I love the way Zulfikar stands over Ahmed dead body and looks at him and calls his name, then perceive to give him that ultimate respect. He looks so sincere and grieved. Seems to have loved him very much as a Sultan. BRAVO!
There's one thing I have a problem with in this episode. The lack of Sorrow for Ahmed is weird. I expected much more sadness from someone who loved him. Poor Ahmed, he was surrounded by people who hated him

I think Kosem was following what Ahamed requested on his death bed. She was not mourning for him publically and this is the palace. Weakness means the end of someone. So🤷♀️

Humasah was 100% right - Iskender was victim of Safiye's ambitions. She and Halime are the same. Mustafa also is only way to power for his mother
No iskander was victim of Ahmed and kosems greed for power and also his brother in law's jealousy as well as Ahmed's when he saw that iskander kept a drawing of Kosem, and then poor Iskander was also a victim of his brother in law's jealousy ( who eventually strangled him). No islanders mother was only ever needing power to protect her son from the sadistic sultans and their Favourites,. This ottoman regime put the whole harem against each other, the poor mother's all fought for power just to keep their own sons alive. How horrific and barbaric. I hate iskenders brother in law for dobbing him in to the sultan and Kosem, out of sheer jealousy, especially when he should of protected him since he claimed to have reared Iskender and was a dad to him. He didn't have a problem strangling iskander for the sultan did he?!? No normal parent would be able to do that, shows he was just too jealous of him.

What kind of sense does it even make? Even without fratricide, succession always goes from father to son (or daughter, as it may). Never to siblings, unless there are no lawful heirs in direct line.
She wanted to prove he wasn’t fit for throne because he was mentally unstable so everyone see’s it.
The point was to avoid fratricide between Osman and Mehmed by setting an example of inheritance

I enjoyed so much seeing him together with Kosem, that sweet love. ❣️😭 Hope there Will be at least more scenes of heavenly Contact. This Producer is really fine in representing the " world beyond"
I wish they continued the MC series showing the reign of consecutive Sultans and Sultanas. I mean not all but the most powerful and politically significant ones. The MC series continues the story supposedly 24 years after the death of Suleiman the Magnificent. They could have covered the story linking the period in-between Suleiman and Ahmet in at least one episode. 😀 C'mon it'd be nice to see a young Safiye Vs Valide Nurbanu, a young Handan and Halime Vs Valide Safiye (long before Kosem comes into the scene)...etc.

I guess nirvanu and safiye wasn't that powerful enough I mean kosem was really a big figure and most powerful sultana after hurrem and kosem has relevance compared to safiye or nurbanu, sometimes historians will milking to the most significant figure

She died before Suleiman because he ordered Hurrem secret execution. Hurrem never died of any illness, but because she was the master mind behind Prince Mustafa execution. History here was distorted to portray their love for each other till the end. Like Ahmed and other Sultan Padisha, whoever harmed a member of the Ottoman Dynasty, and especially a Prince, no matter who that person may have been, he or she would have been executed for high Treason. Hurrem committed many high Treason acts, and Suleiman always covered them up, but being used to execute his most beloved Mustafa was something he could never forgive Hurrem for. Hurrem died in her sleep soon after Suleiman found out the real reason behind Mustafa death. You do your maths 😊
