  • So by now, you’ve hopefully seen our unboxing of the recently released Element RC Enduro. If you haven’t, there is a card in the video to check it out. Do it! In that video, we give you some important highlights about the truck and now of course, it’s time to drive it! John takes the Enduro outside the Holmes Hobbies house to his on-site test course and gives the Enduro with Sendero body a true work-out. Along the way, John gives you his impressions of how the scale trail truck performs in box stock form. After testing is over, John wraps things up with his final thoughts. Is the Element RC Enduro truly deserved of all they hype going on all over the internet? After watching this video, you’ll know… oh you’ll know!

    Other reviewers should take a page from your book. Instead of sitting at their tables talking for 30 minutes about what they think the truck will do, talk as you present its capabilities. I'm just now returning to the hobby after 15 years and rock crawling is what's drawn me back. I purchased the Axial 10ii Blazer! It's arriving Monday, haven't even got it and ready to buy a 2nd crawler. Watched your other reviews as well. Wish you had more review and versus videos definitely the best reviews I've found. Was considering this Enduro but the Wraith looks so cool too! Thanks Mr. Holmes.

      Many thanks for the feedback! I'll see what I can do for more reviews of rigs. I don't keep them stock long, so getting multiples in stock form at the same time for review is tough to accomplish without buying more rigs or undoing work.

      @@HolmesHobbies Absolutely John, I understand. Would you consider doing a video on what upgrades you like, or dislike for the SCX10's? Do you have an opinion on using the Traxxas Big Bore shocks #2662 on the SCX10 ii? What brass parts, if any do you use?

    Love this rig, but did take off front pushed in rear. Looking at Wertymade bumpers I see them developing!
    1. I beefed/stiff’n up the chassis with extra links that I had,
    2 installed the Element Inner Fenders which helped with the body being more rigid,
    3. trimmed body along the sliders portion,
    4. pushed in sliders.
    5. Gorilla clear tape along thin weak points of body.
    6. Shoe Goo the body to the bed and reinstall the connection pieces. Hate droopy two piece bodies.
    Going to upgrade servo and servo horn. Maybe esc later. I think the ssd rotor/hubs can bolt in as well. Pretty much keep it there.

    John, Excellent review, I have been fretting over what my first real crawler would be. I have been torn between traxass scx10, axial and the redcat gen 8. I finally decided that this element RC truck has everything I want and even though it is more expensive than the gen 8 from redcat it is worth the added funds and truly is the best value. I will watch your other videos and in the future after I get my truck I will upgrade it with your recommended holmes hobby motor. Thanks so much! great video and real world crawling action! I am a big fan of using stock radios and esc's. Simply because you have already paid for them. I hope switching to one of your motors will improve the forward handling and fix the reverse sensitivity problem!

    Cut two vents on the tires and run them till you have modded the truck with everything else and that is the last thing in the way. I have only ran one of your motors. The crawl master pro 16t five slot. I am absolutely a fan of. Ran it in a stock wraith spawn esc with pbx pitbulls 2.2 tires and the start up is insaaaaaane. Wow the control is amazing stock esc gearing and radio no issues. Feels better than my castle slate motor with the micro x.

    This is my first crawler. Well it's my first RC car of any type since my RC10 back in the mid to late 80's (still have it by the way) Any suggestions on what I should put in it to bring it back to life? Sorry of topic a bit so back to my Sendero, I've only had about 3 batteries threw it. I think I will change out the ESC first and see how that goes. I will push in the rear bumper and rock sliders. Replace the front bumper with a scalerfab fullsize front bumper.

    I bought the sister truck. The Trailwalker. My local hobby shop was out of the Sensoro. The chassis is the same, electronics are the same. Body is different. Different front bumper. 1.55 tires. I bought an axial body post kit. Raised the body and put a set a Of Proline Hyrax 1.9 tires. Raised the front suspension a little bit to compensate for the full size battery 2c Lopo I’m running. I was surprised at how well it wheeled out of the box. I did buy a 3 cell shorty battery and will try that out. I may put a little thicker shock oil in the rear. I think the rear squats a little too fast. But the flex is I think better than the Axial scx10-2 Cherokee I had. I’m very impressed for an RtR. I normally do the builder kits.

    Have you found an overdrive set up for the ascender? The element been a great truck, super capable and easy to customize. Seems l I'll ke it all comes down to the transmission, everything else gets replaced and most rigs end up the same as far as ladder frame set ups go. Wheelbase is about all the variation there is. @nicholasbarber4193 Před 5 lety +2

    Lol. Everyone complains about the bumpers. Good thing they're easy to inverse, move more inboard, cut, or otherwise modify. Plus, any axial style or frame rail mounted bumper will bolt on and companies like Scalerfab are already on top of having performance-driven bumpers specifically for the Enduro. For an RTR servo, it beats all of the rest, but I"m like you, I don't run any RTR servos or electronics; I need at least 300 oz. in., preferably 400 oz. in. plus. Radios do get expensive, but man do they make a huge difference in performance if you know how to set them up. It was nerve-wracking, though, handing my brand new 7PX to Cadence at KNK to drive my Origin around for a bit. lol I may put a revolver in mine, as I haven't had the pleasure of running one in any of my rigs yet.

      The trailmaster is 3 slot and won't typically have the same smoothness of a 5 slot. Our Crawlmaster line is the 5 slot stuff. We will have a sealed can "sport" motor later this year.

    You should look at aussie rc's video, he mentions way more downfalls on this truck, that I totally agree with, they totally rushed this out, glad I bought my gen 8 now, and all it needed was a tire change, the rest was cosmetic👍

    • @johnrobholmes
      @johnrobholmes Před 5 lety +2

      I'm quite satisfied with the trucks handling and design, there was no rush job to the things that matter long term. Sure there is always something to improve, but for the money there isnt a better equipped rig on the market.

    • @HolmesHobbies
      @HolmesHobbies  Před 5 lety +2

      If it had jank geometry or an inherent design flaw I could agree. I would choose this rig over the gen8 because of the universal shaft design, the gen8 puts the edge of the cup too close to the cross pin and it is a source of frequent failure. Otherwise the gen8 is good, but that is a rather serious flaw that can't be fixed without a redesign to the chubs, inner shafts, and outer shafts. The Element has had some "ears" break off the universal, but it's a temper or billet problem and not design flaw. I have been looking through the Element kit and there doesn't seem to be anything of concern, engineering wise.

      There is no way in hell that I would take a Gen 8 over an Enduro unless it's strictly for casual trail running. In that case I would just get a Gen 7.

    I put a 640 27t holms motor in my 1.9wraith and was driving it in the house went to go over a pile of towels the wheels didnt spin made a wining sound and a bunch of smoke came from the motor needles to say the motor is toast

    • @johnrobholmes
      @johnrobholmes Před 5 lety

      Did the towels bind the wheels down? Sounds like it spun slipper until it smoked?
