My 8 years old Labrador has only younger friends, cause in his big cuddly heart he is still an 8 month old "puppy". He is so playful that he isn't really interested in dogs of his age cause most of them don't want to play... It broke my heart when Iris was getting shunned by the other dogs at the park! Then when Odie wanted to play with Iris - the clouds parted! They are so adorable together! I'm so happy for Iris that she has a bestie! ❤️
WOW!!! That is a BIG dog!!!! But bigger dogs are kinder and more gentle than smaller ones (from my experience having both). So adorable.
The world is scary to small dogs so that may be why. But more people are scared of big dogs, even if they’re gentle giants (:

@@jody024 I think you’re right. I think Iris was a bit nervous socially especially at the dog park when she wasn’t on her home turf. Odie came to her one-on-one in Iris’s yard first where she was comfy.

I was almost in tears seeing Iris at the dog park beeing ignored by the other doggos. I could relate, as it was like being the new kid at school and no one wanting to hang out with me, at first.

I lived with an Irish wolfhound . He loved to play and boy could he zoom when you gave him the chance .

@@BlackCoffeeee take care in deciding. To keep them healthy they must run and I mean 6mi a day and worse is that they believe that they are " lap dogs " so maybe an American gentleman ( boston terrier ) might tickle your fancy , pure entertainment and very intelligent.

Absolutely breaks my heart when I see Danes or other large dogs that just want to play, but all the dogs are scared of their size. I try to give them extra love so my dog knows to not be scared of them. Glad she has Odie!
