    This woman is an angel Our cats & dogs our worth our time & effort There are no lost causes To me, anyone who abuses pets is scum They are right up there with thieves, murderers, rapists & the worst of criminals. Also, cats & dogs aren’t phone You don’t just give up at the first sign of trouble & return or exchange them.
    This girl is amazing She won the trust & love of an obviously abused dog It just took time & patience She will be rewarded with a lifetime of unconditional loyalty & love Our cats & dogs are one of this life’s greatest gifts They give us so much joy but also meaning & purpose. We might save them but they can save use every day. What’s better than a fuzzy face, wet nose & wagging tail at the end of a hard day or early in the morning? So save a life & adopt!

    We will never give up on him, he now comes outside to get his lead on, still scared but his love of walking beats his fear of the doorway. He loves a cup of decaf tea, salmon treats and a digestive biscuit amongst others.

      For sure. I have a dog from the humane society in bc Canada and all I knew was “ he had a poor start in life” …… he too was afraid of everything……esp me. Af 230am he had a accident in my bed as we were sleeping there. I got up put him outside and cleaned up the bed and myself as he got it on me also. Went to get him into the house and he didn’t want to come in. Got him in finally and he ran under my bed. Same thing I got a pillow and blanket and got under the bed with him and we were there for at least two hours, I petted him talked to him told him it was a accident and things can only go up from tonight. Finally I said r u ready to sleep now in a cozy bed? He got out and ran to the corner of the room, shaking ++++++ ……I got into bed and said come on hun you r welcomed back in my bed…… I know you can do it, You never seen such a great reaction. He jumped up tail wagging licking my face and almost smiling. Haaaaaaaaaaaa Then soon after we went to sleep. No more accidents after that……… he knows when something scares him now he comes to me gets on my lap and I pet him. He is a great dog and I love him

      @Mr. Shlock Science backs that up. 24-7 . Org it's sad because I've seen a loving pitbull cross nearly kill one of my 3 dogs who she knew well. I saw her also attack a puppy. A different pitbull cross attacked my other dog that a dog trainer was using to socialize dogs.
      The trait is dominant across all of the large jawed dogs. Of course some are wonderful. To their owners.
      "Reality is that pit bulls, less than 5% of the U.S. and Canadian dog population now and under 1% until the past three decades, have since 1982 accounted for more than 60% of the dog attack fatalities and 75% of the dog attack disfigurements.
      More than a third of the fatal attacks have been found to involve victims from the pit bull’s own household, and have been inflicted by pit bulls who have never been neglected or abused."

    • @feraflauna3238
      @feraflauna3238 Před 3 lety +4

      I'm by far not trying to scare you have, just being honest. Taking in a dog that is that badly broken and beaten down and helping them heal takes a lot of work and love to do. I feel that's why most people don't take poor dogs like these in: they don't want to bother putting in the work. Too many people want a baby puppy that will be easy to handle and train and they get frustrated when naturally, not all dogs are like that. It's dogs like these that need an extra special amount of care and they often don't get it because people don't want to put in the work to help these dogs heal and trust again.
      People should just know going in that it's not always going to be easy. Not every dog will warm up right away and that's okay. You have to take it at the dog's pace and take it one step at a time. Taking them out of the shelter is the first great step to recovery: a dog that is that badly shut down doesn't do well in a shelter environment-there's way too much noise, which only frightens them further, they hear dogs crying all the time, and the shelters are either understaffed and/or overworked to where they can't give all the dogs the attention and love they need.
      So just because a dog is scared during your first meeting doesn't mean the dog will be scared forever. They just need a little extra TLC. And the bond you will have with that dog will be tremendous and incredible.

      @kyrae961 Před 3 lety +2

      @@feraflauna3238 true and it's a big misunderstanding that most people think puppies are easier/easiest. No, especially puppies can be very hard to train if you don't start young and be consequent or have time.
      But I really would advice to go to your local shelters, cause I think for every person is a dog in a shelter that matches your lifestyle and personalities. And those poor souls deserve to live a happy live

In a one bedroom apartment I too laid on the floor of their choice most of the time. That for me was the most gratifying feeling of looking into their eyes and gently having them know that trust is true here. Letting them go was torture . I fell in love repeatedly during this process. That being said seeing each one to their forever home mended my heart and ready for my next guest. My reward ,seeing each flourish and living their best life. There’s just nothing greater for me.

On the first night I felt sorry for the little dude and had him sleep on my shoulder all night. It was an instant bond and after two weeks I had to leave. It's been four years and I go to visit them every couple of weeks and the dog insist on getting me away from grandchildren, nudging them away from me, and sitting on my lap with his head on my shoulder. He still thinks he's the little ten pound puppy even though he's around 85lbs lol

    That shot @1:18 is heartbreaking. I could never justify to myself getting a dog that wasn't a rescue. Every dog my family has ever gotten that's been a rescue has been wonderful and they are so grateful to be Home! We humans don't t deserve the love dogs give us so often.

    We got our dog at eight weeks, a little puppy. She is the light of our lives. It's trust and love on both sides. Ten months later, she is still a very happy member of our family and so are we.

    Patience, especially during decompression for a shelter dog can take time, but is so important. Most of the time, you don’t know what kind of trauma these wonderful dogs have experienced. They need patience & love to bring out the sweet personality inside. Thank you for all you do for these deserving pups! 🐾❤️🐾 Keep spreading love & kindness.

    That’s what I did for my little cat Burroughs, who I rescued from behind a dumpster. Until the vet could make sure she was healthy, she had to be quarantined in the bathroom away from my other cats … but so she wouldn’t be too scared, I dragged my bedding in there, spent all day with her, then slept on the floor beside her. She was still a very tiny kitten, so she acclimated quickly: by morning she was purring on my chest. 🤗❤️🐈 Be kind to other species, make friends for life!!
