    Duuuuuude, there are so many amazing improvements here!! Dorico once again absolutely knocking it out of the park and leaving all other competitors in the dust!! I will never look back.

      I've been using MuseScore since Avid bought Sybilious. However, with the rollout of MS 4 the work flow sucks and the bugs are many. So I went looking. This stuff is awesome. One thing: Do I buy Cubase or Ableton next?

    This is an amazing update. It's incredible how many ways the Dorico team is moving this product forward. Lots of new stuff on every front.

    As somebody who often writes build sections with lots of repeats, THANK YOU for the ability to limit playback to certain repeats. Now my midi will be performance accurate for those sections!

    I am so happy with these new amazing improvements, the sound is amazing, it is simply the best!!!!

      With enough effort, any sound can be achieved within any modern DAW or Notation app. Therefore it’s not about the sound at all. Its about how simple and effortless it is to _get_ that sound. And that notation, to be complete.

    This update is getting more and more exciting the more I learn about it! The midi trigger regions mean I could use my sonokinetic libraries with Dorico as well, the possibilities are growing! I will wait until next month to upgrade just so any last minute bugs can be ironed out, but I'm looking forward to using it soon!

  • @ArturoAlbero
    @ArturoAlbero Před rokem +7

    Great. Creating our own instruments was something needed. I only miss the possibility of adding audio tracks to our arrangements in order to add some sound design features to our scores. Other thing I miss is the sync with a DAW, in order to work flawlessly between the both. However, the latter I think it's a very difficult feature to implement well, and one that is in the top list of dreamt features.
    Now I'm using Dorico 4 but I'll upgrade soon. Of course, if you would have added an introductory sale for the early adopters, I'd buy it right away. You should consider this for future releases, only for upgrades, it would be a nice touch (though Steinberg doesn't usually do things like that...)

    Its really Dórico 4.5… Closer to a DAW, but farther away from notational progress.

  • @JeromeFe
    @JeromeFe Před rokem +2

    Great update. Cool features. I really wish that they will add option in note by note input when I press two notes on my midi then leaving one key and pressing a new key, the hold note will expand its duration value and will trigger automatic new voice. That will save me huge time while composing and keeping my creativity flow instead of switching back and forth between two voices and so many rhythmic changes per each voice.
    Exactly as it is already doing in real time input mode, but hey, I’m not composing in real time. Need time to hold the notes and think where I want to go next. Thanks

    • @dorico
      @dorico  Před rokem +1

      You can at least select one or more notes afterwards and use Shift-V to put them in a new voice (or just V if you've already created the extra voice).

    • @JeromeFe
      @JeromeFe Před rokem +2

      @@dorico thanks. I’ve meant that the duration could be smarter. For keys I still keep pressed (like high melody in 5th finger) while playing new keys (different finger counter melody) please extend the duration of the held high melody note.
      If I write 8th notes the held note could be automatically expanded to (1/4) and each new key pressed, again held note should become (3/8) and again (2/4) etc…

  • @blackorangegraphite

    Those features are not worth the update money. There is no 4.5 free update this time. Why?

    Looks cool but doesn't really seem like a big enough update to warrant the upgrade price. Also many desired features still absent. I hope there are many more features still waiting to be announced. Otherwise this is really more of a 4.5

    Did you see the highlight and Add dynamics on all those diff. staves ?!! Amazing. Great example Anthony. Updated today to V5 ! Yet, another learning curve, though not too bad. Can I configure my DrumKat to play the Groove Agent ? Know I can for Logic; does take more setup and Channels in the DrumKat 3.5 window too.

    • @dorico
      @dorico  Před 2 měsíci

      You probably can use your DrumKat with Dorico or GrooveAgent, especially if the DrumKat pads are sending 'standard kit' MIDI notes already.

    Watch out opening an existing score to video in Dorico 5 messed up the timing of the video. Still works as it should in Dorico 4.

    When you use your Sound Stage and you export that as an audio file and then import it into your DAW does it sound the same? Thank you for your reply. In this video are we saying when you put a cress... it will play it eliminating the need for the expression maps? All the videos are really old that discuss expression maps.

      Yes, you will pay a higher price than somebody who has Dorico 4, but still a very keen price, considering you'll also be receiving all of the many, many features added over the Dorico 4 cycle as well.

    THE ANTI-JAZZ Scoring app. I wonder what the developers have against SWING. Sibelius gives you multiple groove feels, there is NO support for jazz grooves here.

    • @dorico
      @dorico  Před rokem

      Actually there are a number of swing feels built-in including those that vary depending on tempo and you can create your own swing ratios too in Library > Playback Options > Timing

    midi note delay is the winner here, if i am interpreting that feature correctly 08:08. dorico is now a complete daw killer.
