  • This video is not made for kids. It is for older fans and adults. So fuck off and enjoy the fucking video!
    So, thought I'd try something new for this one. As it is Halloween, I have drawn inspiration from the master of ghost stories, M.R. James. I hope you enjoy it!
    Tammi is curious about why Bertie dislikes having to stop at Gob-Y-Deighan. Trevor, later that night, explains everything to her, by telling her about a time when Stephen, Bridget and two of their friends visited that fateful place...

    That was amazing. It was lovely to see Stephen Topham Hatt’s background being imagined. It fits in with the way I feel about him, a sensible caring clever young man. I also love the fact he grew up liking trains. It fits in with the way he treats the engines.
    The story itself was very imaginatively put together. I loved the fact that, although it’s still TTE related, it’s using different characters. Brilliantly done.

    Given Harry Arnoldson's troublesome reputation, I guess he was one of the boys who threw stones on Henry and/or caused james' runaway in Old Iron after fiddling with his controls.

    • @TARDIS9
      @TARDIS9  Před 3 lety +3

      Actually, no he isn't. Harry Arnoldson is from the mainland. He only went to boarding school on Sodor. Also, this story is set in the late 50s - early 60s, when Stephen and Bridget were in their teens, while the two incidents involving Henry and James happened earlier - Henry's Sneeze happened in the mid to late 1930s, following his crash with the Flying Kipper in 1935, while James' runaway took place in 1953.

    • @TARDIS9
      @TARDIS9  Před 3 lety +4

      Thanks! Well, I thought I’d add the demonic bit to give the story a bit more of a haunting, Halloween feel - I’ve always liked listening to horror stories myself, and felt it also seemed like a good story for Stephen and Bridget to play a role in. Also, Harry was loosely inspired by someone I knew when I did my undergraduate degree at University (the sexual bit of him) - I always felt the guy was something of a character, you see. The two elements just fitted together nicely, and I couldn’t resist writing about them!

      Ah, no probs. Must've been a typing error. I've been there myself some days. I'd say it's possible though that he'd be completely fine - since he just let the woman use the phone, she is more likely to suffer from some misfortune than he is.

    • @TARDIS9
      @TARDIS9  Před 3 lety

      It's kinda more of a superstition sort of a thing, like how looking into a broken mirror apparently causes bad luck. I based this story on an old myth that surrounds a part of a natural park near me called 'Devil's Dyke'. There are two graves there that are said to belong to the devil and his mistress. Legend has it that if you run around those two graves seven times backwards while holding your breath, they will appear, from what I've been told. I'm not sure if that is true or not, but it sounded like a good basis for a story. In all fairness, since there aren't that many TTTE stories that involve humans as the main characters, much less Stephen and Bridget, it seemed like an ideal opportunity to shift the focus away from the vehicles (as I only decided to use Thomas, Trevor and Tammi in order to frame the narrative by having Trevor pass down the story to the next generation, represented by Tammi, and it felt fitting to have one of the Fat Controller's engines appear in a special).

      @@TARDIS9 I was very creeped out of your story here, I also thought of a further concept of many years afterwards there would be a string of similar events surrounding the Devil’s Humps and the ending conclusion resulted in the area near the humps would be considered forbidden to access and cause disturbance.
      What would your feedback would be exactly for such a multitude of people believing that myth is false and caused such demonic events following their own encounter with Samael and Lillith.

  • @jriddle41
    @jriddle41 Před rokem

    Quite a chilling tale. For my own theory as to why Harry was taken, perhaps the Devil and his Wife wanted to have children of their own. So they decided to adopt Harry after testing his character, but could only do so once he had died. The Misses, however, might have been a bit too playful in that moment, though. At first, I assumed Rebecca was in on the whole thing due to how she encouraged Harry to walk about the humps.

      @TARDIS9  Před 3 lety

      Yes. But not in the context of it being a ghost story. I’m not sure when I’ll get round to writing that one, though I have had an idea for it for a while now. I’m not announcing anything, except for my Christmas story though - I do have other things outside of CZcams to focus on.

      @@TARDIS9 Will you be featuring any TV Series characters, or will it just be all RWS as of right now?

    • @TARDIS9
      @TARDIS9  Před 3 lety

      No, I'm sticking to largely RWS characters for now. I prefer to separate the franchise into two separate universes - the RWS universe and the TVS universe, you see. I also generally prefer the RWS universe, considering that it is the original version - I try to keep my stories as true to the Railway Series as possible while adding my own spin on them, if you see what I mean. Although, I did do a TVS-universe story. It's the first TTTE story to be uploaded onto my channel, called 'Rosie and James,' since it stars a certain pink/red tank engine. If I have an idea that suits a TV series character, I'll do the story in the TVS universe. But for know, I'm sticking to the RWS. I hope you understand.

      @@TARDIS9 Fine by me. Just one more thing, will you ever show Jinty, Pug, Albert, or even 1020 from Toby’s Seaside Holiday coming to Sodor?

    • @TARDIS9
      @TARDIS9  Před 3 lety

      Perhaps. I'm not sure about Albert, unless I do a story set on the Mid-Sodor line, explaining his downfall. But Jinty, Pug and 1020 - maybe. I'm still trying to think of characters and stories for the Vicarstown Museum series I'm working on, so some of them may appear as exhibits, while others I may find a way of explaining what happened to them. In fact, I am also wondering about making a Trainz series set on a fictional branch line with 1020 (though I shall give him a name in that series) as one of the main characters. I can't confirm anything, but they sound like good characters to write about, since I admit they are quite under-used!

    • @TARDIS9
      @TARDIS9  Před 3 lety +4

      Thanks! Will do. In fact, I'm putting together a series about her and the other engines of the Vicarstown Rail Museum, with her story as to how she left the MSR being one of the episodes. The premise of that series is that Diesel has just arrived at the museum as its maintenance engine (since it is set between 'Barrow Engines' and 'Visiting Engines'), and spends some time with the residents there between his duties. Each of them tells him and the other engines how they came to be preserved, and some of the adventures (or misadventures in some cases) that they had before they arrived at the museum. Like my other stories, it'll also be largely audio based - since I don't know how to make Trainz models for the OCs I'll be using there (I should also mention that those OCs will also be the same engines who appeared unnamed in 'Visiting Engines'). I'll get round to it when I can - It's just I also have a Masters Degree I'm focusing on as well, though I'm also working on a series pilot in my spare time. One thing I will also confirm is that Neil and Eagle will also appear and have stories to tell as well!
