  • The EasyThreed K7 is a small, less than $100 FDM printer. It's great for beginners and kids! I know practically nothing about printing with PLA, so this was a great learning opportunity! If you'd like to learn more, feel free to follow my affiliate link, which supports the channel:

The fact she said it's hers cracks me up. It reminds me of how I gave a Captain America table lamp to a friend when I was moving out of my apartment. Her nephew came to visit her a few days later and saw it, and immediately said "Thank you for my new lamp, auntie!" LOL

I think it good just for novelty prints like pen, sd card, usb and etc. type holders. everything else, I leave up to my my Ender printer. thanks for the review!👍👍

I have the Easythreed K9, FYI to anyone:
The K7 Print Speed is 10-40mm/s
The filament residue stuck in the magnetic sheet can be removed, I soaked it with some alcohol first, dried it and then applied Fasson Foil Tape on it, rubbed it down and then pulled it off and it pulled it out of the perforations.
You can prevent the filament from getting it it by applying blue painters tape on it, i gives good adhesion and a smooth bottom on the model, if extra adhesion is needed use hairspray or glue stick (These are used in other printers also) on it.
There are also other bed sheets that can be used if you want to change it.
The filament holder only holds a 250gram spool max.
Doing the calibration cube you dont use supports.
I use Cura and print directly to the K9 using the USB cable (it gives you some options).
You should re-tram (level) the bed after several prints.
Using a good filament does help with the prints.
That 3Dbenchy was okay, But you can get it a little better than that adjusting the settings. The hard part is the lettering detail on the bottom and across the bow.
Note Easythreed made these printers as cheaply as they could, But they didnt do a bad job and it works okay. Its a starting place if you dont want to sink a lot of money into it at first. Ive learned alot using the K9.

I remember the toys I had as a child and they were nowhere as cool as this! But then again I've lived through the computer-video-games-that-you-used-to load-via-casette-tape-player era so I guess that makes me pretty old 😅.

That sewing machine in the background dwarfs this printer

Bahahaha yep! If it's the one closest to the camera, that's the Janome HD9. If it's the one back by the closet, that's an industrial Juki DU-1181N.

what printer did you use from Cura? it doesn't have the easy Threed printers in there.

The EasyThreed K7 came with a micro SD card and USB adapter. The SD card has a machine profile on it.

Thank you for the demo, but besides gnomes, what can the K7 do for us sewists?

    • @fiercekittenz
      @fiercekittenz  Před 7 měsíci

There's a lot of different things you can do with it for sewing, though I probably won't use it for that (seeing as how Anne stole it from me already!). Zipper jigs, clip/pin cups, trays for notions, humper jumpers, thimbles, binding jigs, seam guides, etc. There's a LOT of sewing tools.

A lot of tools, and a whole bunchload of buttons...

Yes, windows needs a driver (cura should come with it, most printers use a ch340 usb interface) tho mac and linux don't. The three models you show don't need supports (the benchy in particular is a 'torture test' that most printers should be able to handle with a bit of tuning). Faster needs more heat, but the underside of the benchy says "not enough cooling" so..

Ahhh thank you!!! Yeah I'm so new to this. I tried not to lean much on my husband's experience so I could give a genuine beginner's perspective. At least some of my resin printing knowledge transferred!

CZcams auto-captions has named your benchy "benji" lol

OMG the captions are TERRIBLE. I try to provide my own, but they are still pretty bad and I don't catch all of it.

I've tried many different prints and it fails every time

How so? Is it not sticking to the bed? If that's the issue, you can rub some glue stick on it. That helps even out the surface for those first few layers.
