    .............................................................
    Introducing the Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio! It's undergone a mid-life facelift, and Mat's got his hands on one to find out whether this Italian performance SUV still has what it takes to go toe-to-toe with its key competitors!
    If you're in the market for a Stelvio Quadrifoglio, you'll be happy to hear there's one area that hasn't changed during this facelift - the glorious engine! You'll still find a 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 hiding under the bonnet, and it puts down an epic 510hp and 600Nm of torque!
    But that’s not all! Even with it being an SUV, it can still pelt you to a top speed of 176mph, while also helping you hit 60mph in just 3.8 seconds! All pretty speedy, partly thanks to the relatively light 1830kg weight.
    So, the performance is still great, but what other updates have they made to the car? And even with great performance, is it still worth the £74,000 starting price?! You’ll have to join Mat for this in-depth review to find out!

    Stelvio-Owner here - after already 80'000 km, the very best part to me: the direct steering. The 12:1 steering ratio compared to 13:1 to classic sports cars (Porsche, etc.) and 14.5:1 for 'normal' cars is just mind boggling. So much cart-feeling, damn, I have to cut the youtube time and go back to ride it..

    • @pete3198
      @pete3198 Před 2 lety +4

      This comment makes me want to buy one!
      I had an Alfa 147 GTA which I sold about 6 months ago, and one of my favourite thigns about that car was the lightning quick steering. From memory 1.7 turns lock-to-lock which I believe is the quickest steering rack ever on a production car - at least I couldn't find any information to indicate otherwise.
      It just makes the car feel so sharp, agile and responsive - it makes the 1360kg or so 147 GTA feel like a 900kg car.
      There aren't many cars with steering that can compare to that IMHO, so if the Giulia / Stelvio has similarly sharp steering I could be as god as sold!

      @@pete3198 Amazing answer, many thanks! I literally felt the joy you had reading it. I'm sitting on 97'000 km now, just did 17k more. Oh well. And, the mind boggling thing is: It's not just the steering but the comparable light weight, the perfect weight ratio of 50:50, the amazing positive crash-reviews and last but not least the Stelvio has the sexiest friggin arse in car history - at least for me =) It is like you got THE beauty and you have THE best ride with it ..

    was owning the 159 ti selespeed and thought of either the Giulia or the Stelvio when I went for a new car in 2018, but the reliability (or lack thereof) of the 159, paired with the small boot of either of the cars (couldn't fit my golfing gear inside) made me go for a Mazda CX-5 instead.. reliability-wise the best decision i've ever done..
