It took us some navigation including 2 tuktuks and 2 different buses, but we made it to our final destination after a wild ride.

The real reason they drive fast is that they have a schedule. So if they miss theirschedule, they will miss their next turn to come back and wait for a longer time in bus station for other buses to finish their turn.

Hi Mac,there are some salt plants (process of seawater to salt) in down south.Specially in Hambanthota area and the bus conductor is showing one of them.

OMG!!! this is soooo funny and awesome its the crazy bus ride for sure, I think riding the bus is risky than the zip line at Ella 😅 I'm literally crying with laughs while watching this it is so cool and entertaining , bus Conductor is super friendly even though he didn't understand your question, can see he enjoyed sitting between you guys and talk (no offence but it was so unexpected😂😂 and couldn't stop laughing noting Travis face) so many things happened during the ride but its all good since you both enjoyed the experience! And yes noticed the following up part and it is weird!❤️ can't wait for the next video!

Best experience 😍 the first one you ate is Rolls , it may include chicken , fish or veggies. 2nd one is a fruit. it called Tamarind. It is sour and sweet and it is good for your digestive system. It helps to flush your colons.😜
In Hambantota area you can see salt pools. That’s what the bus conductor tried to say.

Yes what you eat in the bus is called Tamarind. Its tropical fruit grown everywhere in SL. We use it for flavouring curries, as a fruit and as a medicine as well.
22.20 There was a salt pool. It use to product salt.

its crazy how its just a normal everyday bus ride for the locals..but an absolute adventure for these two ..haha..perspective huh
The closest Bus Station in Yala is Tissa/Tissamaharama, from there you can take a tuk to your accomodation.
The breaded snack you guys had is called Chinese Rolls, something evolved from the spring rolls the Chinese community in Sri Lanka has given us over the last few centuries.
There are usually snack people going about in buses, surprised you guys didn't see one. Usually the popular snacks are Tipi Tip (A must have!), Jujubes and Choconuts.
KADALA (Boiled Gram) is a snack available in evening buses.
I have watched most if your videos, and you may have noticed that Sri Lankans are generally camera shy, even when wearing a mask. However they will definitely be more confident if there is no language barrier, as such was the case in Colombo, Kandy, Galle.

All buses have a fixed timetable, so they travel according to that schedule, they have to be at the right place at the right time, because of the nature of the roads in Sri Lanka and because they have to travel at the given times, they drive very fast.

Hey Amigos: Mac, Harry, Ali, Travis & Luke. We are hooked on the videos from you guys as they are such fun to watch. Now, for a fast developing situation in Sri Lanka, due to high Inflation, supply chain shortages and fuel, protest marches are beginning to happen. They detest the ruling party of Sri Lanka today, one cannot blame them. Ali's videos show the hard times some families go through. yet they take every difficulty with a smile. You never find a nation like that anywhere on earth. Now, coming to your gang of five, It is to your best interest you guys start an exit strategy from Sri Lanka to the next country you plan to visit or back to your homes. For starters the government may set a CURFEW, if the situation gets out of hand. This situation is a worldwide phenomenon and unfortunately Sri Lanka is feeling the brunt of it. If you guys want more comments and information please reply. We are Sri Lankan expats living in Toronto Canada for the last 50 years. 😞

That's Tamarind. The Natural form of it.
Oftenly use in food around world. Make paste from it. And many uses. Also alternative for lime.
Tamarind are very sweet and sour same time. But again sweet part came after its ripe enough.
(Same case for Alma you had before. Unripe version only have sour taste.)
that tiny fruit is called tamarind. mainly we take that for cooking purposes. but some riped tamarinds are very sweet and edible. basically, Tamarind has got a sour taste. we have to discard the seed but yet it also can be eaten after hard chew.

That mushy fruit is called Tamarind in English. We call it Imelchi/Imeli in Nepal and its probably called similar names in India and Pak. Its supposed to have very very sour taste when unripe but sweet and sour when ripen.
It's called "pebble tamarind". I can't link to Wikipedia since YT deletes comments with links. Search on Wiki by the scientific name "Dialium ovoideum". It is supposed to be sour. It's becoming hard to find them in SL nowadays

Government or Private does not matter...they burn ........ you can realy enjoy it if the driver is speedy and safe at the same time, having a good control of the wheel.
Tamarin [ that seed you guys ate ] is also used in fish , chicken and beef curries too.
Another country where you see crazy transportation is India.. its crazier. bikes without helmets etc

Hi Mac Machan,go to Tangalle and then u will find nice beaches, blowhole-Kudawella........That city also Srilankan president's birth place also ...a bigger beach to swim,a harbour, Navy camp, rest house together there....if you go there please visit Madilla Beach...small hotels also there...

The buses go fast 1. To go faster than other buses to get more people 2. To wait at the stops as much as possible to collect as many passengers as possible and then catch up the lost time. Well for more money.

I think the snack you had is a Fish Chinese Roll. Don't know why it's called Chinese, but you get various favours, Fish, Chicken, Vegetable, Egg and Fish etc. It's basically a filling wrapped in a pan cake and deep fried.
