This will soon become the highest selling MB globally, due to the space, infotainment, quality and performance at a competitive price. I think it’s a very handsome little SUV inside and out. IMO, it’s best in class.
We just recently opted for the GLC 43 (in Thomas Blue); my wife wanted the taller vehicle and I fell in love with the performance and sound of the twin turbo V6 with sport exhaust. We did not need the third row.
Looking forward to the GLB 45 AMG review!

The new Mercedes GLB 35 AMG is very cool and the color I liked is blue is very elegant in the car interior.
I'll take the Galaxy blue with the black pkg + red seats! I like the boxy look! Reminds me the GLK!

Is it the heavy door type like the C Class or a light door like a B Class?

Hi Thomas. Great review. I'm looking for a new vehicle but I'm very confused between GLB AMG and GLC 300. Both are at same price and I dont care about 3 row seating. GLC feels bigger but GLB AMG has more room. GLC is seated a bit higher but GLB AMG gives me AMG tag, better engine - see how confused I am. Can you please please help. Thank you!
Surprised to see the 'Panamericana' grille on a 35 model! Does this suggest they will cascade this from the 63 down to 43 and 53 models in future?
what would you suggest as i can see you are driving cars in Germany so what is better diesel or petrol engine, my point is diesel scandal in Europe so it is silly to buy Diesel GLB?

Ive looked everywhere and cannot find an answer... I know the GLB200 uses a Renault engine, but does the GLB200d also use a Renault?
Any idea how Amg 35 drives off-road ?
I like appearance. I prefer the AMG Line, the cost is lower. I am not concerned with the added power of the True AMG although I wouldn't mind it. However I may end up persuaded to purchase the higher priced True AMG because I want the vertical grill design it offers. Question.. can I order a new build from Mercedes with the True AMG Vertical Grill design?
Very good review, and what a car for that price! I am also very interrested in the new GLA, coming this spring, and also your exellent reviewing on that model. Going to order one of them, not the AMG though, a price and comfort matter. But when is it coming? The factory in Germany is closed two weeks because of the corona virus. Let’s hope everything goes back to normal as quick as possible and that the spreading of the virus slows down when more and more get immune, if that is the soloution, I don’t know...

Hi Thomas, thank you for awesome review like always. I'm seriously considering getting this car so I have some questions. What options do you recommend for most comfort for the base model of GLB 250 4matic? I'm thinking 18'' wheel + adaptive suspension. Also how do you think this car compares to other cars in similar price range? I like all the techs in this car but wondering if you think there are better choices from different makers. Thanks!
Hey m8, thanks! Indeed 250 best engine and adaptive suspension. The smaller the wheels, the more comfort you ll have. 18 should still work indeed. Still 17" will be more plush in the riding, gotta find a good compromise between visual and comfort
@@autogefuehl Id definitely take 17" as you are suggesting if there was on option but for US 18 is smallest wheel. Since you test out many cars, how do you think GLB compares to cars like GLC, X3, and etc?

11:52 what are you talking about? cooled seats are mostly leatherette ones. Fabric ones usually don't even need cooling. Both Kia and Hyundai for example are using leatherette cooled seats for a while now.
Most manufacturers only offer that with real animal skin combination sadly. Good with kia/Hyundai!

Mine does in Canada... no opf filter here.. but it's not super loud.. it's more subtle compared to other AMG's

GLB 35 sounds very quiet -no mention of sports exhaust, Thomas? I remember the A35 video earlier this year , and with the same engine it surely sounded way better?

Hi Thomas , i just placed order for a 200D GLB . I had a C220D back in 2004 and I loved that car, confort and built quality and materials were excellent . What i fear about this GLB is that materials in interiors might be quite on the cheap side, I heard a lot of rumors about the interior being "rattling" quite a lot . Did you get the feeling that you were driving a "cheaper" Benz ? Do you think in the long or short term the fact that it is made in Mexico and perhaps with cheaper materials might show ? Thanks

Incorrect - not only Tesla and Mercedes are offering heated and cooling seats, as do Lincoln and Ford for years, as well as Audi and Volkswagen plus their sub-brands.
Insulation made it off my list.

This car is awesome in this trim. I hate Mercedes for doing those marketing things where they sell base model cars which look so ugly that you are almost obliged to pay extra for better look... Thanks for the review, Thomas.

The GLB is 10 cm longer in wheelbase to a B class. Shouldn't there be even more legroom available, than there is ?
I saw Thomas sitting in a B class before and the knee room didn't look much different.

27:10 gear shifts are really nice, better than some higher AMG models
Ahhhhhh, the variable sunlight conditions, when the sun is going in and out of the clouds... curse you weather gods!!! You should see on a big film set when this happens. 60 people sitting around waiting with maybe 2 guys (the DP and gaffer) with their gaffers glass looking up at the sun for a good break. You can correct this after in editing if you have the time or leave the camera in automatic iris. One or the other. Trying to correct a correction is a pain in the butt.
Any who, this GLB is going to eat a lot of GLC sales imo. Kind of strange they introduced this vehicle, but then again, people can get enough SUVs in their lives can they? ;)
A tiny follow up question as I'm considering an "unreasonable" swap: being someone who really enjoys good quality sound system while driving long distances on German autobahns in high speed, you mentioned several times that the noise insulation is not the greatest. Would you say that the AMG version of GLB, in comparison to current B Class 250, would be significantly worse in that respect? I'm trying to get a some kind of feeling as to whether in a long run it would start to irritate if I could not enjoy my music to the full potential of the Burmester while eating mileage. Thanks for your brilliant and thorough reviews!

If noise insulation is important for you, do not go for the AMG

I’m still split on if I like the GLB, but my word this car is crying for a decent aftermarket exhaust, it sounds so wimpy!! Stupid noise regulations. Great review.

I can reccomend a new concept for folks to try: if you don't like it, don't buy it. All cars can't be all things to all people. Want a throaty sound, get a sports car. Off roading is your thing? Get a common 4x4. Too easy.

VW Tiguan Allspace, Skoda Kodiaq (RS vs the AMG), X2 is way smaller. Rather X3 and Audi Q5 again since GLB has same length as GLC

Thomas, thanks for the video, your car reviews are really great. About this car, it looks beautiful, but I felt quite disappointed after seeing how the car works on the motorway. Is this car that noisy? I'm no talking about the motor sound but a lack of interior insulation/quality at high speed? I think that SUV, specially premium SUVs, should also give the confort as an standard.

The normal GLB looks rather great because it is focused on being a crossover, but this one looks very bad because it’s NOT A SPORTY CAR

The bezel size is a laughing stock. You pay premium price for 10 inch display but get only 6,5. What a joke
No offence, but why should somebody buy a GLB as an Amg? In my opinion the car is one of the "not so beautiful" cars of Mercedes, the B class is normally the class for older people. And I think a Amg version doesn't fit for a B or GLB.
