Great details as always. Agree, shame that rear seat looks a bit low, leaving 'knees in your face' like a sedan's back seat! Strange about the fuel consumption! Much approve of the relaxing "comfort" ride. Comfort is what I'd seek most in this type of car. But actually I don't need such a large (or expensive!) car. Thomas, few comments. On rear axle steering missing, looks that M reaches turning cycle of 12,2m with out it, while competition starts from 12,6-12,9 and with rear wheels steering they get closer to M ca. 11,8-12,1 - see ADAC tests ! For noice level M is same level as Q7 follow the ADAC numbers ca. 64dB at 130 while Bmw or Porsche are higher. Breaks wise surprisingly M stops 1,5m shorter than A or B ! All in all I like a lot your benchmarking towards the competition, as this helps and thats why we are looking for :-).
The GLE is one of the few cars that looks good with small rims in my opinion. The tires just seem more off-roady and cool when they are large and the rims are small.
Nice review! I love the interior. The exterior is really nice too, but it should have come without the fake exhaust tips. Better have no exhaust tips at all, would have looked very clean.
Could you do a review of the 2020 Lexus LC 500.. I would appreciate your thoughts and insight into this car and I think your viewers would also enjoy a review of this car. I' m looking at purchasing one in the stunning Infrared Red color but I'm also liking the Nightfall Mica Blue with the Toasted Caramel interior.. I may wait one year as I hear its going to be coming out in a convertible in 2020 which I think would be stunning!!! Anyway I would appreciate your consideration of this request...Love your channel and especially your insight and overall content. Thanks

I have been a sports car guy since I was in high school and purchased my first new car a 1969 Datsun 2000 Roadster followed a year later with the brand new 240Z in blue then on to Porsches 911, 911 Targa, 911 turbo, 914-6 (which I raced) then BMW 6 series & M3, M5, Range Rovers (2) and now Audi R8 & S7. Needless to say I enjoy driving!!! Again Thanks for the hard work on these videos. It shows !!!

Hi Thomas. Which one would be a better 7 seater pick in Netherlands. GLE or BMW X5 (petrol). And why? In your video I saw GLE made some weird noise while you accelerated on the highway which you noticed it too. Is it that they have focused more on comfort and interior looks and somewhere ignored the coupling of gear shifts with the engine?
@@autogefuehl GLE is 180 sm in hight, X5 is 175 sm,Cayenne is 172 sm, if there no difference is realy strange.Range Rover Sport is the same hight like GLE 180 sm but the driving position is higher.How it is possible?
Why are car manufacturers still producing cars with fake exhaust tips ? Its very off putting actually. Also mpg is very disappointing for this day and age. I love the look of Mercedes in general and MBUX interiors look great bu t please Mercedes can you release more fuel efficient cars.
Wtf?! I dont understand how mercedes does make some decisions. I have previous gle coupe 350d, without amg pack also, but in comparison with this one, i have ugly front brake calipers (without logo) and small brake discs. And now they make the same “not amg” version, but with nice front brakes, perforated discs, and nice looking calipers. I dont understand why they couldn’t put the same brakes on previous “not amg pack” version of gle.
Eine perfekte Konfiguration! Wunderschöner GLE! Auch ohne AMG Line👌🏼. Aber brilliantblau (oder auch 'Thomas-Blue' ;) würde ich trotzdem bevorzugen. Cavansitblau ist zwar schön und edel, aber brilliant ist einfach ein tick schöner 😍.
All the money it costs for one of their most luxurious cars, and they give don't even give you actual exhausts in line with the design. Silly Merc. Also with the interestingly contrasting interior design choices; in that, the combination of classic wood accents and leather seating in combination with aluminium is alright, but the interior lighting is just damn ugly in this one. So out of place that even if one were to switch them off, their diffuser lines would still be visible. I don't know what the general consensus is but if I were to pay that much money for a clearly more... let's say grown up, car, then I think I would have liked these to be more in line with that. Great music throughout the video today though :-D

i watched 3 videos of new gle all have air suspension why you are not testing one with stock suspensions.

Well it depends on ground clearance and the seating position. The car can sit higher, but the seat can be lower and vice versa :)
no difference I meant with that as a customer, you dont really feel like "oh this car is much higher than the other one" when _sitting_ in it

The 350d is the 2.9 litre diesel.
I bought the GLE350de and the leather quality is extrem bad. The rest of the car after 5.000km is great.
You tap your shoes getting in the back seat.
