  • A wonderful surprise blaster that appeared from a combination of Silverfox Industries, Foamblast, Drac, Captain Slug, and Out of Darts. I wanted to express my appreciation not only for the people involved in this, but to all who create the things that are enjoyed by not only myself, but so many in this hobby. Can't wait to use this blaster at the next nerf event I get to go!

    Silverfox Industries builds such beautiful blasters. Top notch quality. Hands down, my Lark Talonclaw is my favorite blaster right now. I can't wait to get onto the field with it.

    Don't take this the wrong way, but one of the things that you do consistently is sell yourself short. You have done so much for this hobby, not to mention for us personally whether you realize it or not. You got Jess addicted to competitive foam flinging, and she gets fired up whenever we discuss it. You can also blame her for the idea for this blaster. This thing was born from a conversation we had after the tournament at last year's Ragnaroktoberfest. You had mentioned that even though your team had won the tournament, you never took a prize because you didn't feel right about it due to your involvement with the tournament itself. We all thought you deserved a prize, and something more than a trophy to sit idle on your shelf. This blaster was made with nothing but the strongest love from all of us. And despite what you may tell yourself, you do indeed deserve it. We are proud to call you our friend.

    • @Jangular
      @Jangular  Před 3 lety +1

      I'd much rather that than over hype myself, but thank you and Jess for making this happen. The fact that she gets hyped for competitive makes me happy, and makes me want to have more time on the field lol, I love hearing about it and am stoked for things growing in the PNW scene. The friends I have made in this hobby are some incredibly wonderful people, and I am thankful to have you and everyone else as those friends, the love is felt. As much as I will perpetually debate what I do/don't do etc. I can say the blaster certainly hasn't sat idle on the shelf haha

    As a fellow NERF consumer, you do deserve that blaster! You have brought enjoyment to so many nerfer's including my self that it is nice to see you get something back for all the time you invested into your channel. You were one of if not the first NerfTube channel I found, you showed me what NERFing could be and should be, and for that I am greatful.

    Doing a second anodizing run will require a dip in phosphoric acid until the current color fades out enough to not ruin the intended second application. It will take a small amount of material off the part in the process.

    • @Jangular
      @Jangular  Před 4 lety

      Good to know, assuming the amount of material removed isn't significant enough to cause problems with function it's something to consider.

    • @CaptainSlug
      @CaptainSlug Před 4 lety

      @@Jangular And something else to consider is that if you do short dips in phosphoric acid when the parts are already red, you might actually get close to the color you wanted without a second application of anodizing.

    Love the red in the blaster. Makes me think of the red parts as the heart/soul of it. By the way my gusher blaster was pair of nemesis rival blasters my friends gave me. Complete coincidence that they both got me a nemesis.

    just my opinion but i agree that the red in the center looks great, and feels like it represents something, fire for the game, passion for the hobby, something like that, plus it was a gift built by your friends, would be a bit of a faux pas to change it after so many people put so much work into it for you . some red enamel hobby paint in the dragon logo would really accent it nicely and tie it all together . but just my 2 cents! keep up the good vids man!

    • @Jangular

      I think I agree with that sentiment, I'm gonna have to think about adding red to the logo, thank you!

  • @GWR5538
    @GWR5538 Před 4 lety +2

    Did a bit of research and it looks like you can have parts re-anodize it does lose about 1/1000 of an inch because they have to strip off the old anodizing but that shouldn't be a problem for nerf applications.

    • @Jangular
      @Jangular  Před 4 lety +2

    Great video sir. I wouldn’t worry about being worthy of those gifts you get, that’s for the people that give the gifts to decide and I would say that it’s pretty obvious how worthy they feel you are. My favorite blaster that I have is still my Nerf Slingfire, it’s just so much fun and it’s not the best performance blaster by any means but like you said sometimes it’s just the joy that matters. Keep up the great work man I appreciate it and stay safe.

  • @DevilZcall
    @DevilZcall Před 3 lety

    Stripping annodizing involves some mildly violent chemicals but is possible and can probably be done by most annodizing shops. Getting a blank t&n would probably be the cleaner option though, especially since the new color is supposed to be lighter.

    You sell yourself short. People gift you things because it's a thank you for what you've done, you provided the hobby with well edited gameplay footage for years, started the best known weekly Nerf news series, pushed the idea of an international competitive league into existence. You may not be the only one to have done those things, but you're the guy who has pushed himself to improve the hobby through you past videos. You earned it.
    Also, how has your health been? I know that's the reason you stopped making videos multiple times, and just want to know you're doing well.

    Hi Jangular. You’d need an unfinished piece and have it anodised in your colour of choice. The only way to remove an anodised layer is by abrasive force and you don’t want to do that since the layer itself is harder than the aluminium. This is also why it offers protection in the first place. Hope this helps.

    Great video. I can really relate to the type of joy you have for the blaster. For me right now I have the same type of joy for my new fdl3 I finally got a few months back. And for me it means so much to have the blaster because I could not afford one for a long time and then they stopped sales of fdl3. The one blaster that means the most to me isn't in my collection...at least, not anymore. It's the Rebelle Sweet Revenge with the OMW O-TAC kit for the Hammershot, and the (sadly flawed) MetalCast Green paint. I put it together and gave it to my wife.
