Not at all. Ronaldo himself said that he didnât want the Saudis because he wants to continue playing at a high level, so it wasnât United asking him to stay. The reason for him wanting to leave was because of UCL football and to maintain his records. According to media reports, none of the UCL teams wanted to pay a fee and a high salary, so he was forced to stay at United. And like Big Sam said, Ten Hag had no choice but to say that he wanted to keep Ronaldo to the media. But there is no way he wouldâve wanted him in his team, especially knowing that he doesnât suit his system and also seeing the problems that hĂ© caused for Ragnick (who also wants high pressing). Everybody is talking about Ronaldo not doing the running being the problem. What I saw this season is he was out of form completely. Couldn't stop the ball, couldn't keep the ball, couldn't pass the ball, and couldn't score. EtH has given him a lot of opportunities he didn't take. Is he doing anything beyond the plain average for Portugal? I think not.

Why is nobody mentioning what he did previously at juve? Let me tell you categorically now what people like Souness-Liverpool and Piers Morgan-Arsenal are doing, they want to basically unsettle our club. Itâs an agenda. Ainât no way you will be supporting any player coming out publicly to call out and/or disrespect the sitting manager. You can criticize the business owners and other hierarchy as a player but definitely not your football manager. You should AlWAYS meet your manager in private.
The reasons are:
1, You want your manager in control of the dressing room.
2, The domino effect of other players coming out publicly with demands of the role they feel like playing in the team and not what is asked of them.
3, Point to any successful club or team where player power isnât tamed and the team is successful on the pitch.
4, Mr Sourness, you didnât say this when Raheem Sterling and the manager Brender Roger had similar type of not getting along. You all stood by Roger after loosing your promising but valuable asset back then.
As Simon stated, there is no win win here, but at least Ronaldo got his departure and the club and Erik Ten Hag can move on.
