Like the B is for Build sticker, this install seems nerve-racking.

Aren't these installed backwards? i.e. the latch should be pushed down by the airstream if the button lets go

Not only do I think it looks better this way. Just installed it on my car. If the button did fail then surely you would want it to be a visible failure so you could correct it. If it was facing the other way then it could be loose but not dangling in the wind. Which in turn would cause you to not correct it. Also the version I got had a set of keys so I'm able to lock them so the button is secured in place.

Just wondering why install these on a OEM bonnet. Can you tell me why?

It’s a track car only, and didn’t want to have to go inside the car every time I wanted to lift the bonnet.

Glimmer Detail also, the OEM latches on any car are only rated for minimal “Speed” ratings. A strong opposing wind from an on coming trucker can even cause failure. Or maybe you accidentally forgot to completely close the bonnet.
And personally when I drive, I can see my Bonnet lift and shake, disrupting my attention. As the bonnet has a central connection and lifts/twists from the two unsecured sides. The latches stop this.

I just completed a log road trip with my turbocharged FR-S and I was shocked at how much the hood moves at triple digit speeds or on a two lane road with a 70 MPH speed limit when an oncoming tractor trailer goes by. I frequently checked to make sure it was latched and now I want to add these to my OEM hood for peace of mind.

Place super magnets around your drill site to help guide your drill bit, and to catch most if your small metal pieces, easier cleanup. Now if I could just find a plastic magnet, but a vacuum near your work will help also

The hood is made of aluminum, does this still work?
