I appreciate that!
I think you have just given me the courage to cast parts for my Yenko builds. Hoods and grills!
Cool. Don’t be afraid to try. There is always a lesson to be learned but sometimes you don’t want to learn them.
Thankyou for this!! I make small resin jewelry and wanted to make my own molds. This video was very valuable!

Thanks! Glad it worked out for you!
Really interesting,like your attitude
Thank you! 😃
Nice video........It's fun making different molds so you can make parts.
It sure is!
Great video. Thanks for tutorial and sharing

Great video thanks for sharing I been wanting to try this.
Give it a try. It's really useful especially if you keep looking for the same parts on your builds!
A very good demonstration. Thank you.

Appreciate the video ... I was curious as to how to do this.
No problem 👍
Thanks very much for your tips. I have subscribed to watch some more as I am a keen modeler as well.
Thanks for the sub!

Very useful info thank you...i look forward to part two.... i have a few missing parts in my stash so this will be useful to make some copies... i also like steel wheels.... its rare in kits to include the so... i can duplicate them without having to buy aftermarket.
Awesome! Thank you!
@@TheMuscleCarModeler Useful info thank you... it will be put to good use.
Very good tutorial!! i will have to try this in the future,we only have Michaels here in Canada,no HobbyLobby,so hopefully i can find a similiar product.
I hope so too!
Great tutorial. Nice Video

very well done!
Thank you!
Cool video.thank you for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Excellent video Raoul, looking forward to the next video on the resin pouring as well, a video on a body cast that would be of great interest for me and i'm sure for others too- thanks for sharing.
Thank you! I do want to do a video on casting a body. I have done a few and it does take a few different tips on doing them.
@@TheMuscleCarModeler really looking forward to that, this part of the hobby is veru interesting to me, i just started experimenting with casting and viewing a few sites on YT- thanks again Raoul
@@TheMuscleCarModeler HI Raoul, when are you looking at doing the second part to this video?. I have a few body parts I need to cast and have always wondered how to do it. I have purchased the silicone to make the moulds , now need to get the resin. Don
@@pugsly205gti I filmed it and have to do some editing but it will be this Saturdays video. Look for it on the 26th! Merry Christmas!
@@TheMuscleCarModeler thank you, Merry Christmas
I really enjoyed the content.
We'll done
Thank you!
Nice and educative video, more grace to your elbow. Can Asphalt clay work well for two part molding?
Sorry, I don’t know. Never heard of asphalt clay.
Hello Ralph ! Love your channel and I hate the fact I watch on my Roku tv most the time and I can't or don't know how to comment from there but I wanted to ask you if your buddy u showed a video from at his Buick resin garage if he makes a 67_72 skylark body in 1/25 scale ? My first car was a 70 skylark convertible but any in 1/25 scale would be super cool cuz I'm not a fan of 1/24 scale at all . Thanks for all the great videos and information ! Your builds are top shelf stuff ! Keep em commin Ralph and hope to hear back from u soon
Thank you! I don't believe he is casting any skylarks or GS. He had a 72 GS himself. But the only one he was casting was the 1/24 Monogram 70 GS. I know he wanted to do bumpers and grills to make them into a 72. I don't think anyone mastered the parts. The only ones I know of were 66-67 GS. I don't remember who cast them and don't think they are available. Perry's resin did a 68 GS. I have that one. It's OK and could be better. They are pricey thou when they turn up and also no longer available. I'm hoping someone does a 69 GS 400 Stage 1! That is the one I want!
Thanks for sharing Raul I find less bubbles if you pour closer to the parts and Vaseline worked better for a mold release for me
Thanks! This mold release wasn't very good. I will try the Vaseline for rubber to rubber mold release. I had used a specific rubber to rubber before and it worked good. I just don't have any more of it.
@@TheMuscleCarModeler ok yeah I think the Vaseline is better Atleast that’s my thoughts I really haven’t had issues with it
Nice job been moldy erfew yrs
Thanks!
Awesome video Raoul I've been wanting to cast some engine parts for a long time now and this video has a good idea on how to get it done the only question I've got is what was the company you got the silicon mold stuff from thanks
This is Alumilite and I bought it at Hobby Lobby. Check your local hobby store and they might carry something similar.
@@TheMuscleCarModeler ya I'll definitely have to see if its something they can get maybe up here in canada
Subscribed thumbed up commented and rang your notification bell.
Welcome aboard!
@@TheMuscleCarModeler thanks man.
What did you use for mold release for the two-part mold?
I had an actual mold release spray but it is gone now. You can actually use Vaseline also but would check on that first.
Will the method work for casting resin parts off of diecast model car
parts?
It should. I haven’t really done that yet but plan to with a 2012 Boss 302.
@@TheMuscleCarModeler well let me know that video drops I will gladly watch it and
Happy Thanksgiving to you eat plenty of Turkey gobble gobble gobble.😆😎👓❤👍
Happy Thanksgiving to you too!
I seen you had a video of NYE county....I live in NYE county also and would like to get to know you if that's alright
I'm in Arizona.
Great video reassures me that I'm doing it correctly I still have a lot of problems with bubbles on small parts
Have you ever heated your resin in a microwave
Thanks!
No. I have a heat gun and will show that in the resin portion. A hair blow-dryer works as well.
thank you i have some leaf spring that i need made are you interested
Sorry but I just cast what I need.
i very sorry to here that i reach out for help
Never hurts to ask.
What kind of glue do you use
On resin I use super glue.
@@TheMuscleCarModeler ok thank you
can you make leaf spring
These techniques should apply to casting them.
i don't have a clue on how to do that but i would like to learn about it
An old car radio Ariel will do the trick 😊
Ok, but I'm not sure what you are referring to?
@@TheMuscleCarModeler if you pull an old Ariel apart you get different sections which are thin enough to make air holes in the silicon which you did with a chrome tube 🙂
Oh, a power one that is hollow. Don't have any of them around but the steel brake lines and fuel lines I do have.
dose that dry hard
Yes it will.
Have any interest in doing the SS HOOD for the ‘96/‘97 SLP CAMAROS? I can send pics--
I don't see why. AMT actually made a kit of one. It's a nice kit and Rays Decals has the 30th anniversary decals. I have the kit and have the decals on order. www.scalemates.com/kits/amt-ertl-8221-1997-chevrolet-camaro-ss--1226420
Okay, I was not aware of that kit! My 1:1 is a convertible… at last. I can have a kit of my own car! Thanks!
Very cool! I think the SS was only issued the one time. All the rest are Z/28s and I thought about kit bashing one with a convertible.
Looking at my sources I can’t find that kit anywhere…
This one just popped up on eBay. Don’t know if you have seen it. www.ebay.com/itm/185620016120?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=FgCrdI63QYi&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=MtP9kYk1TOK&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
I am never using Legos again!! LMAO
Done that a few times but legos can leak!
@@TheMuscleCarModeler that's exactly what I meant. Besides the mess, they are even harder to take apart after that!
enjoyed it a lot, but so many adds!
Thank you! Those adds are how You Tube creators get paid! It's not a lot but it adds up and helps us make more videos. It has paid for a Camera and editing software and maybe a model or two. Another way is selling subscriptions or merchandise. I have not looked into those options but may do merchandise at some point. Would you buy a Muscle Car Modeler T-shirt? I'm just wondering?
The curse of alumalite... especially the resin. Absolute junk. Having moved from that stuff over at hobby lobby to getting Smooth On and others from jewelry suppliers. Like night and day. Trust me .dump the Alumalite.
I have used Smooth On when I was doing more of the casting. It’s good stuff.
