    Im thinking abput gutting the keg on my magnum. But if i can port a $125 air gap knock off, ill probably just do that.
    Thanks for the content

    I have a cheap dual plane for my sbf. Had a Eddie torque 2 . My butt dyno says the Chinese one makes more power but idk for a fact 🤷‍♂️ but the cheap intake does the job nicely for a daily driver. I did use a router and cut the divider a little on the Chinese intake more to match the Eddie.

      @bigdogsportingtonyb2833  Před rokem

      The torker 2 is a low rise single plane manifold vs the Chinese dual plane manifold. You are feeling the lower to midrange torque advantage of the dual plane and if the combo is mild or your rpm band is lower than 6200rpm then the dual plane is not giving up any real hp up top either.
      The only time you gain anything by cutting the divider down some is if the combo can use it. On lower rpm street cars it takes away some of the power from 4500rpm on down

    The flow comparison is the left side of the Edelbrock
    vs
    the right side of the Chinafold.
    Of course you will be increasing and BALANCING runner flow.👍👍

      Yes in stock form left and right sides are usually about the same. The guys did do Complete flow testing on all 8 runners on each manifold for a overall average. We have ported and sold many of these Ebay manifolds and they make some great power

    I'm now skeptical on the "USA" emblem on these manifolds. I ordered an Edelbrock 390 FE intake in March of 2020 and 10 months later it arrived. After waiting 3 months I called up Summit to find out why I kept getting my order delayed and the lady in almost a whisper said, they are having delays and their off shore (yes she said OFF SHORE) products. My intake has a big USA emblem on it. So are the Ebay intake just the off shore Edelbrock factory casting a few extra after 5pm or on the weekends?

      When we try to tell people the truth they tend not want to listen. These manufacturers are struggling to produce parts that are cast, Forged, machined or of any type of metal so they are subcontracting and scrounging from any source they can get. Example the AFR Enforcer heads are cast overseas like many other heads and intake manifolds that say made in America.
      Now heres the thing. Overseas manufacturers have the capability to make a top quality part with no issues but the thing is the companies that they manufacture from demand lower costs so they can stamp their name on It and upcharge. Low cost in manufacturing usually mean lower quality.

    I wonder if the knock off would do fine for a dead stock 302 if you want to just put a 4 barrel instead of the factory 2 barrel carburetor "for fuel economy I'm thinking of running a quadrajet and only run it on the primary's"

      Those Ebay manifolds are all over the place from casting to casting. This is why we like to check them then port them

    Unless further up in the top of the ebay runners are more restricted then the eddie, I reckon they will flow almost the same.

      They are close is stock for and the Eddy flowed better. Once we port the Ebay it's going to really pick up. We've ported many of them

    So in stock form, what would you guess the horsepower difference would be between the two?

    • @bigdogsportingtonyb2833
      @bigdogsportingtonyb2833  Před 5 měsíci +2

      The answer would depend on the motor size, and combo. But to be honest We wouldn't run neither in stock form especially if you have better than factory heads and cam. Once you feel the power of ported parts you will never go back lol

    Flow nubers are cool. How about accuracy of the machined suraces? Flatness across the gasket face? Angles of machine work compared to stock? These tend to be the real issues ive experienced with these edelwok intakes. That and crap threads on water ports and stud bosses. Almost no pipe thread taper on the water ports.

    • @bigdogsportingtonyb2833
      @bigdogsportingtonyb2833  Před 6 měsíci +1

      All good points. When we run parts through our porting process we do more than just port. We do a general cleaning, inspect the part, sandblasting, chase all the threads, make minor repairs, check and surface the gasket mating areas, perform before and after flow testing and refinish. When customers get their parts back they are ready to install and always make more power than expected. We have ported over 5,000 parts and over that time we've come across some pretty bad parts.👍

      That's priority No. 1, fitment. Flow means little when you're fixing persistent vacuum, coolant and oil leaks.

    • @bigdogsportingtonyb2833
      @bigdogsportingtonyb2833  Před 2 měsíci

      We sell many of them and we see both Edelbrock and overseas products. We don't see many issues with either and if we do we fix them. Times have changed and overseas products are here to stay. No way around them. The majority of US companies source their parts from overseas. Edelbrock, AFR, TFS, comp, Holley all have some products that were cast from overseas. Your GM, Ford and Dodge all have many parts that came from overseas companies. Your cell phones come from overseas companies. Where a part comes from shouldn't be the focus, it's how the part performs.

    • @bigdogsportingtonyb2833
      @bigdogsportingtonyb2833  Před 2 měsíci +1

      None of those are any issues. The parts work fine.

      @@bigdogsportingtonyb2833 I am certain that you go through your products well. You seem to have a good reputation. It's the small guy that often doesn't catch issues and just plops a part on just to find he has a problem. You are 100% correct. Import parts are here to stay. Hopefully companies like Speedpro stop the counterfeit parts.
