I'm glad micro crawlers are making a comeback
Yeah, me too!
Make that 3 of us!
@@sugarpillkiller have you ever seen the orlandoo-hunter kits? very high quality, very cheap 1/35 trucks! (Jeep, f150, pajero, and D-110)
Lots of opportunity for fun!
For sure man i used to love micros i had a losi high roller and baja bug and a micro night crawler
huge hit for me, and my first axial purchase in several years. nice job axial! great review as well SBG, already have mine on pre order.
Well you 'handled'this review literally really well summed it all up beautifully!❤💚💛
I finally drove the Deadbolt at my local hobby shop and I just ordered the Jeep Wrangler version. It will be nice to enjoy this tiny crawler inside the comfort of my warm house this winter. I am sure that the living room and basement will provide a great indoor course.
Just ordered mine (backorder) ! Can’t wait. I’m so happy Axial came out with a 1/24!
Think it's new, so not technically a backorder. It'll be out soon!
I agree, the blazer would be AWESOME!
RIGHT?!
It's not how big it is but what you do with it, am I right😂😂😂
Cool looking truck look forward to seeing these around😊
HAHAHAHA
Honcho was my first rc and still one of my favourite trucks. I would love one in 1/24!
Samesies!
Hopefully they catch on. Looks like a lot of fun.😀
Totally.
awesome. Dig the comedy at the beginning of the vid. Totally want one of these trucks
They're pretty fun to modify, I'll be following up with a new video shortly!
That looks like a lot of fun for 100 bucks. And small enough you can easily take it with you wherever you go.
Definitely!
That’s pre-ordered already... and though I have a couple of the Losi 1/24th Trail Trekkers and Rally cars... which IMO should’ve never been discontinued. I’d love to see Axial themselves release some upgrade parts. Mainly bodies ie: a ‘69 Blazer like my blue 1/10 as well as the a UMG body my 2 favorite body’s . For the size and price point they’re a gateway for the good folks on Shapeways too crank out some trick scale parts. And the RC4WD aluminum beadlocks like they use to offer for the Trail Trekker and Crawler. The only thing I added were the aluminum TLR shocks set up for droop, Super Swamper tires and aluminum beadlocks too retain a LCG. Also added a better micro steering servo for the heavier wheel setup. Probably the 1 truck I am really interested in getting is if nothing else make a nice static display, that being the Kyosho 1/10th TT slated for release in June. I think they’re will be a surge in 2 or 4wd Trophy trucks, Desert/Baja in a 1/10th scale. Axial nailed the release date IMO for people who live in the south, southwest where it’s hot. And indoor table top course’s take up no real room. Thanks for posting boss.
I bet it won't be long before we see parts popping up from all the expected Shapeways folks.
Definitely going to pick one up before winter. Looking forward to trying out some model kit bodies on this chassis.
Stay tuned, I've got one on the way!
Cute as a button!
The tiny truck is cool too ☺
I see what you did there. ;)
Thank you for clearing up that this is not a ecx recycle!
Happy to!
What a cute one~!!!👍👍👍
Totally!
That is so cool I'm definitely getting one
Right on!
Looks really cool ....
It's a fun little guy!
Love it!!!! A 1/24 wraith would be awesome😁! The real wraith not the 1.9 wraith lol! Sweet vid though gotta have one!
1/24 wraith would be the coolest thing ever
Ha, that would be fun.
Can't wait to see what type of competition you and Josh come up with for these.
Hahaha
Nice! I have one on order. 👍
Right on!
That intro owned!
Can't wait to run this against our 1/24 Losi trail trecker. We have had epice indoor small scale crawler course for the long Winters. Our new place needs one know. There fun. Think you need to do all your video s in your new voice. It will match my son's big Deadbolt. New mini Dragbolt project, our 1/24 Losi truggy does 18/20 mph with ,8500kv brushless in it on 3s lipo.
Very cool. I'd like to have an indoor course one day, so I can actually drive these things.
Hahaha the intro was great! Love your humor Matt
Thank you sir!
Being 1/24th scale opens the door to pretty much any 1/24th scale plastic model kit body. Long as you can match the wheelbase.
And AMT makes a really nice '92 Toyota!
I absolutely have to have one
I Love it...
It's pretty fun.
Yeah... looks pretty cool 😆😎👍🏻
Yep!
Awesome video
Thanks Kurtis!
I just got one there so fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for the review!!! Just ordered one for my soon to be 7 yr old son. He's gonna lose his mind. Now i need to order my 1/10 to be able to run w/ him.
Revd Rotors Order one for yourself too. You’re gonna be jealous ;)
HA! What he said!
The blazer and unimog wood be sweet! & a hoped up kit version wood be nice...
🥃cheers🍻
Kit would fun!
I got mine today in red and I thought I would run it through a pack and put it away for the day........ Nope three charges later and I'm still going 😂😂 this thing is an absolute blast to drive I actually make it through my 10tj scale course in my yard easily I'm shocked how much fun this little thing is lol, I see reefs RC already has a servo for it too👍👍 oh and it so quite it doesn't scare my cats they let me crawl all over them lmao.
Haha nice! It’s a fun little truck!
The voice in the intro is hilarious 😂
I love that they used worm gears because ESCs in other small trucks have massively lacking drag brake and resolution. I'm liking their flip up bodies they're doing now. Too bad they didn't hide the front body posts as they did on the UMG.
I'm hoping to address that in an update!
I pre-ordered two! Can't wait! I'd love to see Traxxas come out with a 1/18 scale TRX-4 Sport =)
That would be awesome!
Now that would be cool!
Would be very cool
Still hasn’t happened
It would be sick to see a micro SCX10II micro Jeep XJ
Dude, you can use any body you want from 1/24 scale models!!!
Looks soo cute:) But fun they did it!
Awe review;) as always bud!
Should be a cute little performer on the right size course! I'd like to see a comp exclusively for these little guys.
@@scalebuildersguild
I agree completely,
It would be really fun to see :)Btw do you think there will be a lot of fun upgrades to it?
Awesome content as usual. Unfortunately all backordered or I'd be enjoying one right now. Same with the parts, backordered. Wanted to swap some fresh parts Into my barrage.
Technically, not out yet!
Nice to see that Axial created this little bad boy. It might be a pretty funny replacement for my 1/24 HBX "crawler" which becomes little wasted out in the past years. Small crawlers rock - more detailed "scaled" would be pretty nice!
I'd love to see a Hard Body factory option, much like Kyosho did with their Mini-Z line.
@@scalebuildersguild me too that would be pretty awesome
SBG!!!👍👍👍
Thanks for watching!
I will have one! Hey axial! Mini wraith
For sure!
My deadbolt is my favorite 🤘🍻🤘
Pre ordered red and green for the family
Hooray!
Just ordered myself a Red one as well as the SCX10 2 Blazer :)
Nice!
I think I may buy one of these
For $100 it’s hard not to!
Your voice at the beginning though lol😂😂
Definitely more capable than the barrage that's for sure. Don't get me wrong, I have 2, 1/12 barrage rigs and they are pretty awesome. But they could have done better with the mini version. Good on Axial for stepping up the mini game!
Thanks for the feedback!
Finally something to crawl with my PROLINE AMBUSH.
skirmich Love my 1/25 Ambush but I’m more excited for this truck!
@@sugarpillkiller Yeah for sure, This looks way more capable than the Ambush anyway but I havent used my Ambush for quite a long time due to lack of other mini-Crawlers in my group.
I still have my Ambush (hard body conversion) and I love it.
i'd like to see them put a 1/24 wraith cage and interior on it. keeping that chassis of course and just make the wraith cage hinge the same as the current deadbolt one is. honestly the option of all the axial bodies for it would be killer.
It'd be nice to see. I bet we'll see a couple more assuming it's a success.
Honcho 24 would be good. Oooo or a Bomber RR24
A bomber would look awesome in the mini version for sure.
@@Randomgaming86 the ecx roost is similar and it is already in 1/24
No solid axle, not a good crawler, not really comparable. Roost is still cool tho.
@@jtet9559 yeah, just similar in looks to the rr10 and size of the scx24. Diferent chassis, a go-fast style tub type.
Phoenix RC Crawler Definitely the Bomber!
Mine's on pre-order. Can't wait to get it. Love the little stuff, especially in the winter. When you want to crawl, it's time to crawl. I'm not interested in what mother nature wants to allow me to do. Hopefully being an Axial, the aftermarket will come up with some goodies. -"Angry" Dave
Do you know when they ship? I just heard about these now. Kinda curious.
I got shipping confirmation on mine yesterday. It's coming from IL, so it should be here Thursday. Can't wait to try it out.
-"Angry" Dave
It'll be interesting to see what folks do to these.
Now you need to do an SCX24 Buildup with $12 a week budget, as that'll be 1:24 of your normal $50 a week budget.
HAHAHAHA! Definitely changes coming!
The Losi Trail Trekker was very similar but Losi stopped supporting parts. Now mine is a paperweight 😐
Hopefully Axial will have long term parts support for this model👍🏻
Here's hoping! I presume that if it's a success, there'll be an active aftermarket and home-brew community.
Same here iv needed an esc for years on my trail trekker
Having the same problem with my tail trekker. It's a shame because it's such a good platform
You predicted the future! "Dioramas,so to crawl around in their basements".
I love it, but don't want to spend $110 for axial brand name. It looks to be a great rig, but I already have the barrage. I think ou should look into orlandoo-hunter models. They are kits, but a blast to assemble. They are 1/35 scale, but extremely capable. They are on both banggood and Asiatees for around $60, but you supply the electronics ($20). I have the f-150 raptor and the jeep wrangler, and they are completely worth it!!!! I am honestly surprised you havent gotten your hands on one, as they have been out for a while. Raptor is "oh35p01", Jeep is "oh35a01", Pajero is "oh32a02" and D110 is "oh32a03". I highly suggest looking into these, Thanks!
I have checked them out, but couldn't see myself playing with something so small (that's what she said). 24th is about my limit.
@@scalebuildersguild I couldn't either until i got one, but you have fun with the 1/24!!!
yes it is a little cutiiiiii :D and a Blazer will be fine
1986 Suzuki Samurai Hardtop (Olive Green), FJ 80 Series Toyota Land Cruiser, 2-door Jeep Rubicon (TJ).
Great choices!
SO GLAD IT’S NOT A REBADGE!
Samesies.
*NEED* … I'll have to get 1 of those, hope they bring a shed load of brass parts out for it !!! 🤣
Lmao brass wheels bro 😂
Oh dear... ;)
@@stpbasss3773 imagine 133mm wheelbase weighing 10 lbs *HAHA*
You crack me up. JEEZE... You got a LOL! from me on that intro!
Thats a cute little thing, i hope they make a honcho fo that size
Now that would be cool!
I'd like them to bring back the dodge ram 1oth or 24th. Need more for the dodge fans out there. Sweet job on the vid.
Nice, that'd be a good choice!
Nice to see axial jump into mikro but still big
More mini than micro!
@@scalebuildersguild yea but closer to 1/20th scale than 24th imo
1/24 UMG cab forward with driver would be right on. And a full interior that fits Mega Blocks CaLL of Duty figures would be my ask.
Oh yeah!!
You mention droop in the video. Could you explain that a little for us new to the sport? Is it adding spacers to the shocks to limit the amount of travel in one direction or the other? I've also seen people referring to adding green slime or grease to the shocks since they are not filled with any oil, I'm assuming this is to dampen the travel and make it less "springy" correct?
Thanks for helping us new to the sport catch up.
It looks like you could change the body and make it a UTV for your 1:10 scale crawler. If you could find the right body.
Already have some big (small) plans for this!
that intro tho !!!!
my tummy aches from laughter. this fellow has humor!
I have my moments, thanks!
These little trucks are so ripe for modification with 3d prints! Between files I developed and one I found on Thingiverse I swapped around the battery and electronics layout and lowered the CG significantly.
Very cool , I may grab a couple and set up something in my garage , have a 3 floor 6 bay garage , so plenty of room , probably could do 1/10 . My question is at pro-line by the fire , did the revile a new body ? A dodge ram charger or something ??
Axial yeti 1/24.. and something different... a full on rock crawler.. caged .. worm drive.. with massive twist suspension wise..
Hmmm.
dude if they do the 69 blazer I will totally have to get another one! they should have done that one in the first place! great video as always!
That'd be very cool. Shouldn't be too hard to convert a static model!
Just saw the Jeep Wrangler pre-order this morning
Pretty fun, right?!
A Trail honcho at this size would be cool
Very cool. And if they don't make one, I might have to!
It's kinda like what happened with the losi mini crawler evolving into a vaterra slickrock the losi trail trekker into an axial scx24 thank you H.H.
This is a product that was designed pre-Horizon take over. So it's entirely new.
The axial wraith poison spider is something I would like to see axial make in 1/24 scale then I will have a tiny twin to the 1/10 one that I have.
That would be cool!
They look cool; but I think I would rather buy the RC4WD micro crawler that comes with metal axles and better parts and body. Yeah I know it's twice the price, but the cost of upgrading this one to compare would be more. Cool truck though; awesome to meet you at Pro-Line by the Fire!
I think there's room in the market for both. I heard that when those RC4WD ones first came out they suffered from QC issues. Hopefully they've resolved that now.
cool video
Thanks!
@@scalebuildersguild your welcome
Just when ya think ya got enough crawlers !!! Does it come in right hands drive for us Brits !!!
I want to see a mini UMG since it already is on a hinge setup in its 1/10 form!
I think a umg24 or a rr24 bomber would be so cool😂😂
Totally!
Maybe a new build series, showing how to put a 1/24 model body on this chassis and scale it out.
I like that idea Craig! May have to do that (and ruin the performance)! ;)
Not sure if anyone will answer or not, but should I go for this or continue with my project truck?
Really like this but did you have any problems like the barrag? Thanks
No idea, I've never owned the Micro Barrage.
Hi Matt,
really a very cool little car 👍.
I would like to buy such a one in my vacation in the USA because we do not have so much space on the way but I would not survive without scaler 5 weeks 😅😂 ... Can you say approximately how long you can go with a battery?
And is included in the delivery matching tool? If not, what do you need?
And last but not least, tuning or tuning tips are not there?
Thank you for your help in advance!
Greetings from Germany Hannes
an 1:24 axial jeep cherokee would be cool too :D
Heck yeah!
Lol I thought I had it on 2X speed at first!
Haha, tricked you!
I want a 2000 Cherokee body for it, I have the scx10ii with that body and a real 2000 so I am hooked on it
Oooh, yes!
Does that new radio work with the ar3 receiver? My ax3 radio has a busted trigger so would be cool to make that receiver work again! The truck looks awesome! I want one!
Doubtful, it appears this is an all in one affair.
Do u have a video for the white defender 110 on your shelf?
No, sorry.
Just got Mine Yesterday, Red Deadbolt. and....................................A grip of Mods on the way, I'm going Full stretch Rock Hopper with rear steering. x2 Emax servos, Treal Steering links front and back, Treal Wheels and Shocks. Re-configuring entire internal arrangement Batt & ESC. Have extra S,M,L, driveshafts and Links ordered, to run Longest Front and Back . want to work out better Shock Geometry for max Flex. Also already ordered 2 new motors, the Dynamite Barrage, and an RGT 13625. As for the Body, I want to move the light bar to the front bumper as a Bull bar, an chop the rear half of the cage and remount forward as a Driver Passenger only cage, with a body drop I can do a trim and build some side rails from some aircraft aluminum I have laying around. The only thing i don't have, or on the way is the 2nd front Diff ( may just go aluminum x2 ), 2nd set Treal steering links and a 2nd e-max servo, and my front O.D. gear.
I've Been Eyeballing a Brushless Hobbywing Mini Motor and ESC systems there is a $20 one and a $127 one. May get a C-10 and try the brushless mod on it. Cheap one 1st, then maybe the $$$ one Later
Once I see where the lower plastic links are hanging up I can mfg some Bent Aluminum links and get some of my clearance issues back from stretching the wheel base
Let’s get an update on where this little beast is at? Did I see a ‘yota body being worked on a while back?
so the radio is twice as big as the Deadbolt? :D
waiting for the price but would be cool to take this car on vacation or hiking trips and crawl at the summits!
$109 US
shame i got caught up in the rumor it was a barrage. i hope they sell a ton of them
Here's hoping!
so how does the size of this compare to the ecx barrage 1/24? looks like it would be a lot better
Same size-ish.
I noticed your Element Enduro behind you had a major case of the flat spots already, is that related to a fault in design or simply the colder climate your in now?
Travel on a plane caused that. I also spun a bead on a difficult section at BTF, and haven’t fixed it yet.
Nissan Patrol two door hard top!
Oooh, yes please!
Are the electronics proportional?
Excellent review and video! I'm surprised at their rock crawling capacities for it's size. Love that 💚 color! :-) I am wondering what the run time is on these one?...Thank you very much. :-)
18-20 minutes seems to be about average for run time.
@@scalebuildersguild oh! Thank you so much for taking the time to reply!!!! That's not to bad of a run time. I guess, I can always get a second battery. :-) Thanks again. I appreciate it. Mario
will it fit the proline jeep 2 door rubicon body that is meant for the ambush?
Gosh I don't know!
Cute. Good morning Matt quick about your Ripper. What do you have in between your auxiliary channel on your lights??
Heya Marc, what do you mean exactly? I’m a little confused.
I would like to switch the lights on and off from the remote same as yours:)
I used a controller from HeyOK: www.freewebstore.org/heyok-performance/Remote_Switch_for_LED_Lighting/p1742582_8014063.aspx
