    Thanks a lot Welsh Whoopee, your tutorials are really useful, especially nowadays, now that the GPU prices are dropping. I will try to upgrade my ROG G20AJ from the GTX 970 FE to the Asus RTX 2070 Super turbo (blower type). A bit tight regarding the TDP (215w required for a 230w psu), but I've read on the Asus forums that you can go up til RTX 2080 on the AJ... Finger crossed. Thanks again, I'll follow your video step by step.

      Hello, sorry for delay. well the second power brick can handle about 150-160watts of power, but that will only draw that much if your running the graphics at full 100% power. just depends on the game and game settings on graphics, most times its best to keep it around the 50%, more power just = more heat. but let me know if you still need help

    Can my G20AJ that didn’t come with the 2nd power brick upgrade from the original GTX750 to an AMD RX580 8GB without needing the 2nd power brick ?
    Having a hard time finding one, if you could recommend a current link to one that would be great.

    Hello nice video! I have a question, I have asus g20 aj with i5 4460 and gtx 960 2gb, upgraded the ram to 16 gb from 8 gb a few years ago. I have been running the GPU and CPU since I bought the PC like eight years ago or something and I really need an upgrade of components, what would you recommend? Sould I only upgrade the gpu or cpu or both, I know upgrading both may be there best option, but which one would you upgrade if you had to choose one XD? I have read some comments and I can say that I have the bigger original powerbrick that has 2 powerbricks attached to each other.

      Hello, yeah I brought a few of these and work really on them and course help a lot of people over the year. your best gpu on that cpu is around the rtx 2000 series like the RTX2060/2070, mainly due to the bottleneck to your cpu. but if you upgrade your cpu then you could easy handle a card from the RTX 3000 series, like RTX3060/3070. the only issue is just which card and will it fit, the card itself has to be small then the founders edition/refence card and not to wide, as then 3000 and 4000 are 2/3 pcie solts wide, but send me a link to a card and I can help you or your budget.

    Hi, I was thinking about upgrading from my gtx 970 on my Rog G20 to a rtx A2000 (6gb) because of the low power consumption of this graphics card. I know it is not meant for gaming but it is definitely an upgrade from what I currently have. Now, I just read that a rtx 3060ti can be placed in and work with no issues. Is this really true? For what I heard it has to be a blower style kind of card. Thanks in advance, there is almost nowhere to find help on this topic. 🙏🏻

    • @welshwhoopee
      @welshwhoopee  Před rokem +1

      Hello, for the topic of the blower style card, it does help your PC but only if you have putting a lot of power and causing high temps from the GPU, then its better to push the heat out of your case rather then having it keep in the case and rise to the CPU. yes the new cards seems o.k so far, and as for gaming I have seen Linus Tech Tips doing some bench marks with them and their can plays then ok, Which model Asus Rog G20 do you have?

      Height: 4.4" / 111.5 mm
      Length: 10.5" / 266.7 mm
      a lot of people on the asus forums have fitted up to a RTX 3060 TI into the system, so keep within them sizes above and your be fine and only dual slot size.

I obviously already have the power supply. Dont think a 30 series would work and even if it does it would probably be bottlenecked. Hello, what model and cpu are you running? if your on the old Aj and have the 4790 then the 3000 will only give you cpu bottleneck, if you have the 6700 cpu then you should be ok with a 3000 series, but be careful as most of these cards are really wide, there started to take 2/3 pcie solts and will no way fit into this pc. so trying to stick to the founders edition/refence if your best bet

    Hi, i recently got a 1660 ti for christmas as a gift to replace my gtx 750. However, when i opened the case and tried to put in the 1660 ti, it wouldnt fit! I saw the dimension restraints of the card and my card is around 3 mm too tall so it wont fit in the case. Would there be any way to fix this or it is impossible to use this gpu.

      @godxify7367 Před 6 měsíci +1

      I do realize the possibility that i couldve inserted the card wrong into the holder but i tried to fit the gpu into the case raw, and it still didnt fit. So i think this will be impossible to use.

      @welshwhoopee  Před 5 měsíci

      Hello, you don't really need the case to put the gpu in. if you install and its too wide then you will need to replace the card, if your getting a new card and you want a 100% fit, then go for a founders edition/refence card. sorry for delay

      I think I had the same error funny enough with my pc at that time, the way I got around it was getting a converter, on the back of the pc are the old school mouse and keyboard ports, you can get a adaptor that takes it from the old school mouse/keyboard to usb. the item is a "PS/2 Adapter - F/M - USB mouse to PS2 Adapter - USB to PS2 Adapter" you might have one kicking around, cheap to buy on amazon/ebay, that way you can gain access to the bios and I am sure from there I had to change a settings to make the usb work again.
