Indeed, a very long, happy life & many children with his beautiful new wife.❤🙏🏻
The wedding photos from Sicily were superb.🙌🏻 Good news is such a rare highlight these chaos days. 🐱♏🏴🦅
I really hope things are doing better for Thom too, I love him so much ❤️
As soon as the first note hits ..
I’m in a different state of mind

Yesss, when Videotape kicks in I feel completely homesick lol
I've heard this song so many times and got chills on the first word uttered.
would be sick to see a concert where they immediately open with videotape, bet they could do it

i haven’t breathed in so long brother
It's from 2005
Still catching my breath!
But this performance is old..
Thom Yorke is a musical genius
I tend to agree.
He absolutely fucking is, in fact he’s one of my favorite artists, and lead band members ever, but all the members are amazing especially Johnny Greenwood, and Philip Selway, because i adore Johnny, and his guitar skills, and same for Philip Selway. But it is funny we went from that awful beach house performance to this gorgeous, and elegant display god damn Thom, you really matured jeez....
Yeah but he wouldn't be much if it weren't for Jonny and Nigel. He's the ideas man but Jonny and Nigel are the ones that really finish the tracks.
@@zynel413 You might as well have said Picasso wouldn't be a genius without the guy who invented paint. This is a Thom Yorke video so I'm giving credit to Thom Yorke.
@@Goatchild90 yeah, and I'm giving credit to other people because they earned it. I'm not saying Thom Yorke isn't a superb visionary, I'm saying that the rest of the band and Nigel are vital to his sound.
And also, if I thought that Picasso had to make his own paint or paint brushes to be a genius, wouldn't that be equal to me saying that Thom had to make his own instruments to be a genius?
a tiny piece of my soul just left my body

A tiny piece of Thom's just entered mine.

A surprise surely, but a welcomed one.
Indeed.
It very much is, but i still wanna see a full In Basement, performance of Kid A, or Ok Computer, though i think it’s more likely we will see one of A Moon Shaped Pool, since it just had it’s 5 anniversary, not to long ago.
@@joshshrum2764 A basement performance featuring dynamic and raw versions of the songs would be fantastic, especially since the mastering of the album itself is horrendous and full of clipping.
Radiohead notification? YES
welcome to the team
I had never heard a Thom solo rendition of Videotape. I'm amazed at how full he can make it sound with just him and a piano.
My favourite thing about the From the Basement series is the moments in between the music... it’s all tea cups, rugs, hand-written notes and gentle banter. It’s lovely.
I've listened to Videotape so many countless times, for its haunting beauty and incredible syncopated rhythm, but what it always needed was an airbnb ad in the middle
I still see the little boy that found solace in playing around in the music room by himself.
Heartbreaking and beautiful
I need A Moon Shaped Pool - From the Basement!
I wish people would stop griping about this.
Seems like all there will be is to the Thom and Jonny 808 set. Awesome recordings, but still sad we don't get to have the full album with the whole band. They don't really tour here in Australia, so the basements/scotch mists are my live fix.
x 1000
@@ExileOnDaytonStreet never!!
Yes thank you i am happy to hear that someone else is saying the same thing as me, because i would love that as well, that or possibly Ok Computer, or Kid A, honestly seeing the older albums being redone in their In Rainbows, and Moon Shaped Pool, style, not that they would completely change the songs, but they would definitely sound different, and i am sucker for some of the different arrangements in the In Rainbows, in the From The Basement performance.
this man is what this world needs right now
True
We need Joe Strummer, but he died. So now we have to take what we can get; i.e. existential art rock vs. visceral naming names punk rock. This is not a knock on Thom and the boys as they are one of my favorite bands ever.
Yes :3
I've been/still am in a long-ass long distance relationship and depressed af because of it. This is the music that touches my soul at times like this
Na get Cocteau Twins back together instead
Please someone give this man the key to eternal life
Amen
He already achieved it through his music. Their music will never die as long as the internet is alive
@@SammyGMusic ...and I think that's the only kind of eternal life someone as wise as him would want.
@@grainofsand4176 seems entirely unwise as all things pass away. Even the most consequential figures in history.
Please God let them tour again. I will give everything in my power to see them live and fulfill my 15 year old self again. These guys have influenced my entire life, given me so much hope with sound. So lucky to share this lifetime with them.
I hope they tour again to, but i also want them to release a new album because it’s been 5 years since A Moon Shaped Pool, released, and it’s high time for any new Radiohead, content.
In my opinion, Videotape is the best Radiohead song along with Let Down. It's just so emotional and so simply wonderful. I have never heard such a song. It's like, when you return home from another difficult and awful day, and you finally find shelter in music. It is one of the few moments of happiness you're gonna experience in this life. After all this struggling, after all this misery, after all this battles you gave with the demons of your soul, you're finally f*cking free. It's just a few minutes. I don't even know if it's worth it. But you are not going to gain anything more in this life. Just the simple joy of listening to a beautiful song, and you are free to cry until you can't anymore, you are free to let all your anger go. Be grateful for this little moments. Life is years and years of sadness, and once in a while, you are given a few minutes of happiness. Don't let them go away.
A surprise, but a welcomed one :)
Anyone else think last flowers is extremely underrated ?
They used Last Flowers in a Japanese film called Confessions (2010) and it's so powerful. It's thanks to that film that I was like: 'OMG Radiohead, really ought to listen to them more!' and I've done since that day.
@@Kalamorenyeah. The song fits the theme of the novel... I haven't watch the movie
Last Flowers is so underrated, in my opinion it's one of their best songs.
Man . But it's sooo heavy
The track is pure magic. It’s my tranquil place
You don't know me, I don't know you. Still you're giving me something undescribable. Laying on my bed in Budapest with my 16 yo cat Gülü on my lap, listening to this. Remembering 27 years ago a summer in Turkey, listening to Creep. Together on this journey. Music is the closest thing to transciendent or what somebody calls God. Words lose all meanings. Just wanna say thank you.
Yes, music is like a 5th element. The power it has, you feel it just like fire, water, earth, air. It’s alive.
you are my center when i spin away
even playing alone make me feel like he's a whole band
I'm 8 months pregnant it's been my mission to only play Radiohead for my baby. My Radiohead child loves dancing to your music, Thom! Thanks for this musical gift!
It’s amazing that you’re exposing your child to such complex music, and please continue to do so (preferably with other bands aswell) as he grows up. Musical fluency is developed kind of like language, so if he or she starts listening and playing instruments early, they’ll have a massive head start if they ever decide to pursue music as say, a teenager
@@jostin4041 Thanks, that's the plan! Radiohead is always #1 in this house but there will be more awesome music to listen to once he's born. I already have a Push with Ableton Live, keyboard and DJ controller waiting for him to play with when he's old enough :)
Congratulations on your pregnancy! Soon you will have a little bundle of hope by your side for the rest of your life, I am sure he will be amazing!
Best of luck with everything!
