not the best, I used to go to school in the Prati district (where La Romana is) and I still to this day hang out in the city center and Trastevere, and these three combined probably are the best concerning what Rome has to offer as far as gelato and after having tried multiple times all the worthy gelato places in this zones I can tell you that La Gelateria dei Gracchi makes the best gelato in Rome
The pastry in the mc cafè come in frozen uncooked and then they cook them on the moment.
They are of the low quality kind, they are very sad croissants but what is sadder is that some of the local bar have that kind too porcoddio

As an italian, I am freaked out by the descriptions.
I don't have a high opinion on McDonald's as it is, the fact you find it THIS tasty in Italy makes me think of all sorts of horrors about how it must taste in the US...

Mcdonalds really should open a string of restaurants nationwide that serve just menu selections from outside the U.S.

In Italy they are called Cornettos and are a little more sweet than the French Croissant. I LOVE THEM!
Yeah, exactly. They're sweeter and with a more dense dough. And cornetto as been invented before the croissant, was made by bakeries in the Veneto region. The french baker whom pulled out a croissant in Paris for the first time had been right in that Italian area couple years before the croissant showed up, and copied that recipe from Italians. Btw, the first version of this cornetto- croissant kind of pastry is Austrian. So if there is an originary place , that's neither France nor Italy, but Austria.

The Mc Donald's we have here in Australia are half the size and taste much like the box it came in .
They cant do that in italy, or none would come to eat there, maybe only tourists. Italians are used to eat well
In Italy (as in most of Europe) we have laws preventing the use of harmful artificial ingredients in fast food restaurants from overseas. That's why our McDonald's/Burger King restaurants taste so good, because the burgers are made with local meat and everything is produced with healthy ingredients.
Fast food places are about 30 times better in places that arent america
yha i don't eat fast food anymore its just not healthy really they let the food stale and not hand made.

I dunno I prefer the refillable drinks in the American one and the burgers were pretty banging. Its a bit stingy in the UK

Tiramisu is my absolute favorite Italian dessert. My mom served her mission in Rome Italy, so we love to make it every Christmas. Of course without the rum or coffee since we're LDS, but it's still absolutely delicious. Its just a shame I can't have a lot of Italian food since I'm gluten intolerant, but I'm willing to get sick after a few peices of tiramisu because of how good it is lol.

Love the flow of this video. I've watched it twice already, and it really helps me relax. From the pizza, to the fountain, to the sexy gelato, to the surprising upscale McDonald's AM menu. And a must have on those wings, surprisingly good, aren't they?

I was in Italy a couple of years ago and the tour guide said Italy has a large system of free public toilets and pointed to the McDonalds. Needless to say Italians don't really eat there!
Guess to them McDonald’s is just food chain I wouldn’t mind trying it tried Burger King at Vietnam I prefer American the breakfast I think they put barbecue sauce it threw me off I think in my mind never again
In Italy many young guys go to McDonalds, it's a fashion and a question of prices. The raw material is of quality. In Italian homes you eat something else and for the kids go to McDonald's has become a status quo ...

I remember when I went to McDonalds in Rome back in 1984. It was in the fashion district. They were forced to put exhaust hoods way above to vent the obnoxious fumes away as per the designers. They were nauseous from the "cooking smells". It was a nice Mickey D's, you could get a nice salad and wine and beer.
Everything in Italy and France tastes better than anywhere else.

I've had MacDonald's in several European countries Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, Majorca, turkey, greece and Tenerife and all were ok. I live in UK and would love to try MacDonald's in USA! Burger King is different as It varies a lot more due to being a franchise.

One of my most memorable food experiences was in McDonald's in Paris where I tried a Daim Mcflurry. I was in heaven. My second memorable food experience was when I first tried Prawn Laksa, which is still my favourite dish.

When I was in Rome, I stayed there. In the sense that I was born there and I am living in quarantine.
I had the mushroom fried onion burger in the US. The beef was unrecognizable as McDonald's. It tasted more like what you would make at your house. The only difference between it, and their other hamburgers, they cooked it upon order.

As always it amazes me how McDonald’s all over the world has much higher standards for food than in the U.S. Perhaps consumers worldwide are more discerning than Americans and McDonald’s simply needs to compete at a higher level. I would guess food culture, including higher quality food is more of a birthright in places like Rome, Paris, etc....thoughts? Thanks again for the time and effort you put into all your work.. I can confirm that the beef in the burgers over there is really really really gooood. Italy and France and for some reason czech mcdonald's burgers are a bit on the pricey side but so worth it.

You went all the way to Italy and you didn't drink real coffee there, you should've replaced that mcdonalds coffee with a real one.
McCafè actually has real italian coffee ..they use the normal coffee machines u find in normal bars same for the coffee.
I rarely go to McDonalds but if I do, I only have a coffee there. Here in Vienna, McCafés have very good coffee, made with professional Italian espresso machines (Cimbali).

Pro-tip when you take MacDonald fries home heat them up on medium heat with no oil. The oil in them will crisp them up nicely

Mc in Rome is great. The only place I eat. My friend in Ukraine sends me pics of the Mc she gets over there. Also looks really good compared to Mc in the US.
