- The new Element RC Enduro Sendero from Team Associated comes to the scale RC truck market swinging for the competition! My thanks to Element RC for including me in the early group of reviewers. This truck has a lot of strong engineering, know-how and great features to make it a one of a kind RTR. Watch the review to find out more!
Note, I improperly listed the servo specs. It is 180 oz/inches, making it the strongest rtr Crawler servo!

YOU'RE on the sticker sheet, too!! Props to you and Element for doing that!!!
Yep, that's the 3rd kit for me now!
That's the best sticker sheet I've ever seen come with an RC... Awesome to see something other than car and brand only.
Totally!
leebog31 it’s a Manitou Liu 3D printed body kit.
I just came across your channel, its excellent content! I love the DIY stuff, the reviews and the budget build-offs are great and you are hysterical! Keep up the great work!
I won mine at proline by the fire. Took it out saterday night Man this truck is awesome out of the box. Most of the guys in my crawler group have preordered one after seeing mine. Taking it out tomorrow so everyone can drive it.
WOAH! Nice prize!
Excellent review. I cannot get over how professional your vlogs are. You are indispensable to this market and genre of RC. I keep wanting more and more from you and your channel.
Thanks for all you do!
WOW! This is amazing, thanks very much. I do appreciate the kind words!
Loved you review on the new AE product. I really like this truck and seems like the guys did their homework to get this right. Cant wait to finish my builders kit of this and hit the trails. Firtst time i seem your videos. Now subscribed
Great review, and cool to see so much thought going into the truck. Another temptation... so yeah, thanks for that...
Happy to help, Ha!
By far the most detailed complete and comprehensive review of this vehicle that I have seen!
You're very kind!
Thanks for all the reviews!!
My pleasure!
I’m fine with an unlicensed body, as long as it “resembles” a real vehicle of some sort, and not like a 2-liter soda bottle cut in half and painted. I see comments like, “looks like an SCX10...”, and I would say that that’s warranted in part because it has a c-channel ladder frame chassis, like an SCX10, and which real off-road vehicles have. I’m starting to wonder how much more innovation can be obtained before a platform becomes too complicated and impractical. Look how many have complained about the original TRX-4, with its remote lockable diffs(Summit tech) and opted for the Sport instead, with remarks like, ”too many extra parts that could break”. I think future innovation needs to come not so much in the electro-mechanical category, but in quality of build materials, such as stronger plastics, or more affordable, yet sufficiently strong metals. Just saying.
Very good points, and I very much appreciate you sharing. Innovation will definitely hit a final point (at least, until we realize there was something else they could do!).
Introducing more metal parts is tough because often they need to be processed on a CNC one at a time, so if its something being built in a large quantity it’s going to be a lot more expensive than a cast or molded part. Associated is trying here though. You can see the aluminum in the drive shaft which is likely an extrusion that is simply cut to length and possibly co-molded on the plastic part of the drive shaft or interfaces with a steel bit for the U-joint (I havent seen the part in person so its hard to tell). I also don’t see a lot of RC companies skimping on their plastic composite, BUT there is more they can do to create plastic parts that are structurally optimized through computer analysis and rigorous testing, which also comes with quite a high cost in terms of software, time, and expert labour. Where there is a will there is a way though. Those who want to lead the industry need to solve these problems with the correct ratio of compromises to deliver a product that out performs the competition. Incremental improvements will drive the industry forward.
Anyone ask me, why I stay at SCX10 mk1 after 9 years? Because all of this. I need heavy-duty chassis into all conditions. Minimum electronics gadgets and mechanical too.
Thank you for coming out to the Pro-line event. I'm the guy with the rusty BC8 Mammoth and the black and gold King Midas 6x6.
Good review.
Got to spend some time with one of the Element guys first thing in the morning on Saturday....he was out there at 6 in the morning. Probably spent a good 30 minutes talking to him and going over that rig. They definitely brought their A-game as usual. I have solid faith in the people that made the legendary RC10.
Glad that you got to speak to someone from Element, it's a very well thought out truck. I meant to spend some more time going over the BC8, I'm still seriously considering one.
A game was not brought with the cr12. So they don't always bring it. I/m glad they are trying again thou. I'd hate to see them go out like that. I've had an AE rig since 1982 and like traxxas I knew they could bring something better than axial to the game.
@@year1camaro Didn't say they brought their A-game with the CR12 it's a 1/12 rig after-all....not a bad rig but not in the same market either.
@@year1camaro CR12 was a rebadge of a Thunder Tiger product, AE had nothing to do with the design or execution. Element is the first in-house designed crawler.
Scale Builder's Guild
So they sold us out to jump on the crawler band wagon. Ya i learned that after i bought one. Thought it was an ae. Gave it to the neighbor kid. He likes it. He’s 8.
Have always had a soft spot for Associated. Glad to see them bring this to market, well done!
Very much, well done!
Great value! My Honcho RTR wishes it can with all the bells and whistles this rig does, lol.
M.I.D.W.I.D! Bro!
100%!
Great little review. Very clear about what the kit has and what to lookout for when buying first RTR kit for the hobby. Love your channel - heaps of simple easy to follow information. Looking at the newer release Enduro as a first kit.
Glad it was helpful! I would say my top 3 picks would be the Basecamp, TRX4 Sport, or Element Enduro. Thanks for watching!
Great review , hope to see more of this truck in action.
I'm planning on making a couple changes then right back out there!
Best reveiw yet On this rig Matt. Love it.....
Thanks very much Andrew!
It is a really interesting truck, that gearbox is great. Love to get one. Super review Matt.
It's pretty great to have OD at the trans in an RTR!
I think this is the best of the new bunch very well thought out. Cool vid sir. 👍🏻👍🏻🙃🙃
It's definitely up there!
Had to watch again now that I'm working on my builders kit. Ordered all the hard plastic pieces to strengthen the chassis and some VS4-10 Pro bumpers. This will be fun!
Enjoyed the review..... Again
Cheers!
I love mine. such a fun truck! lots of goodies inside it!
Sure does, really impressed with it's out of the box qualities!
Looks pretty nice. Good features.
Thanks!
great video! That truck looks pretty darn cool.
Thanks, it's pretty great!
Great review Matt! 👍🏻
Thanks very much Rob!
So happy it’s now rtr and it’s a good price.
Cool! Might have to pick one up soon!
Not a bad idea!
Love the license plate sticker sheet.! And overdrive.?! WOW.!
Good stuff to be had!
I am just glad to see a unique look... I think there is a market for T.A. to get into the Scale truck arena. Been a big fan of the buggies truggy and Sc10 .. Always thought they made quality products.. Thanks for the over view. Thumbs up.. :)
Thanks for watching!
This looks like a great truck for its price point. Definitely will be my first rc crawler out side of axial.
You won't be disappointed.
Great video my friend!!!👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks very much!
This truck looks amazing for the price. Glad they are going to offer inner fenders. Would have loved to see an offset pumpkin on the front axle.
Offset would have been nice, but pretty great otherwise.
Thanks for the video it's a nice rig I wish I still had my RC10 gold pan with a Reedy modified and Novak speed control 30 yrs ago
Right there with you!
Still got mine
Looks like a great rig I’ve got mine pre ordered looking to hit the trails as soon as it arrives
Enjoy it!
This looks like it can be a good contender. So many choices so far this year!
2019 - year of the tiny truck!
They definitely knocked the ball out of the park, a top contender in my opinion.
100%.
I’ve been anticipating a post fire video!! Bring it on!!!
It's up!
Scale Builder's Guild it was good meeting you. I was the guy standing smoking a cigarette with Charlie when you guys passed by with the U4usion rigs. Wish I knew your back was out then I was holding lmao.
Nice review Matt.
Thanks Bill!
This is going to be a great allrounder.
Agreed!
Looking forward to this truck coming out in the uk 😃
Shipping soon from what I've heard!
Yep yep, on the list!
Sweet!
Looks like a great truck
It is!
Great review , looks like a great truck. I see alot of local guys around me talking about this truck. I think the transmission will be a good selling point
Without a doubt. Performed very well.
Also as the happy owner and downright snob when it comes to Associated stuff (I own about 10 track cars all Associated) I’m super excited for this truck!! I’m new to crawling and think this might be the one for me!!
And an excellent place to start!
Like I needed more convincing that that truck is amazing... Informative overview! Can't wait to see it in person.
Ha! There's been many good reviews, which speaks volumes.
The real reviews will be in after the pre orders ship. All the guys that got one already I/ve never considered real reviews. Bias opinions?
Twisted Link Fabrications this is a real review. I’m shocked that you would think I’d compromise my integrity because I got a pre-release. If I don’t like something, I’m upfront and honest about it. This truck surprised me.
I'm shocked you defended yourself on this as I didn't make it personal. I just never trusted reviews before the release. I believe in real world testing is all I said and that I don't trust pre-ship reviewers. Case in point where you can see an obvious down fall of this particular rig and it wasn't mentioned. But really, you can blame RC Action for my opinion. lol. Another point is most of the pre release rigs reviewed don't have a scratch on em. There really just "first look" videos. I'm a fan of these first look videos thou, saves me a trip to the local hobby shops that I hate visiting. haha
Twisted Link Fabrications how else should I take it? For the record, before this truck even hit the market, Element tested it for a year. I spent three days in the high desert putting it through it’s paces with an entire group of other reviewers. It’s very robust, and well engineered. Nothing broken. I wouldn’t give it the SBG logo on the sticker sheet if I didn’t think it was a good truck. I can appreciate what you’re saying though, and hope you understand that I’m pretty thorough and try to be as educated as possible when it comes to these first looks.
Love your videos bro
Thank you!
Great Vid Matt , I'm very impressed with this truck 🤩🤩, this would have to be the freshest release in the crawler world for quite some time 🤘🤘🤘
P.s
I don't vent my wheels either 😅😶😁😎
Yep, it's pretty darn good!
Cool Matt:)
Thanks Marc!
That cardboard garage looks just like my old motorcycle garage space in brooklyn. I'll just need a couple thousand tenth scale 1.2 oz beers for saturday night....
cool rc truck 🏆
That it is!
Looks like Proline by the fire was a lot of fun! I’m very intrigued by this entry into the crawler market by Element RC. I hope they follow this up with a kit version.
I heard a rumor that might happen.
Bravo AE for doing your homework beadlocks+,clear windows+,winch servo mount+,spring options can't wait to test drive one. Defiantly upgrade to metal gear when going to brushless ,but I guess that's to keep the cost down. Hopefully Hot Racing won't waste any time making an additional over or under ringgear to bump that o/u ratio up. Other than that and some lower brass should be good to go that's kinda how it goes with AE and Losi products you don't need a 100 upgrades like a honda civic.
Why does everyone want to add weight? This truck performed brilliantly without any additional weight anywhere!
Barrage stock driveshafts are the best I’ve ever ran hands down. Been running mine in my rigs for a little over 3 years now.
Nice!
I want one but I’m going to hold out for the builders kit!!! Building it would make the Sendero experience that more enjoyable!
ImpossibleCrazy RC ... DITTO
Agreed, I like building. That said, box stock, this truck is very good for an RTR.
Looks like a great rig Josh oh I mean mat 😂😂👍
I can't wait to put my original Team Associated RC 10 gold pan buggy in a trailer behind this truck, wheels match the buggy. All the Team Associated stuff I have is tough handles great and can still get parts, even for my 34 year old Gold Pan. I really appreciate T.A. for stepping up the game, They actually care about the user having a good experience!!! . It looks like a lot of quality fun 👻🏁👻👍👻🏁🏁.
They sure do. And funny story, AE posted a couple photos doing exactly this!
@@scalebuildersguild dang I can't find the picture. Funny,
Battle ship gray to me and it looks like a Chevy love pick up from 80s and 70s.
I can see that now that you mention it!
when I was running go fast stuff, the only thing I got was associated stuff , I have a couple dozen rc10s ,and rc10gts and a few on road associated and when they announced the sendora I just had to pre order mine. the body looks a lot like the mid 70s power wagon, and yes ive had a dozen or so of them, all at the same time. but I set my sendora aside waiting for the ramcharger body to come out. I still have 3 full size ramchargers put away.
Element is pretty decent value! Sounds like a really cool collection!
I am very excited for this release, happy to see it does not have bandwagon axles (portals). And on top of that Vanquish releases a chassis kit, followed soon by SSD's chassis kit release. This is too much to handle.
My wallet is screaming!
That's a very nice addition to the scaler world !
Although the servo being the strongest of all RTRs, all Axial RTRs come with TSX45 servos which are 143 oz-in (4.8v) 151 oz-in (6v) so that's a phony claim there, but the transmission is a nice idea and who doesn't love steel Universals ! :D
I’ll have to double check my numbers, and after doing so, it’s 180 oz/inch. So yes, still the strongest.
Transplant from the basher world and just ordered one as my first crawler, thanks for the review it was very helpful! Did you see anything that you would upgrade right away or would you recommend just enjoying until something breaks? Thanks!
I got to see and hear about this first hand at Proline BTF and it really looks like a great rig. They've definitely come out swinging, once a kit is out (I hope) I'll be hard press to avoid buying it.
I've heard that might be a thing!
I noticed y'all had a hell of a time at prolone by the fire with this truck👍👍
We sure did. And we weren't nice to them!
@@scalebuildersguild I know right looks like a fun rig👍
A decent servo!!… In a RTR!!… does that mean I wont have to throw the servo away the same time I cut the cable ties that hold the truck in the box *haha* .
Looks like Element has put some thought into this, overdrive is a nice touch, I'm loving overdrive. And still rocking my RC10B3 😊
Ha, for sure. A very good bit of kit for an RTR!
Nice truck, Nice features. Quick question; If you have the truck nearby, can you measure the pin-to-pin distance on the axles? They look a Tiny bit more narrow then the Axials
Great looking RTR truck and well equipped. The plastic pivot balls is a dumb move, but that's my only complaint. I'll take metal pillow balls in place of the metal driveshaft center piece that isn't needed if the driveshaft is high quality. You know who should take note? Axial. They're slipping towards the rear or the pack rather quickly.
The tires and wheels look fantastic. Remember when Axial included plastic beadlock wheels way back when?
I'm sure we'll see something new from Axial soon. They're not sitting on their hands.
Looking forward to! 🖒.. love😄 mine! Had it a bit now!! Servo winch. With my old traxxas Ass. Esc. For my EnDuro SenDero. In the works now!!!! On stock radio! 3ch. NC back yard RC.AND MORE. 🏞😀
I must possess one!
YES!
You know you've made it big when you make the sticker sheet. :)
It's an honor for sure.
Scale Builder's Guild you’re a humble and really cool dude. You deserve it. Sorry I won’t get to meet you in person at AF2019. This is a new account for me, originally @sacsmity. :)
Thanks for your take on this, seems like a great truck. I see it as a club cab dodge. 😁.. seems like a good amount of truck at a good price. I'd like to do a flatbed on one... on a side note..You probably get this often, but I just uploaded a short video of my Nissan Frontier I built, wondering if you might suggest anything you might do to it. Thanks , and thanks for the video. 👍
I'll go check it out!
Great first look👍👍 Can't wait to get one of these. How did it perform at PBTF?
Spectacularly. I was very impressed with it's durability and ability on the trails.
Looks like a great truck. I hope you do a revisited review in the future
I most certainly will!
IM GETTING ONE!!!!!!
Nice!
Tamiya Landfreeder on steroids. I love it ! 😍 👍
HA! Totally!
@@scalebuildersguild 😄👍😄
You sir...... are an associated salesman. I want one!
Can't help it, it's a great truck!
SENDERO MEANS PATH OR TRAIL IN SPANISH. Probably refers to 4x4 trails or a path over rocks and through the gate markers.
Yep, sure does!
Yo man I see 2 versions for sale one with blue body and and the one you are reviewing.. grey body like 40 more
. What's the difference... just licensed wheels and tires? Thanks
Yeah that's awesome ready love the box, who won the monthly mayhem . Oh yeah always make sure your wheels nuts are tight
Mayhem video is out now!
I hope I have mine before KNK! :/ It was great to see you last weekend! You said you're doing KNK again, right? If so, those of us with Enduros should compete against each other in class 2. I was going to run No Vaseline, but now I think maybe I'll run that in 2.5.
Sadly Nick, I won't be at KNK - trying to avoid competitions this year. I hope you have a great time!
Looks fantastic. Almost every upgrade on my old scx10 comes stock on this. I would trade my old scx10 for this in a heart beat. I only wish the stock rims was steel or alloy. Fist generation Scx10 is really outdated now. I hate how the outside wheel steer more than the inside wheel on my scx10. It wants to flip the truck.
It's definitely a good truck!
This new Kit is loaded with new gimmicks and features but is not a proven platform yet especially in the durability department. Hope to see some torture test reviews of this new Element RC Enduro.
I spent many hours at Pro-Line By the Fire abusing it, not to mention the folks who built it and the countless hundreds of hours they spent battle testing it. Rest assured, it's a very durable truck.
What body is that 4runner? I need it
The x3 isn’t the tire compound. The tire is a licensed general grabber x3 mud terrain.
Did I say that it was? Oops!
Thinking about getting into RCs again (definitely no expert here!LOL) and am thinking of this or the Redcat Gen 8 Scout II. Not looking to mod a whole bunch but will do some basic upgrades at some point so prefer RTR, and want something that is overall more trail oriented as opposed to just crawling, and these two seem to fit that bill--which one would you recommend and why? If you feel there are other, better options, I'm all ears for those as well! Thanks, and great vids!!!
The Element is probably the better truck of the two, and will offer a lot of interesting upgrades down the road.
Please tell us who makes that 4Runner body in the background???
HEY! If you dont know then type in hemistorm and check out how awesome his work is!
Where is that 4runner body from behind you?
How does this truck drive compared to the Traxxas trx4 from a crawling performance point of view?
Truck looked nice at proline by the fire. Wish I could have tested it out.
Didn't they have a couple testers at the tent?
@@scalebuildersguild well im kinda a shy person so I did not ask. Guess I should have. I brought beers for you but never made the effort to give one to you. Lame I know. Im kinda quiet. Just was taking it all in.
@@RCPropaganda Not to worry man, I think I was alcohol-free most of the weekend because my back meds would've made me a drooling mess!
hi there!!! I'm a new subscriber. where'd you get that 4runner behind you?? looks awesome!!
Welcome! It's a Manitou Liu 3D printed kit body. You can find him on Facebook.
X3 is what General calls those tires. They are the General Grabber x3’s.
Where is that 4runner body from behind you???
Looks a really nice kit, AE know what they're doing. Shame the body isn't licensed I guess but it is tough looking. I imagine most of these will have an alternative scale hardbody attached within a few months. It'd be interesting to know what style body you'd pair with this if you were going to go that way? Any thoughts?
I don't know if I'd go hard body on this one, Metric though, that could be a thing!
Nice! Best thing about it? It ain't a traxass or redcat!
Ha!
the wench pulling and pushing feature is amazing for an rtr. (lol) that's what He said.
Sorry?
It look great! Quick question....and I know that it might sounds ridiculous, but, if you could just buy one, this or the vs4, which one would you get?
VS4, but it's not a truly fair comparison.
Thanks for the review. I see the wheels are 1.9’s, but what are the overall size of the tires? Can’t find the specs on their website.
Around 4.65" I believe.
Better value than the redcat g8?
🤙
Thanks!
Matt do the window frame stickers come installed, or is the body nekkid?
Everything installed Mike.
X3 is the model grabber tire, not the compond lol still nice!
Thanks!
How does this compare to a trx4 sport? Just picked up a sport and was wanting to get a second truck soon.
They’re comparable. The TRX is more built up, but Enduro has a OD transmission as stock.
