The scary thing is that the guys were found not guilty and still there is a 'toxic' air about them as you say. I think the whole incident was blown out of proportion as it took place in Ireland, since there hasn't really been a high profile case in Irish sport before that I can think of involving a rape accusation? ie. I think the media and public fallout has been greatly heightened as a result. There was a similar incident that took place in New Zealand while the English rugby team were on tour there a few years back involving Mike Brown, Topsy Ojo and David Strettle, and I'd put money on it that hardly any of you are even aware of it, since they have been playing rugby week in week out for club/country ever since. Ironically if you read the reports there seems to be overwhelming evidence that the NZ girl in question was the victim of rape, and yet it's been swept under the carpet.
So, whilst I'm not exactly defending the Ulster players' immature messages about it the next day, it was quite clear from reading them that the guys obviously believed they had been involved in nothing more than group sex. Also I would argue that these group sexual incidents are widespread within male sporting teams, and so too are these type of whatsapp conversations. These journalists/people scrutinising the messages...I dare say you would have a major problem showing the public your own private whatsapp conversations. I have also noticed a huge elephant in the room throughout the long trial that Jackson and co. went through....Don't you find it strange that next to NO other rugby players are coming out and publicly condemning Jackson and Olding's behaviour? I wonder if this has anything to do with the fact that most of them are probably at this sort of (group sex) thing regularly themselves and maybe don't want their own skeletons to come out of the closet?

      Declan McDonnell
there is a sinister underlying element to this that is not widely known in the public forum. the parents of the accused are well connected in legal circles as well as media and that has heavily influenced / slanted the media coverage on this. also what is important to note is the legal parameters governing such cases are different in the North of Ireland to that of the South but at you correctly pointed out private messages and thoughts / opinions of others should not have even been discussed if you are going down that rabbit hole lets have an open field and enter in to evidence EVERYONES private messages.. oh and while were at it hook up the brain wave machines to monitor, record and play back their thoughts... YOU SEE HOW SILLY THIS CAN BECOME AND FAST??!!

Its tru they had a 3 some as seen in there wats app, and I wonder why the girl googled a week before about rape. There only young prob like any other guy in there 20ies bragging about there night. Or any other girl talking about a night before. It wasn't rape. There private message,s should of not have been made public now there been judged. Hope they will be back to work a do what there good at,

What was wrong with what Paddy Jackson and Stuart Olding did? Specifically?

Nothing beyond a bunch of daft and idiotic WhatsApp msgs the next morning after the incident with that liar. If those msgs were part of a continued pattern of bad behaviour rather than a one-off then I could see why they would struggle to find employment. The lads were beyond hungover and probably thought they were msging about the proven consensual sex they had the night before with that girl. There was no proof that they even knew that the girl had gone crying and bleeding from the house because Rory Harrison only contacted McIlroy directly the next morning. He didn't contact PJ or SO the next morning individually, only thro the group chat. Who is to say that she wasn't just crying in the car with Harrison at been caught engaging in group-sex. This case goes to prove that the liberal/feminazi agenda is just as vile, disgusting and psychotic as the old church-led approach!! They are attempting to bully these two fellas so they can't get a job in rugby even though they were rightfully found innocent. The proof was never there to win that case, anyone with a brain could see that after 2 weeks of the trial. That girl wouldn't even win a civil case, her story had more holes in it than a sieve. For the record PJ sent one dodgy text the next day, that girl sent several horrible one's to her friends referencing a non-existent rape. Why don't the media focus on the complete inconsistencies in that girl's testimony and find fault with her!?! The misandry in the liberal media is beyond appalling at this stage.

Rape. Incest. Inoperable life. Tell me how in any progressive society that you should be "made" carry to term a pregnancy in these cases? The right to choice and the self determination of women to choose completely what happens to THEIR bodies is only just and right. Tell me what gives you the divine right to dictate what others should / shouldn't be doing to their bodies?
