ജെറി സർ പാശ്ചാത്യ സംഗീതത്തെ കുറിച്ച് പറഞ്ഞ കാര്യങ്ങൾ 100 % സത്യമാണ്. ഇന്ന് aria ചാർട്ടിലും മറ്റും ലോകത്തു നമ്പർ വൺ എന്ന് പറയുന്ന മിക്ക പാട്ടുകളും കേട്ടാൽ ഇത് മനസ്സിലാവും. യാതൊരു അർത്ഥവും ജീവനും ഒന്നുമില്ലാതെ കുറെ കോലാഹലം. എന്നിട്ടു ആ പാട്ടുകാർക്കു ലോകോത്തര ബഹുമതികളും ! എന്തൊരു വിരോധാഭാസം നിറഞ്ഞ ലോകം ! ഇവിടെയാണ് ഭാരതീയ സംഗീതത്തിന്റെ മഹത്വവും മികവും അറിയേണ്ടത്. ഈ ലോകത്തുള്ള ഏതൊരു സംഗീത ശൈലി എടുത്താലും ഒന്നാമൻ നമ്മുടെ നാടിൻറെ , ഭാരതത്തിന്റെ, മികച്ച ശൈലികൾ തന്നെ ആണ്. സംശയമില്ല.

ഈ ലെജൻഡിനെ മലയാള സിനിമ ഉപയോഗിച്ചിട്ടില്ല. എന്ന് വേണമെങ്കിൽ പറയാം . ഇന്ന് തബലയും ഡ്രംസ് ഒരുമിച്ച് വായിച്ചാൽ ക്ലാഷ് ഉണ്ടാകുന്നത് പോലെയാണ് ശബദമലിനീകരണം അതാണ് . ഈ ലെജൻഡിനെ ഇവിടെ കൊണ്ടുവന്നതിന് തന്നെ വലിയ അഭിനന്ദനം അറിയിക്കുന്നു.

The problem is film music being the vanguard of musical senses. Commercial considerations driving creative direction always result in stale and repetitive output. Unless there is a viable alternative or if filmmakers have a strong viewpoint to make a distinctive impression based on freshness and creativity there will only be a downfall in musical senses. Talking of orchestration, if you look at music as a sound engineer, they can understand and recognise a good learned composer from an average one by the way the vocals be instrumentation is split and layered over the entire sonic range without crushing any particular instrument or voice in their own frequency space. Before the digital era, Salil Chaudhary and his assistants Ilayaraja shyam and others like jerry sir etc used to take extra care in using instrumentation and voices in their own spaces to bring that pristine quality even with lesser number of available tracks. Today with endless number of tracks and layering, music and vocals have enmeshed into a concrete wall of sound tha lost the essence and purpose of the song in the first place. This man is a treasure we have taken for granted and not given his rightful due.

യേശുദാസ് റാഫി പാടുന്നതു പോലെയാണല്ലോ പാടുന്നത്. ശബ്ദം പോലും പലപ്പോഴും സാമ്യമകലാത്തതായി കാണാം. യേശുദാസിനു സ്വന്തമായി,അന്യർ പറഞ്ഞുകൊടുത്തതോ, സ്വന്തം ചിട്ടപ്പെടുത്തിയതോ അല്ലാത്ത പാട്ടുപാടാനുള്ള കഴിവുണ്ടായിരുന്നെങ്കിൽ അദ്ദേഹം മറ്റു ഗായകർ പാടിയ പാട്ടുകളും പാടിയേനെ.
