This is the Mercedes-AMG GLB 35, and Mat’s on hand to find out whether this performance SUV is the ultimate family car you can buy in 2021!
And why could it be the ultimate family car, we hear you ask? Well if you’ve got a big family but you still love the opportunity to put your foot down from time to time, then you may need to look no further! Not only does it come with 7 seats on the inside, but with a 2-litre turbo 4 cylinder under the bonnet, the GLB 35 can put down 306hp & 400Nm of torque!
But the engine isn’t the only upgrade over the standard GLB. It's also graced with both AWD & launch control, and there are a host of styling upgrades including a roof spoiler, updated bumpers at the front & back, as well as an AMG grille and 20-inch alloy wheels!
There’s one problem though… It costs around £52,000! So if you’re willing to splash that much on a car, would you really choose a 7-seat family car?! You’ll have to keep watching to see if you should!

Am I the only one who thinks this car looks great? Doesn't look overly aggressive and is boxy which both are a rarity these days. Looks wonderful!

@@tommybalboa3499 oh...thank you very much for the quick reply . I have been half minded about buying this car. It ticked all the boxes i was looking for in a car. Needs to fit my family, easy ingress and fun to drive . But i guess being too stiff would just make it not too pleasant for my family to travel

The GLB is one of the best looking Mercedes SUVs/Crossovers right now, reminds me of the old GLK.
I think it looks absolutely gopping tbh 😆 the rear end especially I think is atrocious

@@reececollison5101 I think it really depends on the taste, I usually prefer boxier suvs rather than those modern monstruosities called CUVs.
And the second gen. GLA is just too generic, looks like a Mazda.
Bought one of these 2 weeks ago . Definitely loving it. We are a young family with a 4 month year old and eventually more on the way and it checks all the boxes. When he's not in the car I can still feel like I'm driving something fun when I slam on the pedal. Dad will never grow up

Those outer grilles actually do have a purpose; the horizontal strakes help align the airflow so that it goes through those wheel curtain vents instead of up and over

I drove this car as a loan car when my AMG was being serviced. I was impressed. It looks small outside, but ridiculously spacious inside. But it's not that fast, but not too slow either. What I liked about is how easy it is to launch. It's ready anytime, unlike the A45 and CLA45 where you have take few steps before you can launch them.
Absolutely love this look, best looking SUV in my opinion, bringing a bit of 90s shape back

Vans are boxy , functional rather than designed for looks, with usually squared shaped , slightly rounded front ends and literally a box behind that. This looks exactly the same. Its a bonnet and a box behind it. If you take out the rear seats the only thing that tells its not a van is the raised , probably non-flat floor. Its hilarious how the industry taught people anything with ground clearance higher than 5cm is an "SUV".

@@Aronsson007 I mean, yeah it is annoying and if I would be paying 52k for a car I would want it coverd up, but I feel like everything else in and around the car pretty much makes up for it. In my opinion it's currently one of the best looking cars both on the inside and on the outside.

Haven't tried out an AMG SUV yet but when I took my E450 coupe in for service they gave me an A35 AMG sedan with this same powertrain and it's pretty fun. It definitely has some character and personality to it! I do agree about the road noise though and that's really my one and only complaint as even with the 19" wheels on the A35 tire roar is definitely a thing at highway speeds.

Great video! I would like to recommend a couple of reviews of other cars. The Audi SQ7 with both the Petrol and Diesel 4.0l V8 and the Mercedes-Benz GLS 63 with either the 5.5l V8 or the new MHEV GLS 63 with the 4.0l V8.
Smooth design
The GLB 35 does 0-60 just as fast as the newest RCF Track Edition. So either this is impressive or the RCF is underperforming.
