Croatia consists of players from Real Madrid, Juventus, Athletico Madrid, Barcelona, Inter Milan, AC Milan etc. Intimidated by reputation of players from Leicester, Tottenham and Everton?? Nah...

HelgeKS Croatia have good players for sure, but Inter Milan and AC Milan are not big European clubs any more. They don't come close to winning Serie A.
Anyway, Harry Maguire won't be at Leicester next season...no way! And maybe Pickford won't be at Everton....we'll see...
This Croatia team is at its peak time, while this England team is just beginning it's journey. It's all good...😁

Alchemy * take a look at croatian under 21 players and then tell me we don't have players for the future. As example:
      Letica FC Brügge
      Sosa VfB Stuttgart
      Caleta-Car Red Bull Salzburg
      Benkovic Dinamo Zagreb
      Majer Dinamo Zagreb
      Coric AS Roma
      Balic Udinese
      Rog Napoli
      Vlasic FC Everton
      Moro Dinamo Zagreb
      Brekalo VfL Wolfsburg
      Sego Hajduk Split
And then we have Kramaric, Rebic, Pjaca, Brozovic, Kovacic, Vrsaljko and Jedvaj who are 27 or younger

    • @aliasreza
      @aliasreza Před 6 lety +5

Alchemy * do me a favour and take a look on some of these players, especially lovro majer and filip benkovic. You would be surprised. Sure not all of them will succeed. But modric and rakitic will play at least 4 more years, so im really not scared. I guess our golden generation will come. Because in defense we have good players, but thats our biggest instability. Especially left back, even strinic played very well this tournament.
England will come in next time. You left the curse of penalties and bad goalkeepers behind you and are blessed with many talents

Jw Wu To be perfectly honest, neither did we. Only after Dalic took over did every player come in his right place and start connecting with each other. Also, not only is he fantastic tactician, he did a miracle in mental readiness department, something which was always lacking in Croatian team. They were always fantastic physically and technically, but due to lack of mental conditioning, they could have beaten world champions and lose against middle schoolers, any time. That all changed this yeat, and credits go to Dalic. His calmness and level headedness spread over to whole team. Did you see Argentina? Exactly opposite thing happened. Coach acts as cranky 10 year old, and so does most of the team.

Not at the moment they dont, but the last generation of english players was better than anything Croatia has ever produced, paul scholes used to school modric in the premier League and make him look like a pub team player, scholes could do what modric could and more and score 20 goals a season in his prime.
steven gerrard, lampard , david becham, they was all better than modric, dont get me wrong modrics a world class player, but england sometimes produce great players, they just cant use them in the right way, england play to direct and can be very predictable, when their up against a world class side, their really easy to work out, all they do is string 5 passes together then put the ball into the box over and over again , they dont probe and look for opening and work the ball.

I also agree with your comment about the premier league, but i would say the last 15 years i cant argue with you there,

They would still have lost the semi with the slow paced Harry Kane at the front. Perhaps the guy couldn't shoot with left foot. It's not about one person. England's midfield had been very solid butvthe chose to play long ball most of the time. With fast and physically strong Vida Kramaric, Rebic and Perisic who practically runing the entire pitch, they stood no chance. If Croatia had the skill and control of Suker in this match it could have been worse for England.
England's best team ever after 1966 was the Euro 96 lineup; fast, strong, charismatic, more physical and tactical approach and with full passion i.e., Sheringham, Ince, Gascoigne, Scholes, Neville Bros., Shearer, Anderton etc., that team and the characters have been irreplaceable until today.

This Croatian team is at it's peak, while the England team is very young and just beginning it's journey. English football is progressing; there has been big investment in the infrastructure, and we are current world champions at under 17, 18 and 20 age groups. Just think about that for a while....it hasn't happened before! There is a clear strategy in place, and it appears to be having an affect already.

Serbia had u21 world champions. They also had a generation before that one, who have beaten modric, kranjcar, mandzukic, da silva and most of our todays players 2 times easily.
But where are they now? Does anyone remember their name?
Croatia has great young players who will come on eventually for senior squad. But being great at young age means (mostly) nothing. Somehow a lot of young players simply don't make it, or at the very best, don't fulfill their potential.
But with all that said, I wish you all the best :)

Marin K. I agree that only a certain percentage goes on to be top level players, and many will end up in the lower leagues.
I'll also add that England U21's have won the last 3 Toulon tournaments, which we've never achieved before, so the point I'm making is that so far there seems to be a new-found level of success and consistency. This hasn't happened before! Coincidence? Or results of long term investment and planning? Only time will tell I guess...👍🤔

In that scenario, England was supposed to face France at the finals so England was definitely the favorite to beat Croatia. This is why the organizer wanted to take steps to ensure England reach the finals by rigging the match towards England.

First of all Kane was offside even if he did score which he obviously didn’t... and it was saved by Subasic for your information...It wouldn’t have counted Sherlock... Perisic hit the post right after Croatia scored for 1-1... if that goes in game is not going to extra time... let’s not mention England really only good chance of the game came from a free kick on the edge of the box... other than that they had absolutely NOOO chances to score.. obviously I’m not counting Kanes “miss” since he was offside and they called it offside... and he was offside which even if they didn’t call V.A.R would have called back
