Day 15: Rome, Italy - To start our day in Rome we first headed over to the Pantheon and had some amazing espresso. Then we visited the Pantheon, which is one of the most famous attractions in Rome. We had pizza for lunch and then walked over to the Vatican City. After doing some of top things to do in the Vatican City, we ate Roman Jewish food for dinner.
1:07 La Casa Del Caffè Tazza D'oro - There were two cafes I wanted to check out, so the first, located right next to the Pantheon was La Casa Del Caffè Tazza D'oro. The espresso was awesome. Price - .90 EUR per coffee ($1.00)
2:54 Pantheon - One of the most famous attractions in Rome is the Pantheon, and although I had seen it the day before, I didn’t have a chance to go in. So today we admired the amazing Pantheon.
4:23 Gelateria Della Palma - Right around the corner from the Pantheon is a gelato shop that has so many different flavors, it will drive you crazy trying to decide what to order. Since we arrived early, this gelato shop still wasn’t busy. Ying especially enjoyed the gelato. Gelato - 3.5 EUR ($3.92)
6:09 Sant'Eustachio Il Caffè - I’m pretty crazy for coffee, so we stopped into another famous coffee shop to have another cup of espresso. They make one of the creamiest espressos I’ve ever had, even though it doesn’t include milk. Coffee - 1.30 EUR ($1.45)
7:43 Antico Forno Roscioli - One of the most famous foods to eat in Rome is pizza, especially when you want a quick bite to eat. Roscioli as its known for short is a full bakery, and their pizza is amazing. I started with a tomato and cheese pizza, followed by some slices with other toppings. Total price - 9.94 EUR ($11.12)
12:32 Vatican City - The Vatican City, a city state within Rome and ruled by the Pope is a must visit when you’re in Rome. I bought tickets online and we first headed to the Vatican Museums, one of the world’s most famous art museums. Along with the Sistine Chapel, I especially enjoyed seeing the Raphael Rooms. Vatican Museums Online tickets - 20 EUR ($22.37) per person
17:01 St. Peter's Basilica - After the Vatican Museums, we walked over to St. Peter’s Basilica, and after walking around for a while, I decided to climb to the top of St. Peter's Basilica Dome, which was one of the highlights of visiting the Vatican City for me - 6 EUR ($6.71).
20:53 Roman Jewish Food at Nonna Betta Restaurant - There’s a long history of Jews in Rome, and Roman Jewish food is common in Rome especially in a certain area of the city. I didn’t want to leave Rome without eating some Roman Jewish food, so we ate dinner at a restaurant called Nonna Betta. The artichoke was good, the pasta was good, but the real winner dish for me was the oxtail. Total price - 49 EUR ($54.82)
Day 14 in Rome was an excellent day of visiting attractions in the Vatican City and eating delicious pizza and Roman Jewish food.

I was here in 2012. Italy is just amazing, A 100 times better than even what you see in this video. Everyone should visit Italy before they die.
I was there last year. Beautiful, but what bothered me the most is that you can't just wonder around without being annoyed by either a dude trying to get you inside a overpriced restaurant or an african guy trying to scam you. I hate when places like this are ruined by greed and will to get that naive tourists' money.

@@mikiii880 I recommended it to a friend, she told me she hated it so and cried all night! Since then, I do not recommend any place to anybody. She is a very weird person. She after realized Rome is totally different from Paris, she LOVES Paris. Then she never wanted to go to Spain, a friend talked her into going and returned CRAZY about Spain. She is weird.

Hi there.
I read your comment and honestly this sounds like an American couple from Texas that not very long time ago they opened a family business here in Milano. And the weirdest part of this story is that they tried so hard to put some rules and policies that we Italians we never heard before and we never agreed with them. I'm not saying that we Italians we are the best, but it's very hard for us especially Italians to copy with other people rules. We tried to make them understand short and clear for their success, but and because we tried to do the best they still insisted to their own.
Then several months ago nobody walked in and out of their business and that's how they failed it. So I'm trying to say that some people in the world are really weird and because you can tell them that this is the best option for them they will still insist and disagree with you even if you're doing something right. We all live in a weird world.

My wife and I spent a short holiday in Rome last August, and I must say the experience was wonderful. We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express and apart from tripping over a number of very ignorant Chinese tourists, the hotel experience was brilliant. We never experience any thing other than nice friendly people. I have a dissability which means I have to use a wheelchair. I had no idea that access to the Vatican was free, more over, some ramps my wife could not get the chair up.
Italians to the rescue, I was amazed at their kindness and help. We frequented two local restaurants, one called Scaramouche, and the othe Rosso Margarita, the food, service, and friendliness was impressive. The proprietor, Maximus, was an absolute gem, helping me to get into the restaurant, and again out, his father was also in a wheelchair. Sorry if I bore any reader, but I felt I just had share my experiences.

Thanks Mark, We lived in Italy/Rome for almost 3 years, What I learned if you want to enjoy your food and don't wanna get ripped off, Stay clear from the main touristy areas. If you want a coffee, you can get the same or better quality in a Trattoria away from the main attractions, same with "gelato. Also less pickpockets away from these places.

I spent 5 days in Rome in 1976. Had an amazing time, ate some exciting food, and met many wonderful people. Ah, to be young again. I drank so much Expresso my first two days in Rome that I got no sleep at all those two nights. From then on I learned to drink regular Expresso in the mornings, but for the rest of each day I ordered Caffe Ag, which is decafinated Espresso. REMEMBER the name Caffe Ag (pronounced "aag") if you want to get sleep at night.

@@anushkaa28 It's the tail of an ox. It's delicious. You can and should eat every part of an animal if you kill it. The organs are also delicious.
Oxtail used to be cheap but now all the new immigration it has gotten expensive. In May I got one for myself and it was 7:00$ and then I had to cook it. Delicious!

Oh My God, back in high school me and my friends would always go for a piece of pizza at Roscioli after school (that was a MUST, ahaha!) and then meet on Saturday morning at Della Palma for the most amazing granita al caffè con panna in the world. So many memories, I love my city, I'm glad you had a great time here as well ❤️

Yes, it was called "Ghetto" back then. Actually, the word "ghetto" all over the world come from that word. And that word come from the venetian dialect "gheto", or "geto", i.e. the casting ("getto") of iron, since the Jews of Venice were enclosed on an island where there was a foundry. The Ghetto of Rome was officially established by law in 1555 (i.e. the Jews coudn't live out of that area), but that zone of Rome was the "Jewish District" since the Roman Empire and even now that such an insulation policy is not accepted or practiced anymore, it remains "the Jewish District" and there live VERY old Jews families and many shops (particularly textiles shops and jewelries) are owned by those families.
I was seriously sceptical about how good the pizza would be when I was in Rome, but oh my god......I have NEVER had better pizza in my life. THIN crusty, BUT NOT too crusty just the right amount base with amazing cheese I've ever had. I also fell in love with the icecream, the best I've had so far, not even joking.
